Marlene was born in Winnipeg and attended Rupert's
Land Girls' School. She followed both her parents into the medical
profession and was a 1954 graduate of the Winnipeg General Hospital
School of Nursing. Prior to her marriage to Ted in 1957 she worked
as a stewardess for Trans-Canada Airlines and was a long standing
member of the Maple Wings Association. After raising her family,
and devoting many years to volunteering for various causes, Marlene
went back to nursing in the Haematology department at Toronto
Western Hospital. Marlene loved spending time with Ted and their
many Friends in Barbados during the winter months and with the
family up at their cottage in the Haliburton Highlands during
the summer. Her compassion, grace and strong devotion to family
will be remembered by all who knew her. A service to celebrate
Marlene's life will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles
Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) on
Monday, May 12th, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to
the service, beginning at 12 noon. If desired, donations may

Born in Manitowaning on November 2, 1909 to Matilda (née
McMURRAY) and Henry
McMULLEN.
She has been a resident of Sandfield since 1947. She has always
been very active in her community, an ardent church supporter, a long
time member of Sandfield Women's Institute, and the Tehkummah Senior
Triangle Club. Ethel loved going to Bingo. She had many talents,
quilting, knitting, sewing, gardening, crocheting, and cooking. Ethel
enjoyed several trips, seeing the east and west coast, Florida, Edmonton,
and other points in Saskatchewan. Cherished husband William James

for fishing and the outdoors he spent his retirement years in
Tobermory on Dorcas Bay Rd. He was a veteran of World War 2,
stationed at the Alaskan border. Paul was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion, Royal Canadian Naval Association, the Point
Edward Ex-Servicemen's Association and the 1st Hussars W.O. and
Sergeant's Mess. At Paul's request there will be no funeral home
visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew
BEDARD at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday
at 2 p.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements
