to many. Always remembered for her motto “Who has more fun than
people?” Her career was varied, working in the newsroom of Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation radio in Toronto (beginning on D-Day),
the Owen Sound Sun Times, the Owen Sound Herald, CFOS, the
office of the Mayor of Owen Sound and the member of provincial
parliament for Grey-Bruce. She was Owen Sound Volunteer of the
Year in 1999, Regent of the Captain William F. Owen Chapter of
the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire, President
of the women's section of the Grey Granite Curling Club, Honourary
Member of the Owen Sound Kiwanis Club and a server for Meals
on Wheels until she realized that most of her clients were younger
than she. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral
Home, 241-9th Street West, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, January 22
from 7-9 p.m. Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery. A reception

be sadly missed by all. At her request, there will be no visitation.
She will be cremated and her remains interred in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Toronto. A service to celebrate her life will take

in Brodhagen where she was proud to be an honorary member of
the E.L.W. Family and Friends are welcomed to join her family
in the celebration of her life at the Lockhart Funeral Home,
109 Montreal Street, Mitchell on Sunday 2-4 p.m. The funeral service
will take place at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church in Brodhagen on
Monday at 11: 00 a.m. with Pastor Steve

she came to Canada at the age of 30 to what she claimed was a
glorious country. Though she moved many times in Canada and lived
many more years back in Europe, she loved Canada best of all.
We were blessed to have had such a loving and caring mother who
taught us to see the good in everyone, to love and care for the
world we live in and to celebrate life, especially the small
things. A huge thank you for the love and support of Doctor Karen
LO who made me able to care for Mum at home where she passed
peacefully. Many thanks to the Victorian Order of Nurses and
Community Care Access Centre, especially nurses Trudie and Lenore
and Personal Support Worker's Jasminka, Lynn and Ernestine for
all the wonderful help. A large hug to Doctor D.

to many. Always remembered for her motto "Who has more fun than
people?" Her career was varied, working in the newsroom of Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation radio in Toronto (beginning on D-Day),
the Owen Sound Sun Times, the Owen Sound Herald, CFOS, the
office of the Mayor of Owen Sound and the member of provincial
parliament for Grey-Bruce. She was Owen Sound Volunteer of the
Year in 1999, Regent of the Captain William F. Owen Chapter of
the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire, President
of the women's section of the Grey Granite Curling Club, Honourary
Member of the Owen Sound Kiwanis Club and a server for Meals
on Wheels until she realized that most of her clients were younger
than she. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral
Home, 241-9th Street West, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, January 22
from 7-9 p.m. Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery. A reception
for family and Friends will be held in Toronto at a later date.
