Reverend Kenneth
MEW was born on July 9, 1915 in Liverpool, England
and died peacefully on May 23, 2008 in his 93rd year. Ken was
awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945 for his part in
the D-Day, Arnhem and Rhine airborne operations. In 1982 he was
awarded the World Methodist Peace Prize for his work in promoting
interracial adult education in war torn Rhodesia (Zimbabwe).
Ken will be sadly missed by his loving wife of nearly 60 years,
Lilian (nee:
RICE;) his daughter Jane (Peter)
HAMILTON; his sons:
David (Tessa) of South Africa and Richard of England; grandchildren
Tania, Simon, Natasha, Timothy, Stephen, Anoushka and Skye.
Ken's family is very grateful to Doctor Bradstock and the staff
of Shepherds Care for all the care and compassion they gave Ken
in his last year of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Paul's United Church,
11526 - 76th Ave, Edmonton on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m.
