Fran was the dearly beloved wife of Jim for 59 years, having resided in Toronto, London, Orillia and Sarnia. Dear mother of Michael (Mary) JORDAN, London; Kathleen (Geoffrey) PERDEAUX, Sarnia; Mary "Beth" (Douglas) LOW/LOWE/LOUGH, Lake Jackson, Texas. and son-in-law Gerald MADDEN, West Vancouver. Grandmother of Brian, Michael, and Kathleen MADDEN, Linda, Sandra and Alex PERDEAUX, Christopher, Courtney, and Gregory JORDAN. Great-grandmother of Alyssa and Hallie. After a full life, George passed away suddenly but peacefully at home in his 85th year on Sunday, January 20, 2008. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years Joyce (née RANDALL.) Dear father of Mike (Chris), Rob (Jill), and Tom (Jill). Extremely proud grandfather of Gord (Keegan), Linda (Jason), Jessica, Will, Alex, Leigh, Stephen, and great-grandfather of twins Trevor and Charlie. Brother of Don (deceased), Betty MADDEN, Mary FRASER (deceased), Peter, Larry, and David. Brother-in-law of Shirley, Barbara, and Mary Ellen and the late David FRASER and Cliff MADDEN. George was a devoted family man and was one of the last surviving Lancaster Bomber pilots, an avid golfer (Lambton Golf and Country Club) right up until the first snowfall of this winter, and was an active Toronto Real Estate Board member since 1946. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street, W at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 at Sunrise of Richmond Hill, in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her parents William E.C. DRAPER and Eliza DRAPER (née SMITH.) Beloved wife of the late Wilbur John TRAVIS and Beverley Wheaton MADDEN. Predeceased by her dear sisters C. Mildred STEPHENSON, Alice WOOD, Marian AINLAY and brother Howard DRAPER and survived by her brother Jack E. DRAPER. Lorna will be missed and lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as her extended family and many Friends.

95 years on March 30th, passed away peacefully at Kensington Village Nursing Home on March 20th 2008. Predeceased by her husband Clare (1983.) Sadly missed by her daughters Lorene STEELE (Jim,) Norma HEWSON (Bob,) son Gerald EDWARDS (Bernice,) grandchildren Doug and Barry EDWARDS, Lori MADDIGAN (Dave), Wendy HOLMES (Jim), Patti NIXON (Steve), Michael STEELE (Corri), and Carol MORRIS (Paul.) Survived also by her brother Norman HALL (Dorothy.) Loved by her 13 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held in the Spring of 2008. John of Stayner, lovingly commended to the Lord's care by his dear wife of over 60 years, Sally. Loving father of Tess AYLES- HUTT and her husband Karl HUTT, Stephanie and her husband Paul BELLAMY, Tim and his wife Sharon, Mary and her husband Dwight MILLAR and the late Charles. Cherished grandfather of Luke, John, Meghan, Kris, Greg, Amanda, Roberta, Tegan and Arian. Proud great-grandfather of Maya and Everest. John was a well known character in Stayner, out rain or shine on his scooter and one of the oldest Veterans of World War 2, a proud Canadian, faithful servant, lay reader and pastoral visitor of the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd. Passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday May 8, 2008 in Bracebridge, Ontario. Born November 21, 1920 in Brandon, Manitoba the only child of George and Alice FAWCETT was predeceased by her loving husband Holmes Robert MADDOCK Jr. Wendy will be sadly missed by her children and their spouses, Rob and Susan MADDOCK, Paul and Barbara MADDOCK, Beverly and Bruce STANDING as well as her grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Nicole, Alex, Lindsay and Michael.
Corporal Rubie May Fawcett Women's Auxiliary Air Force (Royal Air Force) was honoured by King George IV in World War 2 with Mention in Dispatches following the Battle of Britain and then married and moved to Canada.
A new country and a new group of troops she encountered as she was an active volunteer at St. Clement's Church as a Cub and Boy Scout Leader, and then a Choir Mother. Her next role was as an enthusiastic Red Cross Volunteer in the Veterans Wing at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for many years.

She served with the Royal Air Force in the African Front during World War 2 where she met her husband. She then came to Canada in 1946 where the family settled in Toronto. Marilyn died peacefully at home in Campbell River, British Columbia, on February 26, 2008, with Gord and Taffy by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Lorne MADILL and her brother, Dennis MADILL. Marliyn▼ is survived by her loving partner, Gordon IRELAND; her three sons, Jason (Sherri,) Jaret (Aimee) and Josh (Tara); Gordon's daughters, Crystal and Laicie; grandchildren, Braeden, Bradley, Felicity and Rylee. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen (Brian), Kathy (Don), Brian (Gail) and Bill (Sandy;) her first husband, Jeff BYERS; many nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia and her special Friends, Verna, Lorne, Louise, all the Staff of Cheries and Altech, Larry, Colleen, Albert, Colleen and many many Friends. Marilyn was born in Perth, Ontario on December 19, 1954, into a family of 6 children. She started a hairdressing career in Ontario before marrying Jeff BYERS. Together▼ with their 3 sons, they settled in Campbell River in 1980. Marilyn continued to work in her career and eventually owned her own business in Campbell River. Marilyn enjoyed watching her boys in their passions of music, sports and family. She was always the biggest fan. She later learned to enjoy travelling with Gord and loved fishing and boating with Gord and Taffy. They enjoyed entertaining in their home and with their Friends and family. Marilyn lived her life one day at a time and was a friend of Bill W. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Tuesday morning and then to Holy Angel's Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angel's Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 7: 00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Holy Angel's Church Restoration Fund, St. Clement's Parish or Queensway Hospital, Trillium Health Care Centre Courtyard Unit.

Beloved wife of the late John R. STOBO (Dec.▲ 11, 1991) and dearly loved mother of Brian and his wife Thuy▲ STOBO of Bolton, Heather and her husband Ron MADILL of London, Rosalind THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and her partner Pat SALERNO of Caledon and Carolyn STOBO of Toronto. Predeceased by a sister Margaret HAYTER. Sadly▲ missed by 6 grandchildren Kellie, Jeff, Shane, Renee, Kim and Michael and a number of nieces and nephews. Eileen was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on May 24th, 1918, the daughter of the late Captain Angus and Marian (O'TOOLE) MacDONALD. She was a member of St. Clement's Parish Toronto and formerly a member of Saint Peter's in London and Holy Angel's in Saint Thomas and was a former member of the Catholic Women's League. In loving memory of Peter Adolphus MADJIWITA Junior (FLAMAND) - April 16, 1932 - April 11, 2008 - who passed away at his home in Lincoln Park, Michigan on April 11, 2008. The funeral service was conducted on April 14, 2008 at Kerman Funeral Home, Lincoln Park, Michigan followed by interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. Born to Rose MADJIWITA (FLAMAND) and Pierre MADJIWITA in Wikwemikong on April 16, 1932. Pete gained his Pilot Ocean Navigation licence and was a pilot for 21 years with the Upper Great Lake Pilot Association. He became the first North American Indian registered with the Upper Great Lakes Pilot Association. During his career piloting ocean vessels he was provided with the opportunity to visit Belgium, England, India, France and South Africa. Upon retirement he taught Ojibway class at the Windsor Indian Friendship Centre. Beloved husband of Gloria MADJIWITA. Sadly missed by Elsie ARSENAULT (FRANCIS,) Catherine FRANCIS (predeceased,) Wally FRANCIS, Rosemary FRANCIS, Caroline FRANCIS, Michelle ARSENAULT, Christopher ARSENAULT, James ARSENAULT, Steven FRANCIS, Derrick FRANCIS, Kerry-Ann FRANCIS, Jeffrey FRANCIS, and Melanie FRANCIS. SPROULE, Flora Vivian (née McROBERTS)
In loving memory of Flora Vivian (McROBERTS) SPROULE who passed away at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa, on Sunday, April 27, 2008 in her 98th year. Flora, daughter of Gertrude (BRUCE) and Herbert McROBERTS, beloved wife of Harold SPROULE, loving mother of Catherine and son-in-law Elliott BEHARRELL, loving grandmother of Oonagh, Aaron and his wife Laura, and thrilled great-grandmother of Alexander.
Flora was born August 27, 1910 at Tyrone, Ontario, and graduated from Tyrone Public School, Oshawa Collegiate, Toronto Normal School, and The University of Toronto. Before her marriage in 1944, she taught at Maxwell, Cederdale, and Albert Street Schools in Oshawa. She was involved in The Victorian Order of Nurses, Third Oshawa Brownies and Guides, University Women's Club (charter member), and St Andrew's United Church. Travelling, reading, cottage life, gardening, playing bridge and piano brought Flora great delight, but the greatest joy came from close Friends and her beloved family- her grandmothers, parents, aunts, uncles, thirty-nine first cousins, brothers Bruce and Stewart, and their families: Mary McROBERTS, Pam McROBERTS and Neil, Alanna and Brynn OSTVIK, Bob and Susanne, Corey, and Patrick McROBERTS, Donald, Christine, and Mark McROBERTS, Cecil SPROULE, Jim and Marylyn SPROULE, John and Wiebke, Haldon, Dana, and Kelsey SPROULE, Debi SPROULE and George, Taryn, and Breanne SCOTT, Dorcas FULTON and Donald, Nick and Tony MORRISH.
Great thanks to Sheryl WINACOTT, Jan MADSEN, and the teams at Hillsdale Estates for their compassionate care, conversation and laughter. Thanks to Flora's dear neighbours on Primrose Path and to their families for their cheer. You all made a caring community for Flora and her family.
A celebration of Flora's life will be included in a memorial service in the Worship Centre of Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. Interment has taken place.

MADSEN, Belle Noreen

It is with great sadness that Belle MADSEN in her 94th year passed away suddenly at Southlake Regional Health facility in Newmarket, Ontario, on Saturday morning, March 8th. Belle MADSEN departed from this life surrounded by her loving and devoted family, daughters Marcia (Jim PAERG,) Stephanie (John BEAUPRE) and sons Malcom and Rocky (Bridgitte LINNANE.) Grandmother of Steven BOWLES, Jamie BEAUPRE, Luke BEAUPRE, Brooke MULLINS and Adam MADSEN. Belle is also a great-grandmother to Robert BOWLES and Lone MULLINS. Belle was a beautiful, elegant, strong and vibrant self-reliant woman. Among other duties of charity work was also the past President of the Mining Woman's Association. Wife of the late Marius K. MADSEN president and owner of Madsen Red Lake Gold Mines, Superior Sand and Gravel, Honey Pot Ski Resort and the Casa Marie Hotel in Jamaica. Belle MADSEN was a consistent source of energy and whether she was involved in running one of the many companies owned by our late father or hosting a birthday party she was always on the go. Toward the end of her life, Belle became passionate about playing card games. It was truly remarkable how sharp her mind was right until the end. Belle also leaves behind two very dear sisters: Jane SWAIN and Jo PORTER who will miss her persistent mothering as she was the older sister and always let them know that. As we say farewell to this generous, loving and energetic woman we are reminded of just how many people's lives she has touched. She was a matriarch and definitely stood out in a crowd and as everyone she knew would tell you, she never had a problem speaking her mind, you could never go wrong having her in your corner. Although it has been so hard and sad to have had to see her leave this life, she is at peace at last. Reconnecting with our father and brother, Dana who died much too young. We miss you so much mom and know we speak for so many others that have been touched by your entrance into their lives. One day we will all see you again and until then keep playing cards& you owe us a game! Friends may call at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St. (2 lights south of Steeles). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 1 p.m. in our chapel. Cremation to follow.
