DUBYK, Carole " Kay" (née LUSCOMBE)
Of Saint Thomas, passed away on Tuesday, April 15th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late John DUBYK (May 24, 1996) and dearly loved mother of Jo-Anne DUBYK and her partner Jerry BIRCH of Saint Thomas and Mary-Anne and her husband Steve MANSELL of Saint Thomas. Dear sister of Dorothy PROCTOR of Saint Thomas and the late Fred "Sparky" LUSCOMBE and Larry LUSCOMBE. Loved grandmother of Hayley NESBITT (Mike HUMPHRIES) and John NESBITT, Bobby BURROWS Christie IRWIN) and Darren and Kelsey MANSELL. Loved great-grandmother of Hayden BURROWS. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Kay was born in Saint Thomas on July 12th, 1934, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (GILLICK) LUSCOMBE. She worked at McDonald's. A public memorial service to celebrate Kay's life will be held on Friday, April 18th at 1: 00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas. Cremation has taken place. Visitation Friday from 12: 00-1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Peacefully at Middlesex Terrace on Saturday July 12th, 2008, Shirley Margaret WEBB, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Gordon WEBB (1982.) Loving mother of Janice (Nelson) MORPHY, Sylvia (Yogi) SCHIFFER, Lori LUSCOMBE (Terry HUGHES,) predeceased by daughter Nora (Dale) HENDERSON. Loving grandmother to Richard (Anna) MORPHY, Lianne (Glenn) RUBY, Todd (Lori) HENDERSON, Lisa HENDERSON, Nicole (Dave) POWELL, Ryan (Aimee) SCHIFFER, John (Leslie) LUSCOMBE, Marcia LUSCOMBE, and Sarah LUSCOMBE. Special great-grandmother to 16 children. Dear sister-in-law to Margaret ROBSON. Predeceased by her sister Audrey PETERS and brother Harry WARD. Resting at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, with visitation Tuesday July 15th 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A celebration of Shirley's life will be conducted by Rev. Matthew PENNY in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday July 16th, 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow the service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Suddenly in Meaford on Tuesday February 12, 2008 in his 76th year. Mervin LUSH of Temple Hill, son of the late John and 'Annie' (née CASWELL) LUSH. Beloved husband of the former Muriel ROGERS and loving father of Karen and her husband Mike SMITH of Meaford and Brian LUSH, at home, Temple Hill. Sadly missed Papa of Riley SMITH and Chants and Milo LUSH. Dear brother of Wilda LUSH of Meaford, Winnie LUSH and Joan LUSH of Owen Sound, and Ian and his wife Marion LUSH of Etobicoke. Predeceased by a sister Mona and remembered by her husband Gordon BURRELL of Bruderheim, Alberta. Loved son-in-law of Isabel MILLS of Meaford and brother-in-law of Donna and Ron CLARKE of Goring, Doreen and Maarten KEYZER of R.R.#2, Meaford and Laverne and Cathy ROGERS of Meaford and predeceased by a brother-in-law Orville ROGERS of Meaford. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews and their families. Family will receive Friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E. in Meaford on Thursday from 2 to 4 and from 7 until 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be conducted at the Meaford United Church on Friday February 15th at 1: 30 p.m. with interment in the spring at Temple Hill Cemetery. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at The Wenleigh Nursing Home, Mississauga, Ontario. Born May 17, 1925 in Gambo, Newfoundland. Daughter of the late Thomas and Keziah LUSH. Predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years James (2003), her eldest daughter Cavell MORENCY and her grand_son Robbie MORENCY. May devoted her life to her family. She was a wonderful and loving mother to Diane CARAVAN, James (Margo), David (Jane), Carolyn WISCOMBE (Paul,) Roma GUERIN (Paul,) Katherine LATINI (Leo,) and Dean (Alison) and mother-in-law to Jean-Marc MORENCY. Nanny will be greatly missed by her 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister-in-law Winnie LUSH and many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Lawrence, Ken, Ethel, Francis, Clara and Alma. In the last four years May (Mom) faced many challenges due to declining health but fought a valiant battle. We would like to thank the nurses and care providers at The Wenleigh, the nurses and doctors at the Credit Valley Hospital Renal Unit, and the staff at Ambutrans for their care and compassion. A private family service will be held at the Turner and Porter Peel Chapel, 905-279-7663. Interment Saint_John's Dixie Cemetery, Mississauga. Loving father of Rod MOORE, of London, Kathryn MOORE, of Toronto, Dan ELLIS (Janine,) of Owen Sound and Randy ELLIS (Lynn,) of Thunder Bay. Ron will be sadly missed by his grandchildren. LAMER, Doctor Laurent (1931-2008)
Dr. Laurent LAMER passed away peacefully at Notre-Dame Hospital in Montreal after a lengthy illness. Doctor Laurent LAMER dedicated over 40 years of his life to Notre-Dame Hospital's Ophtalmology Department and to the Medicine Faculty of Université de Montréal. Beyond the many patients he has had the privilege of treating, Dr. LAMER was a pioneer of the use of lasers in the treatment of retinal disease and in the use of ocular ultra sound as a diagnostic tool. In recognition of his many contributions to the advancement of medicine, Doctor LAMER was honored and granted a career medal (Médaille de carrière) in 2004 by the Ophtalmology Department and the faculty of medicine of the Université de Montréal. He leaves behind his spouse Jocelyne GAUTHIER, his sons Francis and Olivier, their spouses Bena STOCK and Malene SAABY, his granddaughters Madeleine and Michelle, his grand_sons Sébastien and Simon, Tamarha and Jessie PIERCE (daughters of Jocelyne,) his brothers and sisters Hubert, Jean-Louis, Claudette and Jocelyne, his brothers and sisters in law Fernande LAMER, Rachelle LAMER, Jules JOBIN, Yvon MATTE, Pierrette LUSIGNAN, Jacqueline APRIL, Françoise and Médéric DESROCHERS, Monique APRIL, Hélène APRIL, Luc APRIL et Lois HESS and numerous nephews, nieces, Friends and colleagues. The family will receive condolences on Monday and Tuesday June 9 and 10, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home, 1255 Beaumont, Town of Mount Royal.
