LOPES, Zaira (née FRANCISCO)
Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services, on Wednesday, February 13th, 2008. Zaira FRANCISCO- LOPES, of Owen Sound, died in her 63rd year. She was the dearly beloved wife of the late John LOPES and the daughter of Maria FRANCISCO and the late Armando FRANCISCO. Zaira was the loving mother of Jason LOPES and his partner, Darcy TREMBLAY, of Toronto and John LOPES and his wife, Nancy, of London. Zaira will be sadly missed by her sister, Angela RANKIN, of Owen Sound and her brothers, Manuel FRANCISCO and his wife, Linda, of Sault Ste. Marie, Tony FRANCISCO and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Windsor and Jaime FRANCISCO, of Tillsonburg. Nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Friends may call at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen Sound, (519-376-7492) on Friday from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 554 - 15th Street East, Owen Sound on Saturday, February 16th, 2008 at 9: 00 a.m. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Owen Sound. The Vigil for the Deceased will be offered at the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday evening at 7: 30 p.m. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to Saint Mary's Church or the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.

MacCOLL, Beulah Sarah Jane (née FISHER)
Passed peacefully away at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia on Monday, April 14. She was the beloved wife of the late Hugh (Barney) MacCOLL (1989.) Beulah was born on February 05, 1913 on the 10th Line East (Petrolia Line) to Margaret (McLEAN) and Walter FISHER. She attended church in her early years at St. Andrew's Brooke and Enniskillen United Church and attended school on the Tenth Line. In her early twenties she moved to Regina to live with her grandfather George FISHER. Upon returning she met and married her husband Barney in 1938 and lived in Petrolia. They purchased a house on Greenfield Street in 1947 where she lived until 2003 when she moved to Fiddick's Retirement Home. Shortly after Barney's illness in the 50's she returned to high school and completed her commercial diploma, then obtaining employment at a local bank until he was able to return to work at Polymer several years later. She was an active member of many organizations including a monthly Bridge Club, the Girl Guides of Canada, the Elizabeth Council of the Universal Craftsmen Council of Engineers, the Petrolia and Enniskillen Fair Board and the Central Enniskillen Women's Institute. She has been a participating member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for 69 years. She was an avid quilter, teaching both her daughters to quilt and producing quilts for all her grandchildren. In her 80's she learned to tole paint and spent many enjoyable hours painting various projects. She loved to knit and continued this hobby until the last month of her life. Beulah attended many exercise classes which she said kept her flexible and in good health. Her many trips with Charlie were a special pastime and she attained her goal of visiting both the east and west coasts of Canada. Beulah was the last surviving member of a family of eight. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers Delores (Fred) EVOY, Clayton (Gwen) FISHER, Don (Lou) FISHER, Jerry FISHER (killed in action in France in World War 2), Gwendolyn FISHER, Arlie FISHER and Wayne (Donna) FISHER and Catherine FISHER. Beulah is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters Lynne (Arthur) WHITE/WHYTE of Corunna and Claire (Robert) LUMLEY of Marthaville. She was special "Grandma Beulah" to her 6 grandchildren Erin (Carolyn) WHITE/WHYTE, Erika (Jaime) LOPES, Errol WHITE/WHYTE, Janice LEWIS, Jill (Mike) CURRAN and Mark (Debbie) LUMLEY. Her great-grandchildren were a source of immense enjoyment in her later years - Kaylee WHITE/WHYTE, Reis and Reina LOPES, Jordan and Chelsea LEWIS, Jessica and Justin CURRAN, and Mackenzie and Luke LUMLEY. A celebration of Beulah's life and funeral service will be held at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia, on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 2 o'clock, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. Rev. George BELL officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia. Due to Beulah's lifelong commitment to her church, expressions of sympathy through donations to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Petrolia or the Fiddick's Nursing Home Activity Fund would be appreciated. VAISLER, Sari (née GASCO)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sari VAISLER (née GASCO) on Monday, February 18, 2008 in her 88th year. Sari passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Sydney, and by her sister, Florence RUBIN. Loving mother to Barry and Wendi, Elissa and Irving, Shelley and Kenny. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Shannon, Kelly, Sean, Ryan, Bram and Rachel, Eric and Adam, as well as her brother Sydney GASCO. Sari was foremost, a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was so proud of her family, as we were of her. She was a pillar of strength to us all, until the end. Our family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Harle and the Palliative Care team, who helped us care for Sari at home, which was her wish. Our heartfelt thanks to Mary WELLMAN, Hermelinda LOPEZ and Yolanda MORENO, who have been our angels, and Sari's loving companions. Words cannot express our gratitude. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 1 p.m. at Or Shalom Synagogue, 534 Huron Street. Interment Or Shalom Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at 250 Sydenham Street, Apt. 411 Wednesday evening only, service at 7 p.m. Donations in memory of Sari can be made to Or Shalom Synagogue. LOPEZ ASCENCIO, Manuel
Peacefully, on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at McCormick Home, Manuel LOPEZ ASCENCIO passed away in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Maria Marcelina Hernandez. Loving father of Marina, Bertila, Santos, Oscar, Hilario and Anastacio. Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Survived by his daughters Esperanza, Magdalena and Maximina and many relatives in El Salvador. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 46 Cathcart Street, London, on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10 a.m. (with visitation one hour prior). Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Died peacefully after a long and healthy life on April 12, 2008 in London, Ontario. She was born April 25, 1903 in Christchurch, England. Predeceased by her husband John J. HALL (1954,) daughter Joan I. PEARSON (2007,) daughter-in-law Winifred HALL (2004) and granddaughter Audrey RENDELL- READ (2004.) Norah will be lovingly remembered by her son Jeffrey I. HALL of England, son-in-law Robert M. PEARSON, grandchildren David PEARSON (Rose Marie,) Elizabeth LOPEZ (Julio,) great-grandchildren Julio LOPEZ (Claire TACON) and David LOPEZ, grandniece Patricia RIEHL (Peter) and family of London, grand_son Ivan RENDELL- READ (Merle) and family of England, cousin Jean RASHLEY of England, and many other relatives and Friends. Of Chesley, passed away at Parkview Manor on Thursday, February 14, 2008 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Jozef “Joe” STRBA. Cherished mother of John and his wife Muriel of Owen Sound and Mary and her husband Edward WITZKE of Chesley. Loving grandmother of Joseph, Melinda, Kimberley, Beverley, Valerie, John “Jay”, Douglas, David, Dennis and Diana. Annie will be missed by her eighteen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Josef “Joe&rdquo (1935-1953) and her parents, Jozef and Josefina (LOPINSKIE) SLIVKA.
