LIVINGSTONE,
Audrey
Louise
Audrey will be lovingly remembered by her children Virginia (Ray)
and Donald (Melanie), and by her grandchildren Brendan and Spencer,
of whom she was extraordinarily proud. She was predeceased by
her husband James, whom she had married in 1949.
She grew up in Alberta during the depression and although she
left to become a Women's Royal Naval Service during World War 2,
a strong prairie ethos, including a fierce sense of independence,
pride, and determination, defined the rest of her life.
Her world was built around her family and its demands. She was
always resolute in her support of its members and ensured that
they had opportunity for growth and success irrespective of her
personal needs or burdens.
Her later life was sadly marked by failing health and disability
but she remained optimistic and determined despite progressive
immobility until her final illness.
A private burial ceremony for family members will occur on Saturday,
March 8, 2008; a memorial gathering will be held in the spring
for Friends and family at a time and location that will be announced
at a later date.
Special thanks are offered to Cecille Lehal who provided compassion
and loving care during the last few months of her life.
Donations, if desired, may be made to the Arthritis Society.
