HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON,
Margarita
Margarita passed away on April 29th, 2008 after a five-year fight
against multiple myeloma. Margarita was born July 22, 1948 and
lived in Owen Sound; the longest and most satisfying time of
her shortened life. She is survived by her beloved husband William
and her children Tiffany of Vancouver, Adam of California and
Cassandra and her husband Kevin
IRWIN of Kitchener. She was the
proud grandmother of Ethan, Max and Ryan
IRWIN of Kitchener.
Also survived by her mother Marie
LIEKNINS of Owen Sound and
her brother Uldis and his wife Lynda and their children Ellen,
David and Christina. Margarita engaged life, full of passion
throughout her many endevours. As a graduate of Humber College,
her flare for colour in the fashion world was evident in the
twelve years that she owned and operated Wray's Ladies Wear.
Special thanks to the dedicated souls who run the Oncology Unit
in Owen Sound led by Doctor
QAWI and her wonderful support team.
The personal support and love demonstrated by Doctor
HUFF will never
be forgotten. There were many good times during Margarita's five-year
fight against cancer; all due to the efforts of the wonderful
health network in the Owen Sound area and the care and knowledge
of the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. We are
truly blessed. Margarita will be missed greatly by all who had
the opportunity to share moments of her life. A private family
funeral has taken place. Donations for the fight against cancer
would be appreciated and may be made through the Tannahill Funeral
Home 519-376-3710.

Mitchell student among dead in van that sank
By Canadian Press, Wed., February 6, 2008
Barry's Bay -- Two students -- one from Mitchell -- whose bodies
were recovered from a van that crashed through the ice on a lake
in eastern Ontario have been identified.
Janine LIEU, 22, of Vancouver and Paul
SANDERS, 24, of Mitchell,
were trapped in the vehicle after it went through the ice on
Kamaniskeg Lake near Barry's Bay Saturday.
The two were students at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy, a small,
Catholic, liberal arts post-secondary institution in Barry's
Bay, about two hours northwest of Ottawa.
Provincial police say the van had four people inside when it
went through the ice on Saturday afternoon.
Two others students at the same school were able to make it to
shore, but the other two didn't make it out.
It's not clear why they were driving the minivan on the frozen
lake. School officials the students were out on a shopping trip
during a school break.
