from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary's
Catholic Church, 345 Lyle Street at York Street on Thursday morning
at 11 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum at Saint Peter's
Cemetery. Prayers Wednesday evening at 8: 15 p.m. If desired,

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our
father, mentor, friend, son and brother, Frederic Charles
COLES,
on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the age of 64 years after a courageous
battle with cancer. Fred spent 36 years as a Petroleum Engineer
in the Calgary Oil and Gas Industry significantly contributing
to the development of GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd. and
to the growth of several Junior Oil and Gas Corporations, Trusts,
and Capital Corporations through his contributions as a member
of their Boards of Directors. Fred has touched many individuals
through his endless ability to give of himself, a trait that
will be sorely missed by so many. Besides his friend Joyce McKinney,
Fred is survived by children, Warren (Nicole
LIBOIRON-
COLES)
and Karin (Stephen
KELBA;) his grandchildren, Richard
KELBA,
Alexander KELBA,
Jackson
COLES and Rhianna
KELBA. Fred is also
survived by his mother Marjorie, brother Ron, sister Shirley
PENNER and former wife
Sharon
THOMAS. In 1974, Fred was predeceased
by his father, Charles Louis
COLES.
Over the past eleven years
Fred worked tirelessly as the chair and cochair of the Tom Baker
Cancer Centre Annual Charity Golf Classic and he would like to
thank all of the dedicated staff and doctors at the Tom Baker
Cancer Centre for their commitment and devotion. Fred also made
significant efforts towards the Save The Family Foundation of
Arizona over the past five years. The family would also like
to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Tom Baker Cancer
Centre for their care and compassion over the past eleven years.
A Celebration of Fred's Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain
View Funeral Home on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. In lieu
of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Fred's name directly
to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary,
