Of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the
Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg
at the age of 86. Shirley was in Wallaceburg and was a son of
the late Gordon P. "Pat" and Mary Josephine
(KIERAN)
PATTERSON.
He was a former owner of the family Chrysler Dealership in Wallaceburg
"Patterson Motors". Shirley was a member of the Saint_James Anglican
Church, in Wallaceburg. He was a charter member of the Wallaceburg
Optimist Club and Wallaceburg Power Squadron. A member of the
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18 in Wallaceburg, the Pnyx Lodge,
Mocha Temple and the Royal Canadian Naval Association. Shirley
dedicated his life to his country during World War 2 and served
as a lieutenant in the R.C.N.V.R. seeing action in the North
Atlantic and the English Channel. Shirley also served on the
Wallaceburg Public School Board, the Wallaceburg Planning Committee,
the Sydenham Valley Conservation Authority and Chrysler Canada
Ltd. Dealer Council. In 1983 Shirley was given the award of Wallaceburg
Citizen of the Year. In 1996 he was inducted into the Wallaceburg
Sports

a civilian mechanic for 11 years. He was a member of the Royal
Canadian Army Service Corps, Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical
Engineers, Blue Beret, Federal Superannuates National Association
Associations and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #119, Ingersoll.

Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment
in Hanover Cemetery.

1951-1980. He was a 60 year member of Victory Lodge #465, Belmont,
served in every office. Past Noble Gran, Past Grand Master. He
was member Encampment Elgin #20 and transferred to Harmony London #3.

the Department Council of Ontario Patriarchs Militant, I.O.O.F.
2003-2004. Member of Saint_James Presbyterian Church, served on
the Board of Managers, was an Elder, Clerk of Session and sang
in the choir. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street,
Saint Thomas until Saturday morning and then to Saint_James Presbyterian
Church where funeral service will be held at 11: 00 a.m. Interment
to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 7-9 and
Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held
at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6: 45 p.m. by Officers
and Members of Victory Lodge #465, Belmont. Remembrances may
be made to Saint_James Presbyterian Church, the Oddfellows Heart
Equipment Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.

was an avid skier, golfer, squash player and all time 'Tinkerer'
(he claimed he could 'fix' anything). He graduated from University
of Toronto where he met Barbara. He worked for many years with
Cabot Carbon of Canada, in Toronto and upon retiring, moved to
Kitchener Waterloo. He was a dedicated volunteer at Community
Care Access Centre and sat on many committees at Luther Village
on the Park. The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary
kindness and professional care he received during his stay at
Saint Mary's Hospital. At Bill's request, there will be a quiet
immediate family only service, followed by visitation on Thursday
May 8th, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. at Erb and Good Family Funeral Home,
171 King Street South, Waterloo 519-745-8445. A celebration of
his life will take place in Toronto near the end of May. Details
will be posted in the Globe and Mail prior to. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to Saint Mary's Hospital or Sleeping Children
Around the World.

Elizabeth LACKIE passed away peacefully at her home in Oak Bay
Lodge. Betty was born in Otley, Yorkshire, England and emigrated
to Collingwood, Ontario, Canada with her parents Richard and
Annie DAWSON in 1929. She also lived in Noranda, and Montreal,
Quebec, as well as Brantford and Toronto, Ontario. She worked
for most of her life as a stenographer and secretary and married
her late husband Earle in Toronto. She retired to Victoria about
15 years ago. Betty is survived by her brother Bob

Columbia and her sister Nancy
DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS of Thornhill,
Ontario as well as numerous nephews, nieces and grand nieces
and nephews to whom "Auntie Betty" was, and still is, a very
special auntie.

Services, 4725 Falaise Dr, Saanich, British Columbia at 10: 00 a.m.
on Tuesday June 17 for family and Friends to celebrate Betty's
life and times.
