At Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, June 27, 2008. Ted LAFORGE of Aylmer in his 81st year. Beloved husband of 30 years to Jean LACASSE. Dear father of Linda DORR and husband Warren of Mt. Hope, Robert LAFORGE of Mt. Hope, Rod LAFORGE and wife Rosanne of Tillsonburg, Sandy LAFORGE of Saint Thomas, Brenda LAFORGE of Saint Thomas. Step-father of Jack LACASSE and wife Hilda of Aylmer, Claire LABONTE and partner Edward SAHAGIAN of Saint Thomas, Nicole JODOIN of Timmins, Guy LACASSE and wife Roseann of Saint Thomas. Also survived by his former wife Doris LAFORGE of Saint Thomas, life-long friend Bill MUDGE and wife Simone and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brother of Fran HAYDEN. Predeceased by brothers Buster and Charlie LAFORGE and sisters Jessie WINKWORTH, Bert LOUKS, Hazel HILL, Alice HERRMANS, Millie McPHAIL, Lillian DEFAUW, Kay COLUMBUS, Lena and Dot LAFORGE. Born in St. Williams on October 26, 1927. Ted grew tobacco for a number of years and in retirement he will he remembered by many from the Aylmer area as the bicycle man. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. where the memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation has taken place with interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Rev. PATTERSON, Shirley Gordon
Of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg at the age of 86. Shirley was in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Gordon P. "Pat" and Mary Josephine (KIERAN) PATTERSON. He was a former owner of the family Chrysler Dealership in Wallaceburg "Patterson Motors". Shirley was a member of the Saint_James Anglican Church, in Wallaceburg. He was a charter member of the Wallaceburg Optimist Club and Wallaceburg Power Squadron. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18 in Wallaceburg, the Pnyx Lodge, Mocha Temple and the Royal Canadian Naval Association. Shirley dedicated his life to his country during World War 2 and served as a lieutenant in the R.C.N.V.R. seeing action in the North Atlantic and the English Channel. Shirley also served on the Wallaceburg Public School Board, the Wallaceburg Planning Committee, the Sydenham Valley Conservation Authority and Chrysler Canada Ltd. Dealer Council. In 1983 Shirley was given the award of Wallaceburg Citizen of the Year. In 1996 he was inducted into the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame. Beloved husband of Peggy (SMITH) PATTERSON. Dear father and father-in-law of David and Bonnie PATTERSON of Wallaceburg and Jane and Paul GILLIS of Mississauga. Loving grandfather of Melissa, Brad, Laura, Daniel and Mark. Kind brother of Sheila LACEY of London. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg, on Saturday, March 22 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. One hour of Visitation will take place prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Rita will be missed and lovingly remembered by her nieces: Joan NICHOLSON (Jack), Tone DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS (David), Mary FOELL (Greg) and nephews: Michael WEATHERHEAD (Eugenia,) Emmet WEATHERHEAD (Mary,) Wayne WEATHERHEAD (Teresa), Frank LAURIA (Sandra), Peter LAURIA and Leonard LACEY (Bernadette) as well as great-nieces and great-nephews and their families and Friends. Rita was employed with the Toronto Chapter - Knights of Columbus as office manager for over 40 years. Predeceased by her husband Francis Wilfred (1967). Loving mother of Dinase HOWLETT, Estelle IURMAN (Aldo), Jacques, Bernadette THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Francis (Patricia) all of London, Lucille DRAPEAU, Fernand (Helene), Yvonne LACHAPELLE (Aurele), Roger, Gilles (Jeanne), Ella CHARLEBOIS (Jean Claude) all of Iroquois Falls. Age 87, of London, passed away at Parkwood Hospital, on Saturday, March 29, 2008. He was born in Lowestoft, England and came to Canada in 1920. son of the late Leonard and Grace (EDWARDS) BEESON. Beloved husband of Isabelle (McKAY- BROWN) BEESON. Survived by two daughters: Norma Jean and her husband Melvin LE LACHEUR, and Dianne BEESON, and son Edward and his wife Pamela, all of Nova Scotia. He was the grandfather of 7 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Norman and Leonard. Edward served 33 years with the Canadian army, overseas World War II, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and United Nations Emergency Force, retiring as a Master Warrant Officer. He took leave for a year then returned to Base Maintenance as a civilian mechanic for 11 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Blue Beret, Federal Superannuates National Association Associations and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #119, Ingersoll. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. with a Legion service at 7: 00 p.m. under the auspices of the Duchess of Kent Branch #263 at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 1: 00 p.m. Pastor Dorman QUINTON and Pastor Dave STEPHENS of Egerton Baptist Church officiating. Father of Julia VAN DER AA and husband John of Mitchell, Fred LOCKING and his wife Bonnie of Arthur, Percy LOCKING, Donna and Cathy. Stepfather to Sheila HOFFMAN and Don HOFFMAN. Loving and proud Papa of Carey and her husband Chris BRUBACHER of Moorefield and Karen and her husband Jamie RAFTIS of Moorefield. Grandfather of Derek CHERREY, Tanya POL; Nicholas LOCKING, Mark LOCKING and Kristopher LOCKING Brenda MILLER of Hanover and Tammy and her husband Todd HARRIS of Owen Sound. Howard was born in Hanover on March 4, 1927, being one of six children of George and Annie (NEWTON) LOCKING. He loved animals and outside of farming spent his younger years in trucking and construction business. He was an avid horse lover, owning many, and was a familiar face around the local racetracks.
A time of remembrance will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 10 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
In Howard's memory, expressions of sympathy to the Humane Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society were appreciated.

Predeceased by 2 brothers Raymond and Leonard and a sister Eleanor WALLACE (2007.) Loved grandfather of Ammie, Bradley, Rebecca, Carrie, Kirk, Mark, Randy, Matthew, Steven, Tamara, Alyssa and Dallas and great-grandfather of Xavier, Mason, Zachery, Marissa, Willem, Owen and Marissa. Russell was born in Port Talbot on April 25th, 1923, the son of the late Archie and Ruby (CAMERON) LUNN. He farmed on Crossley-Hunter Line from 1951-1980. He was a 60 year member of Victory Lodge #465, Belmont, served in every office. Past Noble Gran, Past Grand Master. He was member Encampment Elgin #20 and transferred to Harmony London #3. London Canton #1, Department Commander, Brigadier General of the Department Council of Ontario Patriarchs Militant, I.O.O.F. 2003-2004. Member of Saint_James Presbyterian Church, served on the Board of Managers, was an Elder, Clerk of Session and sang in the choir. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Saturday morning and then to Saint_James Presbyterian Church where funeral service will be held at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6: 45 p.m. by Officers and Members of Victory Lodge #465, Belmont. Remembrances may be made to Saint_James Presbyterian Church, the Oddfellows Heart Equipment Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.

William Lindsay LEACH/LEECH/LEITCH (Bill,) passed away peacefully, with family by his side on Sunday May 4th, 2008 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, after a long struggle with Inclusion Body Myositis. Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara Ann LEACH/LEECH/LEITCH for over 55 years, loving and devoted father of Thomas B. LEACH/LEECH/LEITCH, his wife Carol of Stittsville, and granddaughters Victoria and Rebecca, daughter Lindsay A. LACKIE of Cambridge and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Virginia Kate and fiancé Rob BOOTH, Andrew and Ian, and daughter Kate D. LEACH/LEECH/LEITCH of Toronto. Favourite uncle to Stephen and A. Ryder (Sandy) KINSMAN of Montreal and Suzanne CARLAW of Midhurst. He was predeceased by his sister, Aubrey Ellen KINSMAN and great niece Victoria KINSMAN of Montreal. Growing up in Montreal he was an avid skier, golfer, squash player and all time 'Tinkerer' (he claimed he could 'fix' anything). He graduated from University of Toronto where he met Barbara. He worked for many years with Cabot Carbon of Canada, in Toronto and upon retiring, moved to Kitchener Waterloo. He was a dedicated volunteer at Community Care Access Centre and sat on many committees at Luther Village on the Park. The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary kindness and professional care he received during his stay at Saint Mary's Hospital. At Bill's request, there will be a quiet immediate family only service, followed by visitation on Thursday May 8th, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. at Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo 519-745-8445. A celebration of his life will take place in Toronto near the end of May. Details will be posted in the Globe and Mail prior to. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Mary's Hospital or Sleeping Children Around the World.

LACKIE, Elizabeth (née DAWSON)
(November 2, 1919 to June 8, 2008)
Elizabeth LACKIE passed away peacefully at her home in Oak Bay Lodge. Betty was born in Otley, Yorkshire, England and emigrated to Collingwood, Ontario, Canada with her parents Richard and Annie DAWSON in 1929. She also lived in Noranda, and Montreal, Quebec, as well as Brantford and Toronto, Ontario. She worked for most of her life as a stenographer and secretary and married her late husband Earle in Toronto. She retired to Victoria about 15 years ago. Betty is survived by her brother Bob DAWSON of Victoria, British Columbia and her sister Nancy DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS of Thornhill, Ontario as well as numerous nephews, nieces and grand nieces and nephews to whom "Auntie Betty" was, and still is, a very special auntie.
A short memorial service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Dr, Saanich, British Columbia at 10: 00 a.m. on Tuesday June 17 for family and Friends to celebrate Betty's life and times.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Jo for nearly 65 years. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Jenefer (Barry RICE) Nelson, British Columbia; Sheila (John TUTTY) Caledon, Ontario and Jill (Louis LACOURSIÈRE) Saint-Lambert, Québec; and by his grandchildren, Danica (Cameron FULTON,) Nikki (Christopher WARREN,) Erin and Michael TUTTY, Etienne LACOURSIÈRE (Olivia,) Philippe LACOURSIÈRE (Stéfanie,) and by his great-grandchildren, Ellexi, Ellia and Bruneau. He is survived by his brother Denis (Beckenham, Kent, England). John served in the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant, Fleet Air Arm, during World War 2. In 1949 he emigrated to Canada. He worked in the aeronautical field and in insurance and real estate.
