KYDD, George Robert " Bob"
Peacefully at Chateau Gardens on April 22, 2008 George Robert "Bob" KYDD of London in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Edith KYDD (1994.) Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by Kathy and Marion CORNELL and their families. Bob was predeceased by his sisters Marion JOHNSON and Beulah WITMORE. The funeral service will be held in the Needham Funeral Chapel (520 Dundas Street, London) on Saturday April 26, 2008 at 2 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment to take place in Dauphin Manitoba. Memorial donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated.

O'SHAUGHNESSY, Frank
In his 89th year passed away suddenly on July 7, 2008. A very kind, loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his late wife Gladys (2002); daughter Fay and son-in-law Bill KYDD; their daughters Charlene (Kim PICKERING) and Melissa (John SOMERTON;) and great-grandchildren Angelina and Shawna PICKERING, William and Cole SOMERTON. He was very caring, had an amazing sense of humour and was a good friend to many. Frank joined the HMS Ganges at the age of 15. During World War 2 he transferred to the Fleet Air Arm and served in this branch of the navy until 1945 as a Chief Petty Officer. He and his family came to Canada in 1951 where he enjoyed a great life with his family. Frank was a long standing member of the Ailsa Craig Legion. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Frank are asked to consider the Ailsa Craig Legion or the London Humane Society. MERIFIELD, Helen Margaret (née KYDD) (1917-2008)
It is with sadness that we announce Helen passed away peacefully on February 11th. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late Russell Roy MERIFIELD. Cherished mother of Russell, Elizabeth (Dario GALINDO) and Thomas (Linda.) Proud grandmother of Marion and step-grand_son, Simon. Loving sister of Elizabeth SHARPE and the late Sam KYDD, and sister-in-law to Doctor Jeanne BECK. Helen was born on July 26, 1917 in Campbellford, Ontario and attended schools in Orillia, Port Colborne and Ottawa before entering McGill University, where she graduated with a B.A. and High School Teaching Diploma in 1939. At McGill, she was President of her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and was President of the McGill Glee Club. She taught at Montreal West High School during World War 2, before retiring to become a mother and full time homemaker. In Montreal, her altruistic activities included Town of Mount Royal Presbyterian Church, University Settlement, Montreal Rehabilitation Institute and Royal Victoria Hospital. Moving with her husband to Toronto in 1967, she became an active member of Glenview Presbyterian Church, Goodwill Industries and the North York University Women's Club. Her gracious, friendly manner endeared her to all who met her, and she fitted easily into associations with persons in all walks of life. An eternal optimist, she saw the best in every situation and was seldom disappointed. Friends may call at the Trull 'North Toronto' Funeral Home, 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence) on Thursday, February 14th from 2: 00 p.m. to 4: 00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Glenview Presbyterian Church, 1 Glenview Avenue (3 blocks south of Lawrence, west of Yonge) on Friday, February 15th at 11: 00 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband near their summer home in Magog, Quebec. Donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society or Sunnybrook and Women's Foundation. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff at Cummer Lodge and the caregivers from Homestead Careproviders.
