It is with great sadness that we announce that Marilyn
BYERS
has passed away, following a long battle with cancer. Marilyn
died peacefully at home in Campbell River, British Columbia,
on February 26, 2008, with Gord and Taffy by her side. She was
predeceased by her parents, Emma and Lorne
MADILL and her brother,
Dennis MADILL.
Marliyn is survived by her loving partner, Gordon
IRELAND; her three sons, Jason (Sherri,) Jaret (Aimee) and Josh
(Tara); Gordon's daughters, Crystal and Laicie; grandchildren,
Braeden, Bradley, Felicity and Rylee. She is also survived by
her siblings, Karen and (Brian
EBEL,)
Cathy
(Don
KIVELL,) Bryan
(Gail) and Bill (Sandy;) her first husband, Jeff
BYERS; many
nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia and her special
Friends, Verna, Lorne, Louise, all the Staff of Cheries and Altech,
Larry, Colleen, Albert, Colleen and many many Friends. Marilyn
was born in Perth, Ontario on December 19, 1954, into a family
of 6 children. She started a hairdressing career in Ontario before
marrying Jeff
BYERS.
Together with their 3 sons, they settled
in Campbell River in 1980. Marilyn continued to work in her career
and eventually owned her own business in Campbell River. Marilyn
enjoyed watching her boys in their passions of music, sports
and family. She was always the biggest fan. She later learned
to enjoy travelling with Gord and loved fishing and boating with
Gord and Taffy. They enjoyed entertaining in their home and with
their Friends and family. Marilyn lived her life one day at a
time and was a friend of Bill W. A Service to Celebrate Marilyn's
Life will be held at Sutton's Funeral Home, 502 South Dogwood
Street, Campbell River, British Columbia, on Saturday, March 8,
2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Doctor John Krell officiating. A Reception
will follow the Service at the Elks Hall, adjacent to Sutton's.
Cremation entrusted to Mission Hill Crematorium. In lieu of flowers,
if Friends so desire, donations in Memory of Marilyn may be made

Funeral Service will be conducted from the Shallow Lake United
Church
Saturday morning at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. Ted
DAVEY officiating.
Interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake following cremation. Memorial
contributions to the Shallow Lake United Church, Ontario Heart and
Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated
as your expression of sympathy. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6
Owen Sound held a memorial service at the funeral home Friday
afternoon at 1: 45 p.m. Messages of condolence for the family
are welcome at www.downsandsonfuneralhome.com. A tree will be
planted in the Memorial Forest of the Grey Sauble Conservation
Foundation in memory of Clancy by the Downs and son Funeral Home.

Ann
Merike, beloved, daughter of Henry and sister of Lea, passed
away in Toronto Saturday, March 29, 2008. Had successful career
in financial marketing, provided service work for Toastmasters
International, was a talented, creative artist and gourmet cook.
Predeceased by loving mother Vaike.
