Beloved wife of the late Clifford Daniel TAILOR/TAYLOR (1997.) Dear sister-in-law of Margaret (TAILOR/TAYLOR) and Bill JORDAN of Kerwood, Grace (TAILOR/TAYLOR) GLITHERO of Strathroy, Kathleen TAILOR/TAYLOR of Strathroy, Helen TAILOR/TAYLOR of Strathroy and Lillian McNEIL of Thamesford. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John A. and Sarah Belle (GATES) McNEIL, sister Jessica (McNEIL) CRUICKSHANK, brothers Bruce and Hector McNEIL, brothers-in-law; Clayton, Grant and Donald TAILOR/TAYLOR, Ben GLITHERO, Raymond CRUICKSHANK, sister-in-law Florence McNEIL and loving nephews; John Ray CRUICKSHANK, Ian McNEIL, Barry McNEIL, Robert Angus McNEIL, Stewart McNEIL and Leonard McNEIL. Lois was a life member of the Napier Women's Institute and Honourary Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society. Resting at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Sunday, February 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25 at 1: 30 p.m. with Rev. Charles SEED officiating. Interment in Strathroy Cemetery. A Women's Institute Memorial Service was held Sunday at 1: 45 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (Strathroy or Napier) or your charity of choice would be appreciated. JORDAN, James Sidney
Died peacefully on June 8th, 2008 at 89 Years of Age. Born February 13, 1919 at 3: 17 p.m. at Wellesley Hospital Toronto to Doctor Dennis and Marguerite JORDAN, he is survived by son Dennis and wife Cathy of Huntsville; son Jamie and wife Meg of Huntsville, and daughter Mary and husband Carl of Toronto; by his grandchildren: Dennis, Patrick, Andrew, Megan, Benjamie, Sarah and Jordan; and by 3 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Evan and Jadon and almost by a 4th, James, due any day. He is pre-deceased by his first wife Margery Elizabeth, neé GERALD, whom he loved more than words can say. Prior to graduating from Upper Canada College, he was expelled from Public School for 'accidentally' tossing a lit firecracker into his Principal's hair. In 1939, he set aside pre-med studies at U. of T. to enlist in the Royal Canadian Air Force Trained as an Observer he was stationed in England. In 1940 he and his entire crew survived a 25 mission tour. They volunteered for a 2nd tour on condition they remain intact as a group. He spent the remainder of the war training pilots in Canada. After the war Jim built and ran a resort in Huntsville called Ski Jump Inn until it was expropriated in 1977. Jim was a faithful Rotarian who attended his last meeting only 2 weeks ago with the help of his loyal friend Bill McDONNELL. He was President of the club in 1961 and most proud of leading Rotary's creation of the Pioneer Village. He was a school trustee in his beloved Stephenson Township; President of the Hospital Board an elder at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church; President of the Muskoka Housing Authority; President of Muskoka Tourism Board and founder and President of the Huntsville Poker Club. He was an active member of the Liberal Party of Canada gaining the nomination in 1962 for Parry Sound Muskoka. Hugh MacKenzie referred to Jim as "The Senator from Stephenson Township". After the Inn was expropriated, Jim became a Real Estate Agent ending up at Royal Lepage and going on to become President of the Muskoka Real Estate Board. Larry Ireland, Gary Smith and Debbie Renton were loyal Friends last visiting him only days before his passing. Jim was a wonderful husband, a good father, a loving grandfather and astonished to be a great-grandfather. He believed in service to others and was famous for his marvelous sense of humour. In lieu of flowers, Jim would want donations to be made to the Toronto Power Wheelchair Hockey League, c/o Carl LAVOIE, CBRE, 2001 Sheppard Avenue E., Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario. M2J 4Z8. Visitation will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home in Huntsville on Wednesday, June 11th from 4 until 6: 30 p.m. The funeral will be held at Trinity United Church, Huntsville on Thursday, June 12th at 11 am.

JORDON, George R.S.
After a rich, full and adventurous life, George passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2005, peacefully at home on a beautiful, sunny day surrounded by his family. He was in his 48th year. He fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past six years of his life. Those who know him would know not to cry for him, but to smile and celebrate his life. Beloved husband of Julia. Proud father of Peter and Katie. He will be missed by brothers John (Luba) and Dave (Linda), and sisters Christine (Dan) and Barb (Dave) and his many nieces and nephews. George will also be missed by his extended family and many Friends. George was an active member of the community, leaving his mark on Unionville with the many homes he built with pride. George was known for his unique and contagious sense of humour. He was a man of endless integrity and generous spirit. He was fiercely loyal to family and Friends. His grace and strength was such an immense presence, it will continue to radiate on the lives he touched. He will be sadly missed. Dorothy passed away at Lisaard House hospice in Cambridge, Ontario on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the age of 75. Dorothy will be remembered for her compassion and for her love of life. Founder and President, Dale's Carpentry. At the Grey-Bruce Health Services in Southampton, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 25th, 2008, at the age of 65 years, Dale CHAPPELL, of Saugeen Shores, husband and best friend for 46 years of the former Carol CAREFOOT, dear father of Kim, and Terry and his wife Tina, all of Saugeen Shores, Grandpa to Brittney KING and Ricardo JORGE of Hanover, Megan and Ashley KING, and Kenton and Travis CHAPPELL. Also surviving are two step-granddaughters Leia and her husband Eric, and Lauren and her husband Jason, and three step-great-granddaughters. Dale is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bev and Walter HYDE of Manitoulin Island, by two nephews Richard and Paul HYDE, and by two nieces Christy MacKAY and Tammy COBEAN. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Mary CHAPPELL, and by his brother Don. Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday evening, May 27th. Funeral service will be conducted in Port Elgin United Church on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gordon WILLIAMS officiating. Peacefully at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 with family at her side. Madeline ZIMMER (née WARDLE) in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Clark ZIMMER (1993.) Loving mother of Cathy (Cor) VANDERELST of Mount Brydges, Mary (Tom) HUMPHREY, Betty Lou (Doug) CHISHOLM, Marilyn (Allan) HODGSON, Frankie (Dean) CAMPBELL all of Strathroy and John ZIMMER of Chatham. Survived by brother-in-law Paul SMITH of Long Point and brothers Frank (Madeline) WARDLE of London and Tom (Ruth Ann) WARDLE of Mount Brydges. Also sadly missed by grandchildren Marty (Brenda) VANDERELST, Lori (Rich) SINCLAIR, and Christopher ZIMMER all of Mount Brydges, Annette MONTEIRO, Michael CAMPBELL and his partner Nicole JORIS, Deanna CAMPBELL and her partner Jason BREEDON, Jeff HUMPHREY and Heidi ZIMMER all of Strathroy, Vicky HUMPHREY of Petrolia and Nathan MONTEIRO of Strathroy.
