SLATER, Alan James
At Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Alan James SLATER of Goderich in his 57th year. Alan will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Celeste Joy SLATER; sons and daughter-in-law Christopher ALAN and Kathryn of Vancouver, British Columbia and Eric JAMES of Brookswood, British Columbia. Alan will also be missed by his Dad Jim SLATER of Sarnia and formerly of Goderich, three sisters Margaret WILLIS of Sarnia; June and Tony JEACOCK of Sarnia and Joyce and Ken HARRISON of Bobcaygeon; brother-in-law Carlos CANGAO and his family of Manila, The Philippines and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by his mother Rose SLATER, one sister Daphne SLATER and by one brother-in-law Joon CANGAO. Friends will be received at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd. - Bluewater Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive E., Goderich on Friday from 6-9 p.m. where the Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. with Father Thomas CHERUSSERIL officiating. Cremation. Parish Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 6: 00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Connecticut Scanner Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

STADDON, Doris Ethel (formerly ROOKS, née WHITE/WHYTE)
A resident of Ridgetown and formerly Tilbury. Aunt Doris STADDON died peacefully Thursday March 6, 2008 at the Village Retirement Residence, Ridgetown at the age of 94. Born in London, Ontario daughter of the late Allen Charles and Ethel Charity PETTIT) WHITE/WHYTE. Beloved wife of the late Alva ROOKS (1971) and Arthur STADDON (1991.) Step-mother of Jeanne WASHELESKI, Shelby Township, Michigan. Step-Grandmother of Mark, Scott and Kurt WASHELESKI. Dear Aunt of Christena and John Jones, R.R.#1, Morpeth; Allen and Doreen WHITE/WHYTE, Grand Bend; Betty and Duncan JEENS, Ridgetown Jerry and Pat WHITE/WHYTE, North York; Ted and Karen (HAMPTON) WHITE/WHYTE, Orangeville; Jan WHITE/WHYTE, Angus; and Doris JEAN and Mike LANDRY, Chatham. Also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Aunt Doris was an Honorary Member of the Tilbury Eastern Star and the former bookkeeper of the Tilbury Co-Operative for many years. Friends will be recieved at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street, E., Ridgetown on Friday March 14, 2008 from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Church of The Advent (Anglican), Ridgetown on Saturday at 11: 00 a.m. with The Rev. Stephen Demitroff officiating. Interment to follow in Tilbury Cemetery at 2: 30 p.m. Donations made by cheque to the Diabetes Association appreciated. Peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital with his family at his side on Saturday, March 15, 2008, Walter "Walt" Cecil MEADOWS of Woodstock in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee POLLOCK) for 57 years. Dear father of Terry MEADOWS (Donna JEAN) of Belmont, Gayle McCALLUM (Douglas) of R.R.#7, Woodstock, and Heather TAILOR/TAYLOR of Woodstock. Loving grandfather of Christopher MEADOWS, Somer MEADOWS, Jason McCALLUM (Karma), Justin McCALLUM (Margaret,) Jennifer GOWING (Dan NICHOL,) Aaron MURRAY and Shannon MURRAY. Papa Nono to Olivia MEADOWS; Papa Nana to Emily GOWING, Kaya GOWING, Lynsy GOWING- NICHOL, and Brendan NICHOL; and Pappy to Salma McCALLUM and Jannah McCALLUM. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Peacefully at the Bluewater Health Care Centre, Sarnia on Thursday, June 5, 2008, Roberta KILTY of Sarnia and formerly of London in her 83rd year. Beloved wife for 58 years of Donald KILTY of Sarnia. Loving mother of John and Mary-Ann of London, Robert of Montreal, Glen and Susan of Cambridge, Betty May and Clarence DOWLER of St. Jacobs and the late Brian KILTY (2006.) Proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Arnold TUNKS of Windsor. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Suddenly on 21st February, 2008, accidentally at home in Ottawa. Joyce JEANES (née JOHNSON.) Born in England in 1923 and lived since 1957 in Ottawa. Beloved, loving and devoted wife for 60 years of Doctor Bill JEANES, mother of David (Helga,) Rosemary (Paul ANTZE,) Brian (Denise), grandmother of Andrew, Jennifer, Emily, Bridget, Alison, Hayley, Melissa, and great-grandmother of Orla.

VINE, Paul Thomas
Died suddenly in his 68th year while "On The Road Again" in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with his much loved wife Maureen LANCASTER at his side. Paul was a big man with a ready laugh, gentle disposition and a huge love of life. He was most happy when sailing his beloved boat, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle or exploring new places in his truck camper. He will be forever missed by his wife Maureen, his sister Carole-Ann DURRAN (Durish,) her husband John, mother-in-law Olive LANCASTER, brother-in-law Ian LANCASTER, his wife Brenda and their children, and nieces Kim SCOTT, Katharine and Karen DURISH. Paul, along with his business partner Jim JEARVIS, ran the very successful London, Ontario business machine company known as Biz-Pro Ltd. Paul had been retired for 2 years and was doing what he loved best, exploring new places when he passed away all too soon. Cremation took place in Las Cruces. A celebration of Paul's life will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. at east London Anglican Ministries, 2060 Dundas Street, East London, Ontario. Reception to follow. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Paul are asked to consider the Salvation Army or Victorian Order of Nurses.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. for Paul Thomas VINE, who died suddenly in his 68th year while "on the road again" in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Paul, along with his business partner, Jim JEARVIS, ran the very successful London, Ontario, Business Machine Company known as Biz-Pro Limited. Family, Friends and business acquaintances are invited to East London Anglican Ministries, 2060 Dundas St. East (between Clarke Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway) London, Ontario. A reception will follow where you can exchange memories and share in honouring Paul who lived life to the fullest.
