HODGKINSON, Marilyn Jean (née IVENS)
Marilyn passed away July 7th, in her 60th year after a determined hard fought battle with Breast Cancer.
Predeceased by her father Jack IVENS and brother Bob (Robert) IVENS. Dear daughter of Jean IVENS, sister to Herb and David. Sister-in-law to Shirley, Carol and Suzanne. Cherished Aunt of Harris and Eugene IVENS, Meaghan and Michael IVENS and Greg TAILOR/TAYLOR.
Marilyn worked at the University of Toronto in the Medical Sciences Building, then embarked on a new career as a textile artist establishing Birds of Paradise Lampshade Studio.
Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of her life to be held in the Parlour of the Gallow Mansion of Gloucester Square Inns, Tuesday July 15th, 1 to 5 p.m. 512 Jarvis Street. At Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Friday, May 30, 2008, Muriel (McPHERSON) CARROLL of Bobier Villa, Dutton and formerly of R.R.#2 Wardsville in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold M. CARROLL (2007.) Dear mother of Keith and his wife Marilyn of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Terry and his wife Nancy of Saint Thomas, Alan and his wife Karen of West Elgin, Marie CARROLL of Chatham, Beth CARROLL and her husband Jamie IVES of Vancouver British Columbia. Loved by her 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Duncan McPHERSON (late Grace,) Dorothy (Gerry) WALKER. Also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Norma McMILLAN and Lois CARROLL as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Schleihauf. Relatives and Friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Argyle Presbyterian Church, Crinan on Tuesday, June 3 at 1: 30 p.m. Rev. Hugh APPEL officiating. Interment Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Argyle Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer Society.

The families of the late Florence Emma NEWMAN - April 18, 1914 to November 8, 2007 wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our family, relatives, Friends and neighbours for their generous support and expressions of sympathy. We appreciate the wonderful caring ways of Lorraine BAKER and family and their remarkable caring entire staff of Stayner Nursing Home and Shawn and Paula DAVIDSON for their prompt and caring of Mom and her family. Also thanks to Doctors Bill IVES and Bryan MARSHALL and Father Darrin CORKUM and the choir and Catholic Women's League at St. Patricks Church and Jean and Norma of Petal Pushers and Watsons Pharmacy and Medical Centre. Special loving wishes are extended to the Pall Bearers (Flo's grandchildren) and the piper for pulling at our hearts. Thanks to everyone for your gifts of food, phone calls, cards, donations, and flowers/plants and acts of endearment. Mom will be remembered for her enduring strength, keen wit and enthusiasm for living. A great lady who had a thirst for knowledge, a passion for collecting and a desire to experience all that life has to offer. She had many challenges throughout her life and overcame each and every one with unwavering optimism and grace. She was and will continue to be an inspiration for us all.

Loving father of Blair (Maria) of Stoney Creek, Shirline (Dale) IVESON of Flesherton, Dana (Crystal) of Porters Lake, Nova Scotia and Sherri (Ken) MONTICELLO of Markdale. He will be love and remembered by grandchildren Rachel, Kevin, Kyle, Ryan, Evan, Haley, Stephanie, Nickolas, Benjaman and step-great-grand_son Andrew. The family received Friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home Flesherton on Friday May 2 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Markdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Grey Bruce Health Services would be gratefully appreciated.

NURSE, Robert Ivan " Bob"
Passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Margaret. Greatly loved father of Christina (David) and Robert. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Born in Chatham, Ontario, Bob was predeceased by his parents, Lt. Col. W. Ivan and Beatrice NURSE and his sisters Audrey GRANT and Beryl IVEY. Growing up in Chatham, Bob was an avid athlete, participating in track and field, football and hockey and later, football in the Ontario Rugby Football Union for the London Falcons. He served in the Kent Regiment (Reserve) for three years and was a member of the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment Association. Enjoyed his time on the board of directors of Fort York, with a keen interest in Canadian history and the preservation of historic sites and buildings. Bob worked domestically and internationally in the packaging industry for 55 years. A long-time resident of the Kingsway in Toronto, he spent summers at the family cottage in Oakwood Park (Grand Bend). Bob will be fondly remembered by neighbours and by the many Friends he made throughout his life. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., (at Windermere, east of the Jane subway) Toronto, on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at All Saints Kingsway Anglican Church, 2850 Bloor St. W., Toronto, on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. If desired, donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital and Fort York.

IVEY, Beryl M. (née NURSE)
In the early hours of Christmas morning, in her 83rd year, Beryl IVEY died in her sleep of heart failure. She will be greatly missed by her husband Richard, her children Richard (Donna), Jennifer Ivey BANNOCK, Rosamond (John MacFARLANE) and Suzanne Ivey COOK (Dan,) her grandchildren Samantha, Alexandra and William IVEY, Olivia, Stephanie and Michael BANNOCK, and Dylan, Myles and Hayden COOK, and her brother Robert NURSE (Margaret.) Born in Chatham, Ontario, Beryl was predeceased by her parents Lt. Col. W. Ivan and Beatrice NURSE, and her sister Audrey WRIGHT. A private family service and burial took place on her 83rd birthday, December 28th.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. at Saint Paul's Cathedral, 472 Richmond Street, London, Ontario. A reception will follow at The London Club, 177 Queens Avenue, London (across the street from Saint Paul's). In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation to Foundation Western (The University of Western Ontario, Westminster College, Suite 110, London, Ontario N6A 3K7) or London Community Foundation (Covent Garden Market, 130 King Street, London, Ontario N6A 1C5) would be greatly appreciated.

Passed away suddenly at home on Friday, March 14, 2008 in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Albert IVEY. Loving mother of Kim and Calvin WILLIS of Mississauga, and Owen and Rhonda IVEY of Orangeville. Cherished grandmother of Vanessa and Craig WILLIS, and Jeffrey, Brandon and Hailie IVEY. Ann was the daughter of the late George Edward TURNER and Helen WATSON, sister of George TURNER, and sister-in-law of Helen IVEY. Ann will be lovingly remembered by all her family and Friends. Visitation will be held at the Turner and Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy. 10, North of Queen Elizabeth Way), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, and at the Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine Street, Collingwood, from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008 with the funeral service in the Chapel beginning at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Trillium Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
