ICETON,
William "
Bill"
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of
William "Bill"
ICETON at home in London on Thursday March 20th,
2008 in his 76th year. Cherished husband and best friend of Shirley.
Loving Father of Richard and his wife Kim and their daughter
Victoria. Randall and his wife Betty-Lou and their children,
Tina, Josh and Daniel. Rodney and his wife Diane and their daughter
Whitney. Also to Andrew, and
to Lindsey and her husband Michael,
and their children Zachary and Sarah, and to Stephen, and his
wife Delilah, and their children Bianca and Justin. Dear brother
of Ralph, and brother-in-law of Bonnie, and uncle of Jeffrey.
Bill will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren for frequent
visits to the Durham coffee shop with "Papa", where they were
invited to order whatever they wanted, (especially Boston Cream
donuts) and the wonderful rides in his vintage convertible in
a quest for ice cream on a hot summer day. Bill will be deeply
missed by his family, his cat "BFC", and his many Friends
in Durham, Brampton and Mississauga. Anywhere Bill spent time
became an opportunity for Friendship. A favourite past time during
recent years was time spent with the familiar faces at the local
coffee shop, where he could drink his coffee, read his paper
and chat with Friends. Bill was definitely what you'd call a
'people guy'. He gave so many of us the opportunity to be touched
by his kindness, his sense of humour and his charm. He was the
easiest man to love, and we were all very fortunate to have him
in our lives. Bill was a member of the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers, Local 353, for 50 years and often remarked
that he never understood how some electricians never had enough
time to do a job right the first time, but always had enough
time to go back and do it over again. Bill was also a life-long
automobile enthusiast and belonged to the Antique and Classic Car
Collectors Club of Canada. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's
life will be conducted at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland
Road North on Wednesday March 26, 2008 at 3: 00 p.m. with visitation
one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation
in memory of Bill are asked to consider the Kidney Foundation.
