active, long-time member of Trillium United Church (formerly
Saint Paul's United) of Cambridge employing her creative talents
in the choir and United Church Women. She was a graduate of Toronto
Western Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed spending time
with Friends and family at their cottage. Special thanks to Cambridge
Memorial Hospital Medical Daycare Staff and most recently Elaine
and Pat. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cambridge Memorial
Hospital Daycare Center or the Canadian Cancer Society would
be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial
service will be held at Trillium United Church, 450 King St. E.

Joan grew up in Toronto, Ontario, raised her family in London,
Ontario and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1980. She
had a multitude of Friends and co-volunteers especially from
Christ Church Cathedral, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and
Canadian Cancer Society. She enjoyed travelling, music, theatre,
bridge and crossword puzzles. She will be long remembered for
her sparkling conversations and vibrant personality. Joan and
her family want to extend heartfelt appreciation to all the Angels
at Marion Hospice and Saint Paul's Hospital. Donations to either
if desired.
A Celebration of Life for Joan will be held Thursday May 15 at
1 p.m. at The Fish House in Stanley Park, Vancouver.

Died peacefully in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 4, 2008.
Dr. Cameron's vision and leadership were instrumental to the
growth and development of oceanography in Canada. As well as
playing a major role in establishing the Department of Oceanography
at U.B.C., he oversaw the establishment of the institute of Ocean
Sciences and the Canadian Centre of Inland Waters and was one
of the founders of the Bedford Oceanographic Institute in Nova
Scotia. In 2004 he was named as a Member to the Order of Canada.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth
