Loving Mother of Barbara and her husband Marco MARTINEZ of Owen Sound; Beth LOVECCHIO of Barrie Linda and her husband John SHEPPARD of England; Doug and his wife Robin of Saint Thomas; David and his wife Mary Anne of Newmarket Carol and her husband Barrie LINCOLN of Saint Thomas; Kathy and her husband Tomas Rosas LANDA of Mexico; and Brenda of Saint Thomas. It is with overwhelming grief that the family of Doctor Richard BOYD announces his death at age 63 on Saturday, March 29, 2008 after a heart attack and a stroke. Rick took his last breath held lovingly by his family and close Friends Doctor Frank DEMARCO and Doctor Tom ELSDON. Rick deeply loved, and was loved by, his wife of nearly 40 years, Jane (JOHNSTON,) and cherished his sons David Richard and Andrew Macartney. Rick adored his beautiful 'daughters' Kristen (SKINNER) and Lindsay (GRAY/GREY.) He was predeceased by his loving parents Doctor Norman and Barbara BOYD, and father-in-law Robert 'Mac' JOHNSTON. He will be profoundly missed by his mother-in-law Olive JOHNSTON. Left to mourn are his sisters Judy MANNING, Mary HOPKINS (Ed DAVEY) and Heather MUNRO (Bob,) his aunt Dorothy SEARLE, brother and sister-in-laws Dick and Jane JOHNSTON, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a legion of Friends. He was predeceased by his loyal Bichon Frises, Bijoux and Beaumont. Doctor BOYD graduated from the University Of Western Ontario Medical School in 1968. He obtained his Specialist Fellowship in Urology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1976, and has since then practiced Urological Surgery in Windsor. He previously served as Chief of Surgery, and was currently head of Urology, at the Windsor Regional Hospital. He was one of the founders of the prostate cancer Bracytherapy programme at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. In recent years he has also served the community as a Provincial Coroner for Essex County. Rick was a member of the Alpha Kappa Kappa medical fraternity. An athlete, Rick ran 27 marathons around the world with a personal best of 2: 48 in Chicago. He curled in the Ontario Medical Association bonspiels, and was an avid golfer and scholar of golf history. He was a member of the Donald Ross Society. He was currently the very proud President of Essex Golf and Country Club. Rick was a skilled clinician and diagnostician, and a gentle man who exhibited great kindness to his patients. He had twinkling blue eyes, a mischievous smile and a wonderfully wicked sense of humour. Rick's prize orchids are especially beautiful this spring. Our family thanks the medical community, both doctors and nurses, who supported Rick in area hospitals over the years, and especially Ruth Anne PIETTE and Staci LEMIEUX who loyally kept his office organized in spite of him. We thank the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospitals who so valiantly tried to save him: Doctor Rob WOODALL, Doctor Anthony GLANZ, Doctor Hash PATEL, Doctor Natalie MALUS and Doctor Balraj JHAWAR, who over five difficult days demonstrated extraordinary skill, as well as great compassion and love to our family. Thank you to Carol DERBYSHIRE and Steve BRENNAN from the Hospice of Windsor; Pat BEST, Paula DEEHAN- SCHMIDT and Chaplain Joyce JARDIN from Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital; Kim VAN ALLEN and Bishop Bob BENNETT from All Saints' Church; and our community for enveloping our family in love and prayers as we ran with Rick on his last marathon. Always one to put others first, and ever the healer, Rick has made four gifts of life. His two corneas will go to enhance sight, and, ironically the "perfect urologist kidneys" will give life and hope to two patients. Died peacefully, on April 21st 2008, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, in his 77th year. Dick was predeceased by both his parents, Victor and Nancy KNIGHT, his sister Judi WILSON and also by his wife, Sylvia. He is survived by his sister Bunny TURNER of Halifax. He will be sadly missed by dear friend and constant companion Barb HOPKINS.
Lovingly remembered by his 4 children and their partners; Larry KNIGHT and Michelle PETRIN, Steven KNIGHT, Jeffrey KNIGHT and Valerie CLASS- KNIGHT, Alyson SCHAFER and Ken SCHAFER.
Dick leaves behind ten grandchildren who will all miss him and his many surprise treats; Sarah, Lawren and Ainslie KNIGHT; Kaitlyn, Michael, Alexandra KNIGHT; Emily and Paul KNIGHT; Zoe and Lucy SCHAFER.
Richard was a graduate of Antioch College (Ohio). He joined the staff of the University of Waterloo in 1966 as an academic counsellor for the Faculty of Arts. He served as president of the Staff Association for several terms. He retired in 1994 and was bestowed with Honorary Member of The University of Waterloo. Dick worked tirelessly as a volunteer over the span of his entire life. Never dissuaded by the enormity of a worthy task, he was responsible for the creation and founding of numerous organizations such as the Canadian Unitarian Council, Unicamp, The Willowdale Fellowship, The Alfred Adler Institute of Ontario and many others. Dick never arrived empty handed and made sure that there was always room at his table, a pallet on his floor and a boat full of gas.
Since retiring, Dick shared his time and talents, volunteering for Beaver Creek Correctional Institute as Community Liaison, and as a board member of Muskoka Family Services. The acts of kindness, caring and citizenry Dick has shown his beloved Muskoka community are too numerous to mention and too special to be forgotten.

She was born in Mindemoya, daughter of the late Orval and Evelyn (HOPPER) McALLISTER. Eleanor had a great love of animals, especially farm animals, cats and gerbils. Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Sunday, June 29th, 2008 in his 90th year, George "Bernie" HOPPER of Forest. Bernie is survived by his loving wife Grace and children Mary-Lou, John and Jim. Sadly missed by grand_son Dallas and much loved nieces and nephews. Also survived by sister Doris. Visitation will be held at the Ronn E. Dodge Funeral Home in Forest (James at Watt St.) on Thursday, July 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at the Dodge Funeral Home on Friday July 4th at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. Cherished mother of Margaret (David) McCALLUM of Miller Lake, Donna (Jim) BEVAN of Cambridge, John NUNN (Lynn HOPPS) of Waterloo and Betty UMBACH (Jack HUTTON) of Wiarton. She will be sadly missed by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, brothers Gerald (Margaret) HAMILTON of Winnipeg and Larry (Janet) HAMILTON of Cambridge and sister Dorothy (Paul) HOCH of Kincardine. Doris was predeceased by her parents Dorothy (WALLER) and Russell HAMILTON, 2 brothers and 1 sister. A graveside service will be held at Eastnor Cemetery spring 2008. Special grandmother of Bob (Trish) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Ann LAROCK, Margaret (Pat) KELLY and Tony (Dawn) FORBES. Fondly remembered by grand daughter-in-law Joyce THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON. She will be sadly missed by 10 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Robert JONES of Port Elgin and many nieces and nephews. Hannah was predeceased by her husband Jim (1995), sons-in-law Douglas THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Terry FORBES, grand_sons Jim and Ron THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. A resident of Dresden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Riverview Gardens, Chatham. Susie was born on September 14, 1914 to Howard and Florence (HOPPS) MANDERSON. She was tenth of thirteen children. From an early age Susie loved to paint using oil and watercolours. Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Stanley WILMOTT (1994.) Together they raised 5 children, Mike and his wife Judy of Collingwood, Cathy and her husband Lloyd JACKSON of Chatham, Pat and her husband Terry BLACKMORE of Petrolia, Bill and his wife Debbie of Wallaceburg and Dave and his wife Janice of Dresden. She is survived by her remaining sibling Ivy WILMOTT of Chatham. Loving grandma of eleven grandchildren: Beth, Marci, Joe, Jeff, Jennifer, Andrew, Erin, Amy, Meghan, Behn and Ashley and great-grandma of fourteen great-grandchildren: Eric, Mitchell, Samantha, Jocelyn, Robin, Taylor, Savanna, Liam, Owen, Jackson, Dalton, Claire, Lucy and Tristan. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Elizabeth, grand_son Michael WILMOTT, granddaughter Tricia BLACKMORE, 7 sisters and 4 brothers. She has been an inspiration to her family and her absolute love for her grandchildren was steadfast. They will have countless happy memories to recall of times spent with Gramma Susie. Friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 679 North Street, Dresden on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. with Rev. JACKSON, Grace Louise " Dollie" (née HOPSON)
Born December 5, 1914 in Marine City, Michigan, Grace Louise "Dollie" JACKSON passed away peacefully in Petrolia, Ontario on April 16, 2008, in her 94th year.
Predeceased by her parents George and Blossom HOPSON; sister Edith RANDALL; brother Bill HOPSON, and husband Don JACKSON.
Survived by her sons Bruce (Mary) JACKSON of Langley, British Columbia; Doug (Pat) JACKSON of Camlachie, Ontario; daughter Jean (Mike) MOSELEY of McBride, British Columbia.
Dollie will be greatly missed by her four grand_sons; Morgan and Don JACKSON; Gordon (Michelle) and John MOSELEY.
A school teacher by profession, Dollie served overseas in England with her husband Don during World War 2. Following the war, Dollie lived in Windsor, moving to Oakville to be part of the "Ford Family" in the early fifties. Grace was a long-time member of Saint_John's United Church in Oakville, and more recently, Camlachie United Church.
Special thanks to Fiddick's Nursing and Retirement Home in Petrolia for their kind and thoughtful care of Mom in these last years.
Dollie will be fondly remembered for her calm demeanor, her quiet determination and her unwavering love and support for all her family members. She loved animals, her creatures great and small, most especially her feathered Friends.
It was Dollie's wish to be cremated, and she will be buried next to her loving husband Don in Windsor, Ontario.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, sympathy donations may be made to the Camlachie United Church building fund.

Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, on July 12, 1928, Wanza was the first child of the late Eric and Edna (née HONSBERGER) BUCKLEY (Windsor,▼ Ontario▼) and a loving older sister to the late Keith BUCKLEY (2000.) She was predeceased by her mother- and father-in-law Agnes (née BAILLIE) and Peter ROBERTSON (Bishopbriggs▼ and Glasgow,▼ Scotland▼ and Windsor, Ontario,▼) her husband of 41 years, Ronald ROBERTSON, Q.C., in 1992, and by their daughter, Heather Agnes, in 1980. Wanza was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a great friend to many. She will be greatly missed by her three surviving children and their spouses, Peter ROBERTSON (Antonietta▼ SEUCHARAN) Holly ROBERTSON (Gaetano AMATO), and Kate ROBERTSON (Michael HOPTON). She will also be deeply missed by her eight grandchildren: Kate, Eric, and Natalie AMATO; Lee▼ and Cole ROBERTSON; and Matthew, Sarah and Aimee HOPTON. As a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society for many years, she drove cancer patients to appointments and treatments. She also delivered meals on behalf of Meals on Wheels. Even the local wildlife benefited from her thoughtfulness: Wanza nurtured milkweed and other native plants in her backyard gardens long before it became trendy to do so. Wanza was a private person, but her kindness and wry sense of humour drew many to her. She was intensely interested in politics and enjoyed well-informed and lively political discussions. With her keen intellect, she was an avid reader and wordsmith, but nobody could say more by simply arching an eyebrow. Her Friends and family will miss her empathy, dry wit, and wise counsel. Wanza endured her illness and her difficult final weeks and days with her characteristic grace and dignity and with a stoicism and sense of humour that was typical of her approach to life's troubles.
