His time with us far too short, our gentle soldier was taken
from us after a short and courageous battle with Cancer. He is
survived by his wife
Hana
HNIK, his daughter, Jaine Michelle,
his two brothers, Zdenek and Milan
HNIK, and many Friends. He
touched the lives of all who knew him, with his generosity, his
honesty, his unusual perception and dry sense of humor. He was
well respected in his 30 year long career as an Electrical Engineer
at Ontario Power Generation, and later, at Atomic Energy of Canada
Limited. Not always a man of many words, but those he did speak,
held true meaning. In 2002, he moved to British Columbia to celebrate
retirement. An avid outdoorsman he lived life to the fullest.
A devastating loss, but not in vain. "My jsme te mely hrozne
rady Honzicku, a my budeme delat vsechno abychom zili zivot tak
jak tys zil svuj." Private memorial service to be held Tuesday
February 26th 2008 in North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations
