ALLEN, Olive Bertha
Of Saint Thomas, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late George William ALLEN (2002) and dearly loved mother of Richard and his wife Jackie ALLEN and Cheryl and her husband Egide VERNACKT, all of Saint Thomas. Much loved grandmother of Rich and his wife Jenn, Donna and her husband Bernie, Robert and his wife Jen, Dan and his wife Tanya and Christopher. Loved great-grandmother of Joshua and his wife Dezeray, Brooklyn, Samantha, Tosha, Vanessa (Jason) and Justin, Faith, Robyn and Kayleen. Dear aunt of Pat MIMES. Predeceased by 2 sisters Irene LAMPMAN and Viola HITCH. Olive was born in Saint Thomas on April 13, 1920. She worked a number of years as a music therapist at the Saint Thomas Psychiatric Hospital. She was a member of Saint Anne's Church and a member of the Catholic Women's League. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Thursday morning and then to Saint Anne's Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7: 00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Bluewater Health - Mitton Site on Thursday, July 24, 2008, Margaret Isabella (MacKENZIE) HITCHCOCK, age 89, of Sarnia, loving wife of the late Ralph HITCHCOCK (1995.) Dear mother of Mary HITCHCOCK, Raymond Edward HITCHCOCK, Margaret Diane BARCROFT and her husband Jerry and Elizabeth Anne FLETCHER and her husband Herbert Jr. Grandmother of Michael, Suzanne, Johanne, Angela, Lisa, Todd, Angela, Herbert III and Daniel. Also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sister of Dorthea LAWRENCE. Predeceased by her daughter Donna HITCHCOCK, brother Albert MacKENZIE and great-grandchildren Terrance MATHEWS and Summer TANNER- FLETCHER. Mrs HITCHCOCK was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #62. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the D.J. Robb Funeral Home, 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia, on Monday, July 28th at 1: 00 p.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Passed away at London Health Sciences Centre University Hospital on Friday July 18, 2008, Jean O'BRIEN (née GOWANS) in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Joseph (1988). Dearly loved mother of Marilyn PARÉ (Lou), Graham (Barb), Donna VAN SCHAIK (Fred), Joe (Betty), Mary Jane HITCHEN (Pete), Tony (Marilyn), Fran McCORMICK (Jim,) and Colleen O'BRIEN. "G.G." will be missed by her 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff of L.H.S.C. University Campus; Community Care Access Centre and the Victorian Order of Nurses Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint_Justin's Church, 855 Jalna Blvd. on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Monday evening at 7 o'clock. Peacefully in Montreal, on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at the age of 101. Beloved wife of the late Willie. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Barbara and Max AKERMAN, Milton and Paula, Carole and the late Leon SILVER. Beloved Bubbie of Beverly and Russell, Shelley, Aaron and Petra, Robert and Pam, Rhonda and Eyal, Sharon and Tim, Howard and Rae-Ann, Mark and Angela. Treasured Big Bubbie of seventeen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her seven siblings and their spouses. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
