On July 22, 2008 in his 89th year. Allan was an Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve rating, an officer in World War 2 and an actuary by profession. His loving partner, Cheryl ROBINSON, survives him. Predeceased by his wives, Lillian and Madeleine and his sister Muriel. He is also survived by his daughter, Anne and her husband Geoffrey MURRAY, his step-son, Warren WOLFENDEN and his wife Lori, and six grandchildren: Willa and Adrian MURRAY, Ethan and Meghan WOLFENDEN and Jessie and Jamie DALTON. He was a special friend to Cheryl's family. Allan was a kind, gentle man who enjoyed travel, Friends and family immensely. His joy of life was shared with many and will be missed by all who have survived him. The family wish to extend our thanks to the trauma team at Victoria Hospital, especially Donna HESCH, who comforted Allan and his family. At Allan's request, in lieu of a funeral service, his Friends are invited to share their memories of Allan at The London Club, 177 Queens Ave., London, on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Cherished mother of Carolyn BASKEY; and Wayne and his wife Shirley BELL. Loving grandma of Janice and Robert BASKEY and Sandy and Chris BELL. Dear sister of Penny BRAIN, Robert PEIRCE, Catherine HESKETH and the late Frank PEIRCE. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Of R.R.#1 Saint Thomas, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family in her 65th year. Dearly loved wife of William "Bill" SNETSELAAR and loved mother of Ryk and his wife Lisa SNETSELAAR and Joni and her husband Kevin KERVIN of Saint Thomas. Dear sister of Jacob and his wife Ethel HESLINGA of Saint Thomas, Frederik and his wife Mary HESLINGA of Mount Hope and Effie and her husband Frank LATTANZIO of Saint Thomas. Much loved grandmother of Megan and Mark SNETSELAAR and William, Jordan and Tyler KERVIN. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Liz was born in Arrem, Holland on November 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Jake and Sarah (IEDEMA) HESLINGA. She came to Canada in 1953. Liz owned and operated "Your Fish and Chips" with her husband Bill and son Ryk. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Peacefully at his home on Friday, May 16, 2008, William "Bill" HESS of Woodstock in his 73rd year. Dearest husband of Audrey (née GREEN) for 50 years. Loving father of David HESS (Jill HOSSACK) of Woodstock, Cathy HOLT (Jim McBRIDE) of Ingersoll, and Paul HESS (Brenda) of Woodstock. Much loved Grandpa of Greg HOLT, and Meg and Jenny HESS, all of Ingersoll. Dear uncle of Susan and Mark ADAM/ADAMS and great-uncle of Connor and Laura ADAM/ADAMS. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Margaret HESS, his sister Kay RYDALL and brother-in-law Don RYDALL, and his parents-in-law Clarence and Kay GREEN. Sadly missed by his favourite companion Molly. Bill was a funeral director in Woodstock with the Rowell Funeral Home and the Mac Smith Funeral Home for 50 years. His favourite pastime was enjoying cottage life. The family of Walter COLLINS would like to thank all those Friends and relatives who brought so much love, Friendship and joy into the life of our husband, father and grandfather.
On the sad occasion of his sudden passing, we would like to send sincere thanks to the attending Wasaga Beach Paramedics, Ontario Provincial Police and the Fire Department. Thank you for the professionalism shown and the respect for Walter's dignity that he was so deserving of Thank you to all those who telephoned, emailed, sent flowers and donated to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Thank you to Doctor James LANE and all the staff at Stayner Medical Centre for 20 years of care, compassion and patience. Also, to Irma and all the staff at the Wasaga Beach IDA.
Special thank you to Watts Funeral Home in Wasaga Beach for the care and respect given to Walter's service. A very special thanks to Darrin WATTS for going above and beyond the call of duty in preparation for Walter's final journey home.

MILLS, Donald Stewart (1934-2008)
A wonderful man who lived life to the fullest with compassion, devotion and a determination to make a difference in the many lives that he touched, Donald Stewart MILLS passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2008 near Naples, Florida in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Ann MILLS (TYRRILL,) cherished father of Nancy MILLS and Steve JARRETT, Ted and Kathy MILLS, Wendy MILLS and Jeff FLEMING/FLEMMING, and Cathy and Jeff HESS, and adored 'Pops' to his grandchildren Annie, Jamie, Trevor, Samantha, Jesse, Julia, A.J., Ali, Jordan and Sarah. Loving brother to Alex and Jane MILLS, the late Howard MILLS and his wife Geegee, Jim and Elizabeth MILLS, and Paul and Jannie MILLS, loving brother-in-law to Rosemary and Don MANN, and loving uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. Don believed and exemplified in many ways that anything is possible if you believe it is. He enjoyed a long and successful career in law as a senior partner of Mills and Mills LLP. Don achieved prominence in a number of diverse fields of law. His clients included national and multi-national corporations and he was a special adviser to various levels of Government. He was involved in the creation of TVO and served as its executive counsel for more than 30 years through successive government changes. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1972. Throughout his life, Don was involved with many charitable and volunteer organizations. He gave thanks each and every day for his many blessings and enthusiastically followed the wonderful example of his parents (the late Ralph S. MILLS, Q.C. and Thora R. MILLS, O.C.) in giving back to the community in many ways. He considered his richest blessing to be his loving family. Family and Friends will be received at Rosedale Golf Club, 1901 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto, on Monday, January 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Don's life will be held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Eglinton St. George's United Church, 35 Lytton Blvd. at Duplex, followed by a reception at the Church. Alix is the daughter of the late William Allan and Jeanne Marie (JOLIAT) RALPH. Beloved wife of Paul Joseph HESS. Loving mother of Charlie and Melissa HESS of Gilbert, Arizona. Dear grandmother of Marina and Jiada. Sister of Allan RALPH and wife Michelle SAINT_JOHN. Alix had retired as the Human Resources Director of St. Clair Technologies, was a patron of the arts and member of Wallaceburg Little Theatre. LAMER, Doctor Laurent (1931-2008)
Dr. Laurent LAMER passed away peacefully at Notre-Dame Hospital in Montreal after a lengthy illness. Doctor Laurent LAMER dedicated over 40 years of his life to Notre-Dame Hospital's Ophtalmology Department and to the Medicine Faculty of Université de Montréal. Beyond the many patients he has had the privilege of treating, Dr. LAMER was a pioneer of the use of lasers in the treatment of retinal disease and in the use of ocular ultra sound as a diagnostic tool. In recognition of his many contributions to the advancement of medicine, Doctor LAMER was honored and granted a career medal (Médaille de carrière) in 2004 by the Ophtalmology Department and the faculty of medicine of the Université de Montréal. He leaves behind his spouse Jocelyne GAUTHIER, his sons Francis and Olivier, their spouses Bena STOCK and Malene SAABY, his granddaughters Madeleine and Michelle, his grand_sons Sébastien and Simon, Tamarha and Jessie PIERCE (daughters of Jocelyne,) his brothers and sisters Hubert, Jean-Louis, Claudette and Jocelyne, his brothers and sisters in law Fernande LAMER, Rachelle LAMER, Jules JOBIN, Yvon MATTE, Pierrette LUSIGNAN, Jacqueline APRIL, Françoise and Médéric DESROCHERS, Monique APRIL, Hélène APRIL, Luc APRIL et Lois HESS and numerous nephews, nieces, Friends and colleagues. Stanley was born in Stratford, Ontario on August 23, 1929 and was predeceased by his parents Wilfred John HESSE (1956) and Elimna Salome (DAHMER) (1945) once niece, Cheryll Anne HESSE (1997;) and his wife Myrtle Adeline (CLARK) (2006.) Left to mourn his passing are his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lucy HESSE of Brussels, Ontario, three nieces; Linda VANKOOLEN of Stratford, Ontario, Barbara WAHL of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Beverly HEARN of Calgary, Alberta and one step-nephew. Norman WELSH of Kitchener, Ontario.
