HEPBURN, James Roderick
Of Lady Isabelle Nursing Home, Trout Creek (formerly of Wiarton) passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 3, 2008 in his 78th year. Cherished husband and best friend of Ila and beloved father of Carla (Tom) BADEAU of Hamilton, Diane (Wally) HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON of South River and Ken (Roxanne) HEPBURN of Orillia. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Adam and Michael HEPBURN, brothers Hector (Lee) HEPBURN of Wiarton, Fred (Joanne) HEPBURN of Sarnia and Robert (Francine) HEPBURN of Wiarton and sisters Kathleen (Nelson) WATSON of Englehart, Betty (Allan) WHITE/WHYTE of Meaford and Joyce (Lloyd) BOWINS of Toronto. He was predeceased by his parents Sarah (McEACHERN) and Tom HEPBURN, brothers Harold, Carl and Clifford and sisters Elizabeth HEATHERS, Florence WHEELER and infant sister Darlene. In respect of James' wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service Spring, 2008. Details to be announced at a later date. Interment Bayview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton. WEIR, Joyce (née McMILLAN)
Of Wiarton, passed away peacefully at Gateway Haven on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in her 81st year. Joyce and Don WEIR enjoyed 50 years of marriage before Don's passing in 1999. Together they farmed in Mar and operated the Ferry View Motel in Tobermory. Family, fun and Friends - these were the three pillars of Joyce's life. She was an avid curler, euchre player, traveller and a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Dear mother of Brenda ROUSE of London and Shirley and Don JOHANNSON of Port Moody, British Columbia Cherished grandmother to Amy ROUSE (friend Kelly STEWARD/STEWART/STUART), Adam ROUSE, Ryan JOHANNSON and Keira JOHANNSON. Joyce will be missed by her sisters Mildred LEE and Shirley BRYAN, sisters-in-law Edith MATCHAM and Margaret McMILLAN, all of Manitoba, sisters-in-law Mildred McARTHUR of Scarborough and Edna DAY of Kingston, and sisters and brothers-in-law Hester and Tom CUNNINGHAM, Maisie and Howard HEPBURN, Betty and Harvey WEIR, Mary and Lorne WEIR and Clara and Jack WEIR, all of Wiarton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Don, sons Paul and Ross, parents Belle and Alexander McMILLAN, sisters Hester (Bert) CHURCHILL and Glenis (Stan) MEGGISON, brothers Irvine, Jack (Edna,) George (Florence) and Don McMILLAN and sister-in-law Janet (Roy) BARNES. Visitation will be held at the George Funeral Home, Wiarton on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 1: 00 p.m. with Rev. Of Wiarton, peacefully with her loving family at her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, May 19th, 2008. The former Leona Frances Matilda VANCOUGHNETT in her 63rd year. Loving wife of Hector. Devoted mother of Christine EMERSON, of Wiarton; Alister (Rob TENEYCKE,) of St. Catharines; and Keith Davis (Shelly), of Guelph. Cherished grandmother of Chad, Christine, Cory-Lynne, Cullen, Aaron, Bobbie, Dawni, Brandy, Zachary, Shelby, Mike, Matt, Jesse, Lauren, and Rebecca; and great-grandmother of Jack, Hanna, Ocean, Cheyanne, Haley, Quinton, Taylor, and Benjamin. Sister of Gail (Ted DONNELLY), Judy (Ron GRANT), Sally VANCOUGHNETT, Joanne VANCOUGHNETT (Ted BAKER), Calvin CRAWFORD, Sandy CRAWFORD, and Kathleen FINNIE. Sadly missed by her uncle Francis WAGER, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and Friends. Passed away at Sunnybrook Veteran's Residence on January 8, 2008. He is survived by his wife Elinor and his son Robert HEPBURN (Caroline) and grandchildren Noah and Emma and step-son Douglas WRIGHT. A special thanks to all the caring and compassionate staff at Sunnybrook L and K wings who made the last years of Don's life very comfortable. At Don's request there is no funeral service. After 22 years, finally has peace, after a brain aneurysm, passed away at Riverview Gardens, Chatham, on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, Roy Thomas ADAM/ADAMS, age 71 of Chatham, beloved husband of 47 years of Betty (GRANT) ADAM/ADAMS. Born in London on March 06, 1937 he was the son of the late Vera (CHANCE) and Thomas ADAM/ADAMS.
