Robert▼ was born in Wishaw, Scotland in 1922. Graduated
from Wishaw High School and then attended Glasgow University
where he studied medicine. After graduating he served in the
Royal Army Medical Corps in the Middle East and on his return
continued his medical training in Pathology. Through his long
and illustrious academic career he worked in Departments of Pathology
in Birmingham, England and Belfast, Northern Ireland. During
those years he had the opportunity on two occasions to study
in Chicago one year as a Fullbright scholar and another as a
visiting professor. Wherever he was, he made lifelong Friendships
with those he worked with. In 1969 he moved to the University
of Calgary to be head of Pathology at the newly constituted Medical
School where he remained until he retired. During his career
he obtained a PhD from Birmingham University and a D.Sc. from
Glasgow. His contributions in the fields of cardiac and renal
pathology were recognized worldwide. He moved to London, Ontario,
after his retirement, to be closer to his family. His enthusiastic
love of life and learning inspired all who knew him. To the end
of his life he was a voracious reader; there was no subject that
did not spark his interest. He was a devoted and loving husband,
father and grandfather, he will be missed. Thanks to Paramed
for the wonderful home care he received and also to the staff
of the palliative care units at the London Health Sciences Centre
and Parkwood Hospital. A memorial service will take place at
the Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington Street, London,
Ontario on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. Donations for

six years. - Jean was predeceased by her brother Patrick, her
sisters Margaret, Helen, Francis, and Antoinette. Jean is the
beloved Aunt of Randa and Don, (London) Mary and Bob, Bill, Helen
Claire, Bob, Richard Patricia and Michael (Toronto Area). Jean
will be remembered lovingly by many grand-nieces and nephews
and several great-grand-nieces and nephews. Jean embraced life
with optimism, humour, curiosity, hard work, and feistiness.
She generously shared her time and herself. Jean was deeply committed
to her family and Friends and to her Catholic Faith. Her personal
qualities, her faith, her lifelong connections with family and
Friends helped her live a full life in a silent world. Due to
a childhood illness Jean was profoundly deaf since age seven
years. With impaired eye sight in her senior years Jean welcomed
help from the deaf/blind branch of the Canadian National Institute
for the Blind There will be a celebration of Jean's life at 12: 00
noon on Friday March 7 in the Mount Hope Auditorium 21 Grosvenor
St. There will be a Funeral Mass at 2: 00 at St. George's Catholic
Church, 1164 Commissioners Road West followed by interment at
Saint Peter's Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to attend

1914, he loved his country and served it with distinction in
World War 2. After the war Sonny served with the federal Department
of Agriculture and went on to be a successful Insurance agent
and businessman in Forest. Sonny's passing will leave a void
in the lives of many who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Sonny was a past Mayor of Forest; past president and life member
of the Forest Legion, Br. #176 and past president of the Forest
Rotary club as well as coach and supporter of many sports teams
in the Forest area. The family wishes to extend their extreme
gratitude to the staff of Parkwood Hospital for their caring
and devotion to dad, especially in the past few weeks. A celebration

on a homestead near Clairmont, Alberta. Her musical talent emerged
early, and earned her scholarships to study in Banff and in Toronto
at the Royal Conservatory. She established a successful performing
and teaching career, sharing her love of music with many students.
Ethel supported her husband Jack through his long career with
Abitibi, from where he retired as Corporate Director and Vice
President Finance in 1978. She blessed our home with warmth and
kindness, as well as her gift of music. Sincere thanks to her
caregivers who sustained her with a loving and supportive environment.
She will be missed by Cecille, Cathy, Esther, Gloria, Glenn,
and Fatima. Thanks also to Judith, Evangeline, Louise, and Louis,
to Barbara whose craniosacral treatments helped prolong her quality
of life, and to her medical team. Friends may call at the Turner and
