SUTHERLAND, Robert " Bob" Bruce (1940-2008)
Robert Bruce SUTHERLAND, beloved husband of Jeannette of thirty-nine years, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2008 after a courageous battle with lung cancer at the age of 67 years. Bob was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 21, 1940. He was in the insurance business for forty-eight years, working for Continental Insurance, Great American Insurance in Toronto and Montreal and Gerling Global Insurance (Gcan). Bob was always generous to charitable organizations. Robert is survived by his loving wife Jeanette his aunt Marg GUSCOT of Toronto; his cousins, John (Theresa) TENSEE of Toronto, Susan (David) REID of Victoria, John (Heather) GUSCOT of Toronto, and Patricia (Russ) TIFFIN of Toronto. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Lucille SUTHERLAND and his stepmother Hettie, his son Billie and his beloved Kado dog. Quietly at Gibson Long Term Care, North York in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Daisy GUSCOTT. Survived by his cousins, Margaret GUSCOTT of North York, John (Heather) GUSCOTT of Pickering; Patricia (Russell) TIFFIN of Oakville Eric (Mavis) BONHAM of Burlington, Graycie CAMERON and Daisy THOMAS of Florida. Mr. GUSCOTT served in the Canadian Naval Services during World War 2. He was with the assessment office for the City of North York. A private family service was held. Interment Prospect Cemetery.

Eldon “Sonny” SEIP, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. He was 68. Born in Walkerton, Sonny was a member of the Men’s Group and an Elder of First St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
Survived by his wife Lois (née TACKABERRY) SEIP, children Susan (Wayne) PETCHEY of Niagara Falls, Bradley SEIP (Laura) of Brockville, David (Beverley) SEIP of Dryden and Corinna IRVING (George GUSE) of London, grandchildren Jessica, B.J., Miranda, Ben, Steven, Neal, Carissa, Mac, Mary and Sherice, great-grandchildren Adam, Holley, Hope and Carter.
Also survived by his mother Madeline (née FRENCH) SEIP, brother Dale (Ramona ROSE) SEIP of Prince George, British Columbia, sisters Yvonne FOUNTAIN of Paris and Nancy (Brian) HEINMILLER of Norval and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Roy.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. at First St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Hanover. Rev. Mark KOEHLER officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.

Marie, Shirley and her husband Armond LANG of Desboro, Audrey and her husband Burnie WALKER of Sullivan Township and Helen and her husband Ernie FRIESE of Matheson. Loving grandmother of Mandy, Charlotte, Graham, Ashley, Glen, Marlene, Elaine, Eric, Ellen, Susan, Elizabeth, Heather, Mark, Bradley, Trevor, Dale, Dean and Bradley and their spouses. Elsa will be missed by her thirty great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Monday April 14, 2008. In his 86th year, Walter BYERS, loving husband and friend of Eva Marie BYERS (née HODGSON.) Loved father of Paul BYERS and his wife Norma, Ruth and her husband Vern BARBER, Patricia and her husband Isaac McINTYRE, Donna and her husband Stan ORSON and Brian BYERS and his wife Mollie. Loving grandfather of twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marjorie (Mrs. Lester REIST,) Naomi (Mrs. Clarence GUSEY), Shirley (Mrs. Calvin McLEAN) and Allan BYERS. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Jean BYERS, Ruth (Mrs. Alvin GORDON) and his brothers Edwin, Austin and Gordon. Walter's career began in 1942 with a horse and wagon with Pan Dandy and then Canada Bread retiring in 1986. But he continued selling baked goods from his vehicle up to present time. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Wednesday April 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Calvary Missionary Church on Thursday April 17 at 11 a.m. (visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service). Lloyd was on December 14, 1918 in Brigden, Ontario to the late Arthur and Emmeline (WATSON) COLBORNE. He was a veteran of World War 2 serving in the 7th Anti-tank, 1st Canadian Corp., British 8th Army. He was retired from the Silverwood Dairy with 30 years of service. Predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years Verna Rose (KINART) COLBORNE (1998.) Lloyd is survived by his 4 sons, Jim (Betty), Bruce (Lauren), both of Sarnia, Terry (Karen) of Warwick Village, Rick (Laurie) of Petrolia and one daughter Gail (Frank) GUSTIN of Petrolia.
