GIERA, Teresa " Pani Jadwiga"
Passed away peacefully at the age of 97, on March 6, 2008 in Windsor, Ontario. Born in Poland on September 29, 1910. Predeceased by two husbands. Teresa Jadwiga is survived by her daughter Teresa WASNIEWSKA, and her three grandchildren Witold, Jan and Krzysztof WASNIEWSKI and seven great-grandchildren. A vibrant radio personality for over 40 years, "Pani Jadwiga" was heard regularly by Polish listeners throughout Toronto, Buffalo, New York, Detroit and Windsor. A pioneer in Polish radio and one of the first female producers to also broadcast her own programme at CHWO, CHIN, and the WJLB in Detroit. Resting at the Morris Sutton Funeral Home, 68 Giles Blvd. East (519-254-8633) on Sunday, March 9, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary Sunday at 7: 30 p.m. A Polish language funeral service will be held on Monday at 12: 00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Polish Church, 1035 Ellis Avenue, Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the John Paul II Foundation or the Convent of the Sisters of Niepokalane in Warsaw, Poland. Memorial Condolences may be expressed to the family at

Unexpectedly at University Hospital in London, on June 3, 2008, Martin "Martini" GIERLING of London in his 54th year. Beloved son of Elfrieda GIERLING and John Paul GIERLING (1992.) Loving brother and friend to Rose GIERLING, Johnny GIERLING (1986) and Anne Marie HEARD (2002.) Loved and missed by the Clickers. Many thanks to Sandra and the staff at University Hospital. Friends may call on the Needham Funeral Chapel (520 Dundas Street, London) on Friday from 7-9 p.m. where the service will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 1 p.m. Cremation and interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. A resident of R.R.#1 Wardsville, passed away peacefully at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the age of 68. Born in Chatham, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (GIESE) KEARNS. Beloved husband of Mary Alice HARRIS. Loving father of Barbara KEARNS- BERRY (Lonnie) of London and Michael KEARNS and Nancy CAMPBELL of R.R.#1 Wardsville. Dear brother of Marjorie McGEE (Chuck) of Thamesford, Rose Mary McALPINE (Bill) of Glencoe and Betty DORE of London. Predeceased by a brother Matt KEARNS (1984.) The Kearns family will receive Friends at the Badder and Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm Street, Bothwell on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. at North American Martyrs Cemetery, Wardsville with Fr. F. MURPHY of St. Charles R.C. Church as celebrant. If desired, memorial contributions to Four Counties Health Services Foundation or a charity of ones choice may be made by cheque at the funeral home.
