24, 2007, who died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current.
Fred enjoyed retirement here on Manitoulin and spent many happy days golfing
with his Friends. He is survived by his wife Jeanette, daughters Jo-Ann
SMITH (husband Steven) and Jan
HUGHES (husband Ernie) and son Robert
LAUER (wife
Bonnie) as well as four much loved grandchildren: Stephanie
and Murray
SMITH and Samantha and Matthew
LAUER.
Two sisters are left to
mourn his loss: Nancy
RAMSEY of Maryland USA and Elizabeth
HILL of
England.
Predeceased by two brothers Ronald and Stanley
FEW.
Fred chose
cremation and, as was his wish, there will be no service.

Of Saint Thomas and formerly of London and Montreal passed away
on Monday, April 28th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General
Hospital, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Constance Eileen
(FEWTRELL)
COOK and dearly loved father of Gordon and his wife
Cheryl COOK of Calgary, Lois and her husband Shawn
McMANUS of
Saint Thomas and Robert and his wife
Kathy
COOK of Victoria, British
Columbia. Dearly loved grandfather of Christopher and Denise
COOK,
David and Andrew
McMANUS and Emma
COOK. Harold was born
in Montreal on October 23rd, 1920, the
son of the late Archibald
Frederick and Frances
(HUGHES)
COOK.
Harold was a retired piano
tuner and technician. He served in the Army overseas 4 years
during World War 2. and after the war served 27 years with the
Grenadier Guards. He was a member of Bryon-Springbank Branch 533
of the Royal Canadian Legion, London. A private family service
will be held. Cremation with interment of ashes in the Mount
Royal Cemetery, Montreal. Remembrances may be made to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation or the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Palliative
Care Unit. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas in
charge of arrangements. A very special thank you to Doctor Sharon
BAKER, nurses Ann and Penny and the doctors, nurses, staff and
volunteers of the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Palliative Care Unit.
