for 9 years and then the Saint Thomas Fire Dept. as a First Class
Firefighter for over 30 years until his retirement in 1993. Irv
is also survived by his two sons Michael and his wife Beverley
and David and his wife Darlene all of Saint Thomas; by a brother

life together and enhanced the community with their involvement
in Saint Thomas - the Bambi Shop, dedicated members of Knox Presbyterian
Church for over 50 years, teaching, the Seniors' Centre and various

DAWSON of Thunder Bay. Carol moved to Pembroke
in 1957 at which time she continued her teaching career for two
years at Victoria Street Public School. The 60's and 70's were
focused on raising her children and thereafter working with Henry
in his law firm. Carol's impact on life in the community was
enormous through her involvement in a myriad of clubs, charitable
organizations and endeavours. She will be especially remembered
for her long-time involvement in the Pembroke Ski Club, Canadian
Club, Alexandra Club and the Women's Auxiliary of the First Presbyterian
Church. Carol served the people of Ontario during her tenure
on the Ontario Parks Council with pride and vigour where she
travelled the province at large. Those who knew Carol know that
she enjoyed life to the fullest and was grateful for her ability
to remain active until overtaken by illness. Many will remember
Carol's competitive, no nonsense nature and her particular love
of bridge. Carol loved the outdoors and found peace and great
satisfaction working in her garden at her home on Supple Street.
Until now, Carol continued to be active with Henry on the ski
hill, on the tennis court, on the beaches of Mexico, Florida
and Mont Ste. Marie, at the horse races in Saratoga and Florida,
at the National Arts Centre and on the dance floor. Well known
for her infectious laugh and love of a good party, Carol was
always happiest when she had the opportunity to host family and
Friends in her home. Visitation at the Malcolm Deavitt and Binhammer
Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St, Pembroke on Monday from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday
at 11 a.m., followed by cremation. Spring interment in Calvin

Born in Newark, New Jersey, on March 14, 1911, died in Oakville,
Ontario on April 24, 2008. A graduate of the University of Western
Ontario, with a B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry, Frank's professional
life was with his father's Company Yokum Faust Chemicals in London.
After the sale of Yokum Faust Chemicals to a national firm, Frank
and his family relocated to Montreal, Quebec for several years
and then to Oakville, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife of nearly
60 years, Mildred C.

Funeral Home Chapel at 56 Lakeshore Road West (one block East

of Saint Michael's in London, St. Malachy's in Montreal and St. Andrew's
in Oakville. Frank will be interred at Saint Peter's Cemetery in
London, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian
Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

After a lengthy battle with dementia, Martin "Buzz" in his 73rd
year of Forest, went home to be with his Saviour suddenly but
peacefully at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on May 12, 2008.
