BREEN, Allan Roy
Peacefully at Millennium Trail Manor in Niagara Falls, on Saturday, May 31st, 2008, in his 86th year. He was the son of the late Albert BREEN and Eliza Jane CHARLTON. A Merchant Navy Veteran, he later married and moved to Port Colborne from Owen Sound. Beloved husband of Laura ERICKSON, of St. Catharines. Cherished father of Patricia Anne McINTYRE and her husband, Rand, of Cambridge. Dear brother of Rita GOETZ, of Shallow Lake and Leonard BREEN, of Owen Sound. Loving step-father of Cathy LUXMORE, Carol ERICKSON and step-grandfather of Matthew. Predeceased by his first wife, Doris FLOOD, three brothers, Fred, Norman and Nelson and three sisters, Sally BEVAN, Vera BAWCUTT and Alma McBRIDE. Al will be sadly missed by both family members and Friends. A Memorial Service for Alan BREEN will take place in the Chapel of the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th St. W., Owen Sound, N4K-3X8 (519-376-7492) on Saturday, June 7th, 2008 at 2: 30 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to service.

Of Saint Thomas, passed away on March 10, 2008 at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 85th year. son of the late William and Beatrice (FRANCE) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and brother of the late Clifford THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON. Dear Poppie will be sadly missed by his eight great-grandchildren: Isabella, Davis, Lily, Emma, Anna, Gracie, Sydney and Ayva. Bert was born in Toronto on May 25, 1923. He had various jobs in his early career in the Toronto and Richmond Hill area but spent 24 years full-time and 7 years part-time in preaching for the churches of Christ in Ontario and Manitoba. Resting in Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas, where his funeral service will be held Thursday, March 13 at 1 p.m. Visitation Wednesday, March 12, from 2: 30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Internment will take place on March 14th at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford, Ontario. Donations to the Key to the Kingdom television program and Great Lakes Bible College would be appreciated.

CASSIN, Francis " Frank" Earl
At Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, on Monday, June 23, 2008, Francis "Frank" Earl CASSIN, age 83 of Chatham, husband of the late Mary Pauline (Cajka) (Ross) (2005). Born in London on December 7, 1924 son of the late Mary Oultram and Francis CASSIN, he was a former business owner and served with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War 2. He will be sadly missed by: his children, Wayne and wife Nancy of Owen Sound, Gwen PAYNE of Sarnia, and Susan BOYER of Vancouver, and their mother Marjory CASSIN, 3 grandchildren, Robert, Michael and Shelley, 3 sisters Marjorie BENNETT and husband John, Lorraine ERICKSON and Beverly HENRY all of London and a brother Kenneth and wife Gerry also London. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Raymond and Albert CASSIN. Frank will be taken from the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S., Chatham to Christ Anglican Church where visiting will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008. Funeral Service will be conducted in Christ Anglican Church, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul MILLWARD, officiating. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery, London at 3 p.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. ERLING, Emil Erland " Dutch"
Born September 29, 1922, in Kristinestad, Finland, passed away peacefully at home in St. Catharines, Ontario, on February 12, 2008 after a short but difficult battle with cancer. Emil Erland ERLING ('Dutch') was the son of the late Henrik Erland and Aina Cecilia (née ERIKS.) Predeceased by brother Ernest, survived by brother Donald, sister Hulda. Generous and supportive father of Elizabeth (Bruce DAVIES), Kristen, Sally (Scott BARTLE) and Jonathan, and grandfather to Zena, Kela, Finn, Calder, Nico and Jesse. Predeceased by his ex-wife JoAnn (née BURCH.) Emil immigrated with his parents at an early age to Canada and grew up in St. Catharines. An able athlete and excellent student, he was a Rotary Medalist at the St. Catharines Collegiate and Vocational Institute in 1941. Immediately after high school, he became a Flying Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as Navigator with the 'Jardin' crew of Squadron 625, completing a tour of duty between November 1944 and April 1945. As a benefit of his wartime service, he was able to get a university education and graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1949. He spent his entire career as a consulting engineer, a role for which he was exceptionally well suited. He worked initially with Hanright and Company Limited, becoming Vice-President and Chief Engineer. He was then Chief Engineer Power at Sandwell and Company. In 1963 he became a Partner of White, Mossop and Erling Associates, Consulting Engineers, where he spent the remainder of his working life. Emil was an active member of the local business and charitable community, and was respected and well liked by all who knew him. He was a Past President of the St. Catharines Chamber of Commerce, a Past Chairman of the St. Catharines Business Development Commission, a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, a Past Chairman of the Niagara Chapter of the Engineering Institute of Canada, and a Life Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. An avid golfer, curler and card player (bridge and cribbage), he will be missed by his many Friends. He was a member of the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club and the Lamplighters' Investment Club. Arrangements entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. A reception to honour Emil's life and share remembrances will be held at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club on Monday, February 25th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Very special thanks to the caring staff at Paramed and the Juravinsky Cancer Centre for their support and assistance during the past several months. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Emil ERLING may be made to the charity of your choice.

DINSMORE, Greta
A funeral service was held at McMillan and Jack Funeral Chapel in Dundalk on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Greta (SMITH) DINSMORE of Barrie, in her 76th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald DINSMORE (1926-1968.) They were married June 5, 1954 in Saint Thomas Anglican Church in Bracebridge, Ontario.
Dear mother of Gary and Heather DINSMORE of Mississauga and Ashley DINSMORE (Ryan HALL) of Little Britain, Ontario. She is sadly missed by sister Barbara (Pat) FITZMAURICE. Predeceased by her brothers Mervin and Keith and a sister Velma WAGG. Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Bill DINSMORE of Mississauga and sisters-in-law Doris LANGDON of Dundalk, Audrey DUNCAN of Etobicoke and Barbara McMILLAN of Elmira.
Minister was Rev. Janet ERIKSEN of Dundalk United Church, where a delicious lunch was served following the service for relatives and Friends from Mississauga, Bracebridge and other areas.
Burial will take place in Badjeros Cemetery in the spring.

DILLMAN, Mavis
The family of the late Mavis DILLMAN would like to thank our family, Friends and neighbours for their support during our time of sorrow; for prayers, cards, flowers, donations, phone calls, visits and food. A very special thank you to Doctor Gord WILLANS, the F-Wing nurses and the Cancer Clinic nurses at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville for their excellent medical care of our mother during her struggle with cancer. We are grateful for the comforting words and spiritual guidance of Rev. Janet ERIKSEN the assistance of Norm JACK and staff at McMillan and Jack Funeral Home; the memorial service music by Maxine COPELAND, the Dundalk United Church for use of the lower hall to visit with family and Friends and the Dundalk United Church Women for preparing and serving lunch and following the memorial service. Words can not express how deeply touched we are for all the support at this time of our loss.
