FINLAYSON, Mary Jane Leone
Peacefully at home in Seaforth, with her loving family at her side, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, Mary Jane Leone FINLAYSON in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur FINLAYSON (2001.) Dearly loved mother of Gail (Bill) UHLER, Diane (Stephen) MARCH, Jim (Marian) FINLAYSON, Brad (Teresa) FINLAYSON, Brenda (Ken) EMPEY, and Brett (Janice) FINLAYSON. Loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Survived by brother Bill (Norma) COLEMAN, Kippen and sister Shirley (Cliff) DELL, Belleville. Predeceased by a granddaughter Jamie FINLAYSON, in infancy and sisters Annie (Hugh) MORENZ and Sadie COLEMAN. Mary was active in many community activities and a of Northside United Church. She cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren and Friends. Over the years she enjoyed lawn bowling and reporting club news. Her love of gardening, cooking and quilting was evident by her successes at the Fall Fair. Visitation will be held at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 23 at 11: 00 a.m. at Northside United Church, Seaforth. Interment Harpurhey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Northside United Church, Seaforth Community Hospital, Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club or a charity of one's choice. McFARLANE, Donald Cecil, M.D., F.R.C.S.
Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Llynda McFARLANE, née HINDS, and the late Frances Margaret McFARLANE, née SMITH. Dear father of David McFARLANE (Susan,) Karen EMPEY (James,) Donald McFARLANE (Marie,) and Joanne BROWNE (David) and dear stepfather of Amanda NUGENT (Michael) and Sarah DEL CORRAL (Felipe.) Loving grandfather of Sarah, Joanna, and Christopher McFARLANE Jennifer, Allison, and Gillian EMPEY; Donald, Victoria, and Geoffrey McFARLANE; James, Cameron, Darcy and Connor BROWNE; and Addison NUGENT. Dear brother of the late Doctor Robert M. McFARLANE and his wife Patricia McFARLANE. Born in London, Ontario, Don attended Ridley College and later served as Chairman of their Board. He went on to attend the University of Western Ontario from 1945-1951, where he was an outstanding athlete who played football for the Western Mustangs and was a member of the 1948 Olympic Track Team. As an ophthalmologist, he was a highly respected surgeon and teacher. Don was a loving husband and wonderful father who especially cherished his time with family and Friends at Gull Island, Muskoka. A special thank you to Colleen MacDonell and Florie Regidor. A private family service will take place on Saturday, March 8. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A public memorial service will be conducted on Friday, March 28 at 11: 00 a.m. at the Church of Saint_John the Evangelist, 280 Saint_James Street at Wellington, London. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Ridley College, P.O. EMPTAGE, Marcella " Mary" Sarah (née McCLURE)
Marcella 'Mary' Sarah EMPTAGE, beloved wife of Elgin EMPTAGE, formerly of Meaford, passed away peacefully at Georgian Heights in Owen Sound where they had been currently residing, on Monday May 5, 2008, at the age of 91. Born in Trafalgar, Mary was the daughter of the late William and Olive (née JOHNSTONE) McCLURE. She was predeceased by her brother James William McCLURE. Mary will be fondly remembered as a dear sister-in-law by Margaret “Peggy” MARSHALL of Owen Sound, and Pearl EMPTAGE of Blind River and as a dear aunt by her several nieces and their families. Funeral services will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, N4L 1B9 (519-538-1320) on Wednesday May 7 at 3: 30 p.m. with interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home the hour prior to service.
