In loving memory of Orval Gordon KINGWELL, 70 years, who passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday January 31st, 2008, with his family by his side. Orval will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Marjorie (KUHL) of Wahnapitae. Loving father of Carolyn CARROLL (Reg) and Kathryn GOSSELIN (Dwight LYNDS.) Cherished grandfather of Lacey CARROLL and Travis GOSSELIN (father Richard GOSSELIN.) Dear son of the late Gordon and Ethel (née ELDER) KINGWELL. Dear brother of Lawrence (Sharon,) Kenneth (Linda) and brother-in-law to Doreen (Ken WHITE/WHYTE,) Allan KUHL (Donna), Pat (Don BURK/BURKE), Joyce (Doug KEELING), and predeceased by Orval KUHL (Gail predeceased.) Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, relatives and Friends. Orval has touched the lives of many people. He retired from the Iron Workers Union local 786 on January 1st, 2000. He served on the executive committee of the Wahnapitae Community Centre and dedicated many years of his life to coaching baseball (Molson Men) and hockey. His “Heaven on Earth” was his camp on Thor Lake. Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Monday, February 4th, 2008 at 6: 30 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Formerly of Hanover, passed away at Brucelea Haven Home for the Aged, Walkerton on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. She was 95. Survived by daughters Sharon KOBE of Durham, Carol (Bob) HAWKINS of Stratford, son Glenn (Donna) KOBE of R.R.#2 Walkerton, 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Gordon (Blanche) ELDER of R.R.#4 Chesley. Predeceased by husband David KOBE, great-granddaughter Georgia and a sister Ferna MacKIE. Loved step-mother of Susan and her husband Jim EASON of London, England, Robin BAKER and her husband Les VOAKES of Merrickville, Laurel and her husband Kevin O'CONNOR of Tecumseh and James and his wife Joanne BAKER of Janetville. Loved grandmother of Kimberley (Scott) LEE, Michael BERTLING and David (Leigh) BERTLING, Stephen EASON (Lisa,) Kaven BAKER- VOAKES, Tallis BAKER- VOAKES and Rory O'CONNOR. Kathleen was born in Edinborough, Scotland on April 8th, 1925. She was retired from the Bank of Nova Scotia. Kathleen was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and volunteered over 16 years at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. The family will receive Friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Tuesday from 4: 00 to 7: 00 p.m. A service to celebrate Kathleen's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, in Saint Thomas with the Reverend Joyce E. Cherished mother of Nick and his wife Lucy D'ASCANIO and Andrena and her husband Enzo (Ed) PALMA. Predeceased by her daughter Dora DI VIRGILIO (1994,) who is survived by her husband Ermando DI VIRGILIO. Loving grandmother of Annette RATTAZZI, Angelo D'ASCANIO, Lisa and James SINGER, Licia and Steve ELDER, Angela DI VIRGILIO, Mark and Krista PALMA and David and Cheryl PALMA. Adored great-grandmother of Stephen, Laura, Christopher, Nicholas, Noah, Jaclyn, Alyssa, Jordan and Taylor. Dear sister of Ada and Domenic MANINI. Predeceased by her two brothers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A. and Italy. Her family will receive Friends at the John T. Of Saint Thomas, passed away on Thursday, April 3rd, 2008, at her late residence, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband Aljoe W. O'NEIL (1978) and loved mother of Marjorie (Darrell) DENNIS, Sheila (Tom) MARTIN and Douglas ALJOE and his partner Jane McGUGAN all of Saint Thomas, and the late Nancy ELDER (2005.) Loved grandmother of Gordon DENNIS, Michael (Tammy GREDIG) DENNIS, Neil DENNIS and partner Tanya HOLCOMBE, Jennifer (Joel) HAYES, Andrea (Jamie) HAWKRIGG and Mandy (Kevin) RUTKAUSKAS. Loved great-grandmother of Benjamin DENNIS, Heather, Kyle and Nathan DENNIS, Peri and Lex HAYES, Jett HAWKRIGG and Adley and Will RUTKAUSKAS. Dear sister of Olive BOND of Saint Thomas and cousin of Marilyn (Roberts) CORNFOOT and Marie (Roberts) DAVIS of North Wales. Dorothy was born in Saint Thomas on July 3rd, 1910, the eldest daughter of Harry Edward and Bertha (MUNRO) ROBERTS. She graduated from Arthur Voaden Vocational School with the Medal of Proficiency and was secretary to Doctor Voaden for several years. In 1951 she joined the staff of City Hall as secretary and cashier in the offices of City Engineer and City Treasurer until she retired in 1972, and then enjoyed traveling. She was a life member of Central United Church, and a member for 58 years of the Edna Rebekah Lodge and was also Past Noble Grand. The family will receive Friends and relatives at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. followed by a private family service. Interment in Elmdale Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.

CATTELL- WALLACE, Edward " Wally"
Of Saint Thomas, passed away on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 71st year. Dearly loved husband of Mary Patricia (FOWLER) CATTELL and loved brother of Rev. Dr. H. REGINALD and his wife Dorothy CATTELL, Sheila Marilyn (CATTELL) and her husband Gary ELDER and the late Betty Alice (CATTELL) URSACKI (1991.) Wally was born in Saint Thomas on June 23, 1937, the son of the late John Harold (November 3, 1980) and Ethel Veril (CARPENTER) CATTEL (March 19, 2001.) Wally lived all his life in Saint Thomas and was a retired Horticulturist with the City of Saint Thomas. He was also a member of the Elgin Regiment Trumpet Band. Mass the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Anne's Church on Thursday at 10: 00 a.m. Burial to follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. No visitation prior to the service. After a long and courageous battle, passed away at The Carpenter Hospice on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in his 57th year. Beloved husband, soul mate and compassionate friend of Kathy for 34 years. Loved father of Sara FULMER and the late Scott FULMER (December 10, 2002.) Dear son of Claire FULMER of Kingsville and the late Jean and son-in-law of Lorne ELDER of Waterdown and the late Gladys "Sue". Brother of Ron of Blenheim, Gary and his wife Kathy of Kingsville, Glen and his wife Judy of Mississauga and Murray and his wife Maria of Toronto and the late Mark FULMER. Dear brother-in-law of Jean and her husband Bob MacBRIDE of Maine, Ken ELDER and his wife Carol of Ottawa and John and his wife Cheryl of Belleville. Ray will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thanks to Doctor Mo Ali from the bottom of Ray's heart. It was you that gave him the strength and hope to continue fighting. He cherished your Friendship and respected your professionalism, but most of all, your warmth, compassion and sincerity. Ray began his career in 1977 with Horne LLP Chartered Accountants in Burlington and was made a Partner in 1982. Over the years, Ray felt very privileged to relate to his clients on both a professional and personal level, and provide them with quality service. Helping clients succeed gave Ray great satisfaction. Ray had a passion for traveling in his "toy" and spent many relaxing hours going cross-country. He was an active member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club, Carlisle Oldtimers Hockey and Waterdown Slo-Pitch. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. MacNEILL, William " Bill" Cavendish
Passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Aurora Retirement Residence on March 30, 2008. Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Norma Lorraine MacNEILL (née SEARLE,) his loving daughters, Mary Louise BEYEA and Joanne Elizabeth ELDER, his four grandchildren, Mara Anne BEYEA, Colin MacNeill BEYEA, Christopher William ELDER and Jessica Jeanne ELDER. His loving nieces and nephew, Cathy, Celia and David, and his cousin Ramsey MacDOUGAL and his close family friend Phyllis BALDWIN. Bill was born on November 3, 1921 and was in his 87th year. Bill grew up in Owen Sound, and at 19 years of age enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served as a Flight Lieutenant during World War 2, Flying with the Coastal Command in Iceland, England and in the Azores. Following the war, Bill attended University of Toronto where he earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Following his post secondary schooling, Bill joined McRae Engineering Equipment Ltd. He retired as President and Chairman of McRae Engineering Equipment Ltd. In 1988. Bill was an avid golfer and member of the Donalda Club. He will be greatly missed by his family and Friends. We would like to acknowledge the wonderful loving care that Bill received at Sunrise of Aurora. We thank you so much. WRIGHT, Hubert Clarke " Hugh"
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hubert (Hugh) WRIGHT on June 16, 2008. A proud Maritimer, Hugh was born in Shepody, Albert County, New Brunswick, in 1920 and never lost his love for that most beautiful part of Canada. He is predeceased by Elsie, a wise and kind lady with whom he shared some 65 years, and his son Harvey, who passed away far too early at age 52. Hugh is survived by his daughter Janet ELDER, son-in-law Terry, granddaughters Christine, Joanna and Margaret, daughter-in-law Lynda WRIGHT and grand_son Matthew. He will be greatly missed by his sister Annie WRIGHT of Shepody, New Brunswick, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and Friends. A long-time employee of Moore Business Forms, member of the Rotary Club of Toronto, charter member of St. Luke's United Church and, more recently, a member of Royal York Road United Church, he was a good and true friend to all who knew him. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke (between Kipling and Islington Avenues), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2008. Born in Harwich Township, son of the late Herbert and Esther (MAYNARD) STIRLING. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (MILLER) STIRLING (2005.) Loving father of Linda and John SHOULDICE of London, Joan and John LUGTIGHEID of R.R.#2 Kent Bridge, and John and Pat STIRLING of Dorchester. Cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 12.
