GAS, John
Passed away quietly in his sleep June 19, 2008 at Sprucedale Care Centre Strathroy. John was a quiet, private individual who never complained about anything in his life. He survived World War II travelling all through Europe with the Polish army accepting his war wounds as a part of life. Immigrated to Canada from his beloved country Poland to start a new life in a new country. He came to Canada and worked on a market gardening farm for a few years. Then obtained a job at Downhams Nursery where he spent the rest of his working years cultivating his love for plants. John and his wife Helena settled on a farm in the Mount Brydges area where they lived until Helena passed away and John continued to farm until five years ago when he went to Sprucedale. Predeceased by his wife Helena and a sister Marta. He also leaves his brother-in-law Mike DUCH and wife Donna. He will be sadly missed by a niece, nephews and close Friends. Visitation at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Friday June 20 from 7-9 p.m. with Parish prayers at 6: 30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from All Saints Church Strathroy on Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. with Father Michael KISZKO officiating. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to John.

Peacefully at home on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at age 76. Beloved husband of Barbara. Dearly loved father of Susan Graham PARKER, Steven and Thomas. Loving brother to Ruth HAMM, Robert GRAHAM and Maureen DUCH (Deceased.) Papa will be sorely missed by Jordan and Danny, Breanne and Jesse, Elizabeth and great-granddaughter Seleena. Remembered fondly by Jim, Ann, Marg, Joanne and Rob. Friends will be received at the "Scarborough Chapel" of McDougall and Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Avenue E.) on Tuesday, January 15, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service on Wednesday, January 16, at Heritage United Church in Whitevale at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at Herongate, 2885 Altona Road.

Beloved wife of the late John VAN ZANDWYK (1990). Dear mother of Harry of R.R.#2 Zurich, Michael and Emelien of R.R.#2 Zurich, Janny and Ted DUCHARME of London and Dorothy BONVIE of Zurich. Loving grandmother of Daniel and Maaike, Deanna and Hebron, Derek, Laura, Michael, Kallie, Amber and Morgan. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Albert and Luanna MARTIN, Alma MARTIN, Irvin and Grace MARTIN, Gladys MARTIN, Marion MARTIN. Peacefully at Saint Marys Memorial Hospital, on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008. Dorothy E. (KASTNER) HOOPER in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold E. HOOPER (2002.) Loving mother of Jane DUCK of Toronto and Catherine HOOPER of Guelph and a dear mother-in-law of the late Fred DUCK. Cherished Nanny of John DUCK and his wife Aileen of Hamilton, Alix DUCK of Toronto. She is fondly remembered by a niece Doris and a nephew Edgar. She is predeceased by her parents Harrison KASTNER and the former Leila McMASTER. Resting at the L.A.
