BARKER, Carman Edward
On May 23rd, 2008, in his 88th year after a courageous attempt to overcome a massive stroke. Carman's greatest pleasure was his family and home. He will be dearly missed and remembered affectionately by Rae (née PHILLIPS) his wife of 60 years, his three daughters Patricia (Jim CROSSLAND) of Sandford, Ontario Susan (Gary DOERKSEN) of Golden, British Columbia; and Kathleen (Bob SMALLWOOD) of Ottawa, Ontario; and his five grandchildren Erin (Barry CRAWFORD;) Graham, Keith, Andrew and Brenley, all of whom he was very proud. Carman was the son of the late Major Ralph BARKER, M.D. and Mabel (née WARREN) of Portland, Ontario and is predeceased by his sister Cecile TOPPIN. Carman answered the call for Military duty from 1939-1945 with training in England followed by service in France, Holland and Belgium. After the war he became a successful businessman in Toronto and Winnipeg, and settled in Aurora in 1969. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 30th, 1 p.m. at Aurora United Church, 15186 Yonge Street, Aurora, Ontario. Interment will follow at the Aurora Cemetery. Suddenly as a result of a tragic accident on Saturday, April, 12, 2008, we lost Chris. Dearly loved son of Linda (Gary) DOERKSON of London and Al (Cheryl) SPENCER of St. Clair Beach. Beloved brother of Kelly, Jason, Ambre, Ashli, Luke, Debbie (George), Karen (Mike,) and Scott. Loving grand_son of Marg WARD, Hazel DOERKSON and Donna BEER. Chris will also be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and Friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 at 10: 00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. MAHONY, Bonnie Marion Adele
Peacefully, at Marion Villa Hospital on Thursday, June 19th, 2008, Bonnie Marion Adele MAHONY passed away in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late John K. MAHONY, loving mother of Laurie (and son-in-law Ron) MARR, Louise (and partner Paul DODGSON) MAHONY, and cherished grandmother of Keefer and Jackson MARR. Bonnie is survived by her dear sister Lorna (and brother-in-law Gord) KYLE, and treasured friend Linda DOERKSON. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved cats. Bonnie was a kind and generous person, who brought joy to those around her. She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her charm and her beauty. Special thanks go out to the caring staff, 4th and 5th floors of Marion Villa Hospital. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. At the family's request memorial donations may be made to the London Humane Society. Loving mother of Joan PERKINS (David) of London and Bonnie DOERR (the late Terry, 1983) of Goderich. Cherished grandmother of Jane LEBLANC (Eddie) of New Brunswick, Ruth PERKINS (John MOAD) of London, Carol URQUHART (Brian) of London and great-grandmother of Samantha and Michael. Also survived by brothers Melvin MAY and Bruce MAY (Mary) and sister-in-law Bernice MAY. Special aunt to Linda SPENCER (John.)
