DEACON, George Edwin
Following a short illness, shortly before his 90th birthday George passed away in the Wiarton Hospital on July 24th, 2008. Beloved Husband of Norma Jean (CAMPBELL.) He will be greatly missed by his children: Lynda (LITWILLER) husband Larry, Leslie (BLANCHER) husband Richard, and son David. Dear grandfather to Shelley (BRETHAUER,) husband Jamie, Glen (LITWILLER,) wife Kelly, Neil and Kim BLANCHER. Great-grandfather to Shelby, Riley and Brooke-Lynn who loved spending time with him in his Sauble Beach home. Predeceased by 3 brothers, Frank, Herbert and Harold. Survived by sisters Laurna HASSUM, Ena McKELLAR and Dorothy NAKULAK. A member of Zion Amabel United Church (Sauble Beach), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, George served in World War 2 for 6 years. George lived for his wife, children and fishing, and was a big Blue Jays baseball fan. A memorial service will be held at Westmount Funeral Home, 1001 Ottawa Street S., Kitchener (at Westmount Rd.) on Monday, July 28th at 4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Zion Amabel United Church, Sauble Beach, and can be arranged by contacting the funeral home at 519-743-8900.

Beloved husband of the late Elsie MAYO (née LEONARD) (2006) Dear father of Leonard and Marti MAYO of Reno, Nevada and Sandra HOSKIN of Innisfail, Alberta. Dear grandfather of Robert and Heather MCINNES/MCINNIS and Keith and Melissa MCINNES/MCINNIS. Dear great-grandfather of Kaelin, Danika and Joshua MCINNES/MCINNIS. Also survived by a nephew, Harold HILL of Sarnia and a special niece, Nancy FREER of Corunna. Predeceased by a brother, William MAYO and two sisters, Ruby DEACON and Myrtle HILL. She was one of a hand-picked group providing transportation for the men planning the Normandy invasion. Monty immigrated to Canada in 1947 and in Toronto met and married David in 1949. Died peacefully at the age of 91 on Sunday, June 8, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Rosemary (CONLIN,) and his nine children and thirty three grandchildren; Anne and Brian SPENCER (Andrew (Anne Marie), Patrick, Matthew, Michael, Timothy), Joe and Nancy (Carolyn, Jeffrey, Allison, Martha), Mike and Sharon (Conlin, Mollie, Lizzie), Liz (Danielle (J.P. FORTIN), Ashley, Jody, Kristine BLACK), Paul and Jane, (Caitlin, Kylie, Megan, Shannon, Ryan), Rosemary and Jim SIMANDL, (James, Kate, Madeline, Will) Steve and Nancy (Peter, Sarah, Sean), Jody and Bryan KELLY, (Rowan and Jack), Martha and Brady IRWIN (Camille, Rory and Thomas). Jack is also survived by his sister Claire COLGAN of Bath, Ontario, and was predeceased by his brother George, and sisters Eileen DEAN and Jean DOHERTY. Visitation will be held at the R.S. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our precious angel Elyce Megan on March 20, 2008. Elyce was born March 15, 2008 and battled bravely for five days, she will be in our hearts forever. She will be sadly missed by her parents Sandra FORSHAW, Corey PROWSE and three siblings Emily, Conor and Sarah. Loving grandparents Donna BERGLES, Lynn and Paul PROWSE, Anton and Maria BERGLES. Will also be remembered by great-grandmother Maria CALANDRA, great-aunt Mary KELLY, great-uncle Steve KELLY and second cousins Michelle and Nicole KELLY. Aileen was predeceased by her brothers, Gordon and Maurice WHIDDEN and her sister Ruth BEARD. Sorely missed by best friend Gladys HOUCK, sister-in-law Greta WHIDDEN and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces in Canada and the U.S. She had been a resident of Thompson House for 16 years and enjoyed many dear Friends and an active social life to the end.
An accomplished singer and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Aileen gave her time, talents and heart to those she loved, her church and her community.
The family is grateful to the caring staff at Thompson House. Donations in Aileen's memory to the Don Mills Foundation for Seniors would be greatly appreciated.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Joyce, on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Joyce, in 78th year, is lovingly remembered by her five children: John (Tammy), Nancy (Les), Janice, Bruce and Trish (Ted); her wonderful grandchildren in North Delta, British Columbia, Beaverton and Thunder Bay, Ontario; as well as her great-grandchildren in Thunder Bay. Survived by siblings Bob (Elsie), Clare (Cecile) and Mava and predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) DEAS. Rarely seen without her knitting, she always had a sweater or two on the go. Every shopping expedition included a "look at the wool" no matter the destination. The family will receive Friends at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton (705-426-5777) on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. The family would appreciate memorial donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Canadian Cancer Society, Lions Club of Beaverton or a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers. Peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Jean and the late Beulah. Loved father of Lenore DEAVILLE and Lynne DENNIS and the late Lois KALYN. Step-father of Nick KUKULAN. Dear grandfather to Darcie, Denice, Deanne, Monique, Teri, Tom, Rick, Nancy, Laura and the late Colleen. Great-grandfather of Madeline, Elaine, Kim, Kate, David, Steve, Ashley and Stephen. Great-great-grandfather of Callie. Mr. REILLY represented the Eglinton Riding as an M.P.P. from 1962-1975 and later was Chairman of the Ontario Science Centre. He was well known as the owner of Reilly Lock. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 25. Service in the chapel on Monday, May 26 at 1 o'clock.
