Lloyd was born in Wascada, Manitoba. He
grew up during the dust bowl in the height of the Depression,
learning to be tough, smart and resourceful on a family farm
that was literally blowing away. Lloyd left the farm and started
his life in Copper Cliff where he met his partner of 53 years,
Nettie. Lloyd became a loving husband, father and later grandfather.
He became a very successful business owner of Oke Electronics.
Lloyd was incredibly bright with many interests and talents.
He could bake the most incredible pie, install a furnace or fix
a car while hemming his pants and inserting a zipper. He loved
golf, baseball, football and even won the Richmond Hotel football
pool. He loved politics and good literature introducing his daughter
to Indian Poetry and classics like Jane Eyre. Lloyd was a very
special person who will be dearly missed. The family would like
to express their very sincere thanks to Doctor
SCHMIDT and his team.
Very special thanks to the nursing staff of Family Medicine/
Palliative Care University Hospital. The loving care and support
you provided Lloyd and his family will never be forgotten. A tree
will be planted in Lloyd's memory and at the request of the family
there will be no formal service. Please honour Lloyd instead

Philip (1929-2008)
Born in Dundalk, Ireland, Phil studied at University College
Galway, where he met his beloved Nancy, with whom he would share
the next 53 years. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling
in Ottawa where he had a long and enjoyable career at the National
Research Council. Phil was an accomplished scholar and scientist,
yet he valued his family and Friends most of all. He will be
remembered for his remarkable spirit, his unfaltering optimism
and his extraordinary joy for living. Phil was the best of company
- articulate, witty, wise, generous and so very kind. His pleasures
included literature, tennis, art, onions, writing, whisky, a
broad spectrum of music, scotch broth, theatre, wordplay, cooking
and solving crossword puzzles with Nancy and son Philip. He lived
every day as we all wish we could - fully, happily and thankfully.
Phil will be hugely missed by his wife Nancy, sons Philip and
Declan and daughter Mona, daughter-in-law Kathy

Marilyn passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2008 after
a long battle with lymphoma cancer. Her fight was a testament
to the amazing strength and dignity she exhibited all her life.

Marilyn had unshakable determination and strength. She will always
be remembered for her endless energy, compassion, kindness, warmth,
and her natural ability to relate to everyone she met. She loved
time spent with family and Friends, at the cottage sitting on
the dock with a Chardonnay, and the outdoors.
Marilyn was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland, and moved to Ontario
in her early twenties. She spent the last five years enjoying
her work in the health and education fields, most recently managing
the financial affairs of both Ozmosis Research and the Ontario
Medical Oncology Association. Marilyn cherished the special relationship
she developed with Doctor Amit Oza, Pam Degendorfer, and all of
her close colleagues. Previously, Marilyn spent close to twenty
years in the Finance Group with Maclean Hunter Limited and Rogers
Communications Inc., working in both companies' cable television
and publishing divisions, with a culminating position as Vice-President,
Finance of Rogers Publishing. Marilyn holds a Masters of Business
Administration from McMaster University and Bachelors of Education
and Science from Memorial University.
