WOOD, J.L. Beth
The families of J.L. Beth WOOD are saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in her 91st year. Wife of the late William (1977.) Dear Mother of Sandra TURNER of Ohio. Loving Grandmother of Steven and F. Carl CODDINGTON of Windsor, Elizabeth and Michael BOLTON of Tecumseh, and Rebecca and Keith McCLOSKEY of Michigan. Great-grandmother of Chase and Hunter BOLTON, and Sydney and Blake McCLOSKEY. Sadly missed by nephew Peter YONSON and special nieces Lucy and Susan ASHTON of London. Predeceased by her brother, James MacFIE (1946,) sisters, Elsie (MacFIE) YONSON (1989,) Evelyn (MacFIE) ASHTON (1992,) and special nephew, Jim ASHTON (1994.) A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Saint Mary's, Ontario.

SHEFFER, Alma Alma Mildred (née SAUNDERS)
Age 87, formerly of Brigden, died peacefully at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia, on Sunday, July 6, 2008, with her family by her side. Survived by her family Shirley and Roy COOPER of Wyoming, Marion and John FORD of Brigden, and Evelyn and Rae JAPP of Brigden. Grandchildren Bev WRIGHT, Stephen and Elizabeth COOPER, Sandra and David BERRY, Carol FORD and Jeff TANNER, Bonnie and Joe DAWSON, Vicki and Chris CRAN, John and Shannon FORD, Eddy and Carrie JAPP, Barry and Trisha JAPP, and Jeffery and Rachel JAPP, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grand_son. Also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law Thelma SAUNDERS, Dorothy and Jacob SPENLER, Marion CODLING, Ruby and Sherman BAILEY, Stella SHEFFER, and Floyd and Rita SHEFFER. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Rachel Jane (WILLIAMSON) SAUNDERS, brothers and sisters Stella, Cecil, Nettie, Bettie, Jacob, Marion, Earl, and three infants and a granddaughter Mary Kathleen FORD. It was Mother's wish that there be a private service following cremation. Interment at Saunders Family Cemetery, Brooke Township, Lambton County. Sympathy donations may be made to the C.E.E. Hospital Foundation, Petrolia, (the Pat Mailloux Cataract Clinic Memorial Fund), or the charity of your choice. At his residence on Thursday July 10, 2008. Jack L. GRIFFIN of Caressant Care, Woodstock and formerly of Cathcart in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Jean M. (née CODY) GRIFFIN. Dear father of Stanley and his wife Shirley of Innerkip and their family Angie AIZIC (Steven) and Shawn (Nina), Bill and his wife Vicki of Innerkip and their family Tanya GRIFFIN (Steve) and Ian (Tara,) Burt and his wife Myra of Burgessville and their family David (Christine,) Melissa HEGGIE (Tim,) Jennifer MURRELL (Dan) and great-grandfather of Travis, Ainsley and Mia-Bella. Jack is also survived by his brother-in-law Pastor Ross HARGREAVES of Embro and by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Roy, sister Violet and step-sister Lila. Jack was the last surviving member of his own family. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 2: 00 p.m. Interment in the King Lake Cemetery.
