Dick as he was known to most, also leaves behind several nieces,
nephews, grandchildren and as of last week became a great-grandfather.
He will also be sorely missed by Friends from all over the world.
At his request, no service will be held. Remembrances can be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The "Mayor" as he was
known in Port Stanley will always be remembered for his sharp
wit, his love of a cold beer, and his compassion for all. Dad
touched the hearts of all he knew and will be missed but never
forgotten.

Born July 10, 1913 in Calgary, Alberta, died July 8, 2008 at
the George Derby Centre in Burnaby, British Columbia, after a
brief illness. Predeceased by his parents George Edward and Jean
(WRIGHT)

Wallace. Survived by daughters Stephanie and Shauna, sisters-in-law
Evelyn COCHRAN and Barbara
BUTTERWICK, and nephews and nieces
in Alberta and British Columbia. Gordon taught school in southern
Alberta for a few years before studying law and being called
to the Alberta bar in 1941. He served in World War 2 as an Royal
Canadian Air Force flying officer, attached to 100 and 166 Squadrons
Royal Air Force, completing 29 bombing missions over Europe.
He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945 and married
Jessie in 1946. He practised law in Pincher Creek, Alberta for
10 years and then held public service positions in Edmonton and
Calgary, most notably as clerk of the Supreme Court, registrar
and sheriff in Calgary from 1959 to 1973. After retiring in 1975,
he moved with Jessie to Chilliwack, British Columbia and then
to Burnaby. After Jessie's death from Alzheimer's disease in
1988, Gordon lived independently for another 17 years, and then
in 2004 moved to George Derby. The family would like to thank
the staff of Lower North at George Derby for the special care
and attention they gave to Gordon, particularly during his last
days. A memorial service will be held at Como Lake United Church,
535 Marmont Street, Coquitlam, British Columbia, on Wednesday, July 16
at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's
Society of British Columbia or to a charity of your choice.

Entered into eternal rest on Thursday January 31, 2008 in his
87th year at the Grey Bruce Health Services. Glen was born in
the Markdale area and was a
son of the late Charles and Norma
(BRETT)
CONLEY.
Glen worked many years in the Barrie area. Most
of his retirement years were spent at his own home at R.R.#1,
Owen Sound where he was able to pursue his love of growing trees,
flowers and a huge vegetable garden. Glen never married but he
will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Good-bye Uncle
Glen until we see you next time. He is also survived by his sister
Lorraine and her husband Bob
