Beloved husband of Helen (Beattie) and dear father of Sherri and Peter PULA of Peterborough and Gary and Julie COCCHETTO of Ottawa. Dear son of Laura COCCHETTO of Ingersoll and the late Joe (1998.) Also loved by 6 grandchildren Amber, Evan, Marshall and Pietro "Peaches" and Rebecca and Joseph. Left us suddenly on Sunday March 23rd, 2008. John Richard BURWELL, born March 1, 1937. Beloved husband of Helen KEIZER, Dear father of John Richard BURWELL Jr, (Tammy SHARP) of Louisiana, Robyn (BURWELL) BEAR (Brett) of Cambridge, Tammy (BURWELL) COCHOIS (David) of Tecumseh, Ron KEIZER (Dorothy) of Winnipeg, Alan KEIZER (Kerry) of Sault Saint Marie, Wayne KEIZER of Selkirk; brother of Robert BURWELL (Theresa) of Saint Thomas, Ronald BURWELL (Annie) of London, Bill SANDHAM (Marilyn) of Tillsonburg; life long friend Marguerite FOWLOW of Alymer. Predeceased by his father Lewis BURWELL (January 2006,) mother Minnie (BALL) BURWELL (September 1990,) sister Joan (BURWELL) MYERS (October 1966,) nephew Randy BURWELL (February 2002,) step sister Betty JONES (January 2008.) Dick as he was known to most, also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and as of last week became a great-grandfather. He will also be sorely missed by Friends from all over the world. At his request, no service will be held. Remembrances can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The "Mayor" as he was known in Port Stanley will always be remembered for his sharp wit, his love of a cold beer, and his compassion for all. Dad touched the hearts of all he knew and will be missed but never forgotten.

BUTTERWICK, Gordon Francis
Born July 10, 1913 in Calgary, Alberta, died July 8, 2008 at the George Derby Centre in Burnaby, British Columbia, after a brief illness. Predeceased by his parents George Edward and Jean (WRIGHT) BUTTERWICK, his dear wife Jessie (COCHRAN) and his brother Wallace. Survived by daughters Stephanie and Shauna, sisters-in-law Evelyn COCHRAN and Barbara BUTTERWICK, and nephews and nieces in Alberta and British Columbia. Gordon taught school in southern Alberta for a few years before studying law and being called to the Alberta bar in 1941. He served in World War 2 as an Royal Canadian Air Force flying officer, attached to 100 and 166 Squadrons Royal Air Force, completing 29 bombing missions over Europe. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945 and married Jessie in 1946. He practised law in Pincher Creek, Alberta for 10 years and then held public service positions in Edmonton and Calgary, most notably as clerk of the Supreme Court, registrar and sheriff in Calgary from 1959 to 1973. After retiring in 1975, he moved with Jessie to Chilliwack, British Columbia and then to Burnaby. After Jessie's death from Alzheimer's disease in 1988, Gordon lived independently for another 17 years, and then in 2004 moved to George Derby. The family would like to thank the staff of Lower North at George Derby for the special care and attention they gave to Gordon, particularly during his last days. A memorial service will be held at Como Lake United Church, 535 Marmont Street, Coquitlam, British Columbia, on Wednesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of British Columbia or to a charity of your choice.

CONLEY, James Wallace Glen
Entered into eternal rest on Thursday January 31, 2008 in his 87th year at the Grey Bruce Health Services. Glen was born in the Markdale area and was a son of the late Charles and Norma (BRETT) CONLEY. Glen worked many years in the Barrie area. Most of his retirement years were spent at his own home at R.R.#1, Owen Sound where he was able to pursue his love of growing trees, flowers and a huge vegetable garden. Glen never married but he will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Good-bye Uncle Glen until we see you next time. He is also survived by his sister Lorraine and her husband Bob COCHRANE of Owen Sound and he was predeceased by a sister Audrey FLARITY also of Owen Sound and a brother Reg CONLEY of Meaford. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gardiner-Wilson Funeral Home on Meaford. In accordance with Glen's wishes he has been cremated and a private family interment will be held at Markdale Cemetery at a future date.

Beloved husband of the late former Dorothy LAKE. Loving father of Diane and her husband Ken KIVELL of Owen Sound, John and his wife Tami of Calgary, Alberta and Carol and her husband Simon BARNES of Paris. At the Dearness Home with his loving family by his side, Norm died peacefully. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Marion CLARKE. Devoted father to his children Bonnie GREENWOOD (John), Donna Jean HAMILTON (Mike), Norman (Sue), Murray, Dorathy COCHRANE (the late Leonard COCHRANE), Keith (Donna). Predeceased by son Robert. Dear grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Evelyn WILCOX (Cliff) and the families of his late brothers, Jack, Donald and Hugh. Predeceased by his parents James and Donna (ARMSTRONG.) Norm will be sadly missed by Marion's children, Clarke, Caralee, Holly and their families her brother Michael and sisters Jane and Cheri and their families. Peacefully, on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at his home, William "Bill" Russell COCHRANE passed away in his 81st year. Lovingly remembered by his many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friend Norma. Survived by sister Catherine (Jim) KING. Predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Claire (2000). A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 3 p.m. (with visitation one hour prior). MORIN, Linda
With heavy hearts, the family of Linda MORIN announces her passing on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Linda died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family following a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Much loved wife of John MORIN, cherished mother of Lorna (Jim), Adam (Nikki), adoring grandmother of Myka, sister Pat (Barry) COCHRANE, nephews, Matthew, Justin, and Sam, sister Mary Jane (George) KING, and nephew Kevin. Sister-in-law Sally (Don) CAMPBELL, nieces Jacqueline and Jill, great nephews Justin, Ryan, Elliot, and Cameron. A service and reception to celebrate Linda's life will be held at Eglinton St. George's United Church, at the corner of Duplex and Lytton at 11: 00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008. It is with tears of sorrow but smiles of remembrance that the family said goodbye to Phyllis on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Scarborough Hospital, General Division. In her 82nd year, Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband Fred. There is a hole in the hearts of her children Fred "Rick" (Cheryl), Geoff (Sherry) and Andrea COXFORD. Remembering all the good times, laughter, and baked treats Nana provided are grandchildren Brett and Neil COCKBURN, Eric and Lindsay COCKBURN and Robert and Tyler COXFORD. Phyllis leaves behind her brother Wilmot (Joan) GATES. She will be remembered by her Friends from Scarborough Public Health, Devil's Glen Ski Club, Wellesley Nurses Alumni, and line dancing.
