Peacefully surrounded by her family after a valiant battle at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Saturday July 5th, 2008. Miller in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the Late Jack BLUCHER. Dear mother of Bev and her husband Robert, Lisa and her husband Scott and Deborah and her husband James. Darling Nana to Hannah and McKenna. Sister of Eileen WILKERSON of Denver and sister-in-law to Freda ANGELL of Thunder Bay. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. At Elgin Abbey, Chesley, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, April 15th, 2008 at the age of 86 years, the former Margaret BEATTIE of Paisley. Wife of the late Alex BLUE and the late Robert ATKINSON. Mother of Jim BLUE and his wife Elaine of Paisley, Carol BLUE and her partner Brian RAWLINGS of Port Severn, Jeanette and her husband Richard ASH of Hanover, Nancy and her husband Brian ASH of Peabody, and Kim and her husband Larry MARTINI of Arkwright. Stepmother of John ATKINSON and his wife Beverly of London, Mike ATKINSON and his wife Alexina of Port Elgin, and Doug ATKINSON and his partner Sharon of Paisley. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents Louis and Nancy BEATTIE, one son Robert, and one great-granddaughter. Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. South, Paisley from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th, 2008. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Jo for nearly 65 years. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Jenefer (Barry RICE) Nelson, British Columbia; Sheila (John TUTTY) Caledon, Ontario and Jill (Louis LACOURSIÈRE) Saint-Lambert, Québec; and by his grandchildren, Danica (Cameron FULTON,) Nikki (Christopher WARREN,) Erin and Michael TUTTY, Etienne LACOURSIÈRE (Olivia,) Philippe LACOURSIÈRE (Stéfanie,) and by his great-grandchildren, Ellexi, Ellia and Bruneau. He is survived by his brother Denis (Beckenham, Kent, England). John served in the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant, Fleet Air Arm, during World War 2. In 1949 he emigrated to Canada. He worked in the aeronautical field and in insurance and real estate. Grandmother of Mike and Jenn McCALLUM, Scott and Sally McCALLUM and Mark and Jenn McCALLUM, and Great-grandmother to Brianna and Austin McCALLUM. Predeceased by her son Peter Melvin BLUHM. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Germany. Mia was a long time employee of A&P, and a great Volunteer for the community. McKONE, Isobel June (1940-2008)
Surrounded by family, Isobel passed peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Isobel will be sadly missed by her family and many Friends. Cherished mother of Margaret (Rick MAHER), Rob (Rita) and Brian (Lisa). Proud Nanna of Michele, Jessica, Graeme, Jasmine, Tristan, Matthew, Emma and Chlöe. She will be missed by her brothers Bill and Howard, sisters Sandra BLUNT (Scott) and Sheila BRANCH (Terry,) and brother-in-law Wayne (Helen). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Following her retirement as a senior administrator at the University of Toronto, Isobel continued to work as a consultant until very recently. She was an avid supporter of Tiger Woods and she will be remembered for her strength of conviction, passion and generous nature. Visitation will be held at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street), on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. In memory of Isobel, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
