On behalf of the entire family of the late Doug BICE, we wish to express a heartfelt and sincere thank you to all families, Friends, neighbours, trades, co-workers and J Car families, for the support and kindness given to us during our recent loss. Thanks to the Rev. Marjorie WHITE/WHYTE, the pallbearers, the music and the compassion show by the floral tributes, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, phone calls and sympathy cards. Thanks to Pat FRASER of Stevenson and son Funeral Home and Brad DENNING. Thanks to the Ailsa Craig Community Centre and also the Nairn Mennonite Church for the lovely luncheon. CHANTLER, Pearl Gladys (BICK)
Of Wiarton peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008. The former Pearl Gladys BICK at the age of 91 years. Loving wife of the late Edward CHANTLER. Caring mother of Kerry and his wife Sue, and Lee CHANTLER, both of Toronto, Christie CHANTLER, of Hamilton, and Clare and her husband Fred DRURY, of Wiarton. Forever cherished by her 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Pearl is predeceased by her parents Walter and Annie; one brother and one sister. Cremation has taken place. At Pearl's request there will be a memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home and Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Donations to Bruce Peninsula Hospice Inc. would be greatly appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home. In living memory of Pearl a Lilac tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home and Chapel. McKINLAY, Kathryn Clare (née McGREGOR)
A resident of R.R.#2 Blenheim, Kathryn C. McKINLAY passed away after a brief illness at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Saturday March 29, 2008 at the age of 77 years. Born in Blenheim, daughter of the late John D. and Clare NEILSON) McGREGOR. Beloved wife of R. Allan McKINLAY. Dear mother of Janet and Joe LEGUE of Dorchester, Margot and Gord BICKELL of Little Current, Jim and Mary McKINLAY of R.R.#2 Blenheim, Martha and David WICKWARE of Montreal and JoAnn and Dan NEAD of Toronto. Grandmother of 13 grandchildren. Sister of the late JoAnn CUNNING. Also surviving are sister-in-laws Margaret THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON of R.R.#2 Blenheim and Edith McKINLAY of Morpeth. Kathy was a member of Erie Street United Church and the former Morpeth United Church. She was an avid golfer and curler, enjoyed playing bridge, and spending time at the Ridgetown Seniors Centre. The family will receive Friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East Ridgetown on Tuesday from 2: 00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. with Rev. Judith FAYTER officiating. Interment of cremated remains at a later date. Donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (MRI campaign) or the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated. Peacefully at his home in Oakville on Sunday, April 27, 2008. Russell, beloved husband of the late Florence (née GARDINER.) Devoted father of John and his wife Gloria, Joy SWAN and her husband Bob, Jean DAVY and her husband Phil. Loving grandfather of Jackie, Katie, Kelly, Philip SWAN, Laura and Kim DAVY. Great-grandfather of Megan, A.J., Michael, Sophia and Chloe. Brother of Myrtle BICKERSTAFF and the late Gordon STEVENSON and Wilfrid (Biff) STEVENSON. Special friend and companion of Jean MacLACHLAN. Graduate of the Class of '41, Mechanical Engineering University of Saskatchewan and a loyal employee of Imperial Oil Limited for over 40 years. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville, (one block east of Kerr, 905844-2600) Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. Visitation will also take place from 11: 30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Saint_John's United Church, 262 Randall Street, Oakville followed by a Funeral Service at 12: 30 p.m. Interment Saint_Jude's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
