Passed away, peacefully surrounded by her family, at Ross Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 26th, 2008, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Benjamin James. Loving mother of Carolynn McCRINDLE of Collingwood, Jacqueline STOCKLEY of Orillia, Anne Marie STOCKLEY of Milton, and James (Karen) STOCKLEY of Glenarm. Predeceased by daughter Marion Margaret. Loving grandmother and treasured by 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late James and Margaret DUFFY of Rathburn. Survived by sister Margaret (Peggy) DRINKLE and predeceased by sisters Mary BAYE, and Genevieve DUFFY, and brothers Arthur and Cecil DUFFY. Friends and relatives may call at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. BAYLESS, Elsie Eileen " Yummy" (née HOWE)
Resting peacefully now Elsie Eileen BAYLESS left us on Friday, July 18, 2008 in her 80th year to join her late husband Al. She is survived by her sons Jim (Lynda) BAYLESS of Ingersoll and Tim BAYLESS of Scottsville. Her grandchildren Chris (Meg,) Walt (Claire) and Damien. She was the great-grandmother to Sophie. Also survived by her sister Kay TREEHUBA, London and longtime friend Sally RICE, London. Predeceased by her husband Al (1997.) Her parents Joe and Ethel HOWE of Glencoe, her brothers Cliff, Joe, Bill and Lawrence and her sisters Dorothy and Ruth. Elsie was born in Windsor on September 22, 1928 and raised in Glencoe. Her career started at Bell Telephone as an operator where she met Al. But what she is most remembered for is as "Yummy" the camp cook at Camp Kee-Mo-Kee and Camp Towhee for her famous meals and great humour. She completed her working career on the floor of Eaton's in Wellington Square, from which she retired to look after her pets and her garden. Elsie successfully battled and survived cancer. Friends may call at the McFarlane and Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd., S., Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the Celebration of Elsie's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. Reverend Matthew PENNY officiating. Peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2008 at Longworth, M. Blanche DUNCANSON, R.N., B.Sc.N., of London in her 91st year. Cherished wife of the late John DUNCANSON. Predeceased by her parents Annie (COOPER) and John McPHEDRAN and her only sister Dorothy PURVES. Beloved aunt of Blanche QUINN (Edwin) and Robert PURVES (Carolyn.) Sadly missed by her great nieces and nephews: Robert QUINN (Carol) Diane BAYLEY (Nicholas,) their children Peter, Matthew, Carolyn and Rachel; Raymond QUINN (Katharine) and their daughter Maggie Stephen PURVES (Vanessa,) their children Erin and Ryan; Jim PURVES (Suzanne), their children Carter, Lauren and Avery. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Margaret DUNCANSON, DUNCANSON nieces and nephews and several cousins. Blanche was a graduate of Victoria Hospital and U.W.O., former director of the College of Nurses, Past President of the R.N.A.O., Director of Atkinson School of Nursing T.W.H., Nightingale School of Nursing and finished her career as a professor at University of Toronto. She retired to London in 1988 and was an active member of Westmount Presbyterian Church. Also survived by his uncle Walter BAYNE and his wife Francis and several cousins. Doug was a longtime active member and co-treasurer of St. Andrew Memorial Anglican Church and a longtime AA member (Young at Heart group). At Bluewater Health - Mitton St. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 Frieda Isobel (née BRAIN) RIGGS of Sarnia passed away peacefully to be with her Lord after a short illness at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late F. Kenneth RIGGS (1997.) Loving mother of two sons, the late Robert B. RIGGS (2005) and his wife Karis (nee McCAW) of Sarnia and David W. RIGGS and his wife Karen (née BAYNE) of Essex. Cherished grandmother of Christine, Rebecca, Julie, Bryan and Alison. She will be deeply missed by her sister Anna Mae HARROWER as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Gordon HARROWER (1999.) Isobel will also be greatly missed by her lifelong friend Bill WISE. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia at 11: 00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. BAYS, Glen Bruce
Glen Bruce BAYS, beloved husband of Suzanne (DUMONT) BAYS and son of Bruce and Beryl BAYS of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully on May 20th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 52. Glen was born in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Don Mills. He attended York University, and settled in Toronto until moving to Oakville, Ontario in 1989. He spent his entire career in banking, with Bank of Montreal, NatWest Bank and TD Securities. Glen loved life and spent much time on the golf course, squash and tennis courts. His love of travel and of life in general resulted in countless Friends. He was an amazing son, husband, cousin, friend and colleague to many people. A celebration of Glen's life will be held at Saint_Jude's Anglican Church (160 William Street, Oakville, Ontario L6J 1C5) on Friday, May 23rd, 2008, at 9: 30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if Friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Princess Margaret Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Glen and his family would like to thank the team at Princess Margaret Hospital, and Oakville Trafalgar Hospital for the wonderful care and assistance over the last few years.
