Fifty years ago you left us so suddenly. Always remembered by your wife, Amalia (Molly) and your children, Vivian, Isa, Robert and Gerald, as well as 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren who know you only from stories and pictures. Rest in peace.

RUMBLE, Edith Mae (née HIGGS)
It is with heavy hearts the Rumble family announces the passing of their matriarch and Queen, Edith Mae on Sunday March 30, 2008. Edith Mae RUMBLE (HIGGS) was born to Levi and Myrtle HIGGS (CAMPBELL) on June 2, 1920. She married her husband Leighton Frederick RUMBLE (1983) on October 3, 1941. The most important thing in life to Edith and Leighton was their family. She was the proud mother of 5 sons, and grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her boys, her pride and joy, Ted and Brenda RUMBLE, Erie Beach, her special son Timmy (1997,) Tony and Gail RUMBLE, Raglan, Michael and Nancy RUMBLE, Blenheim, and David and Carolyn RUMBLE, Blenheim. Grandmother to Becky, John, Sarah and Catherine PRESTON, Beth, Rick, Evan, Colleen and Lydia HALL, Jenny RUMBLE, Amy and Costa ZOUMBOULIS, Ian, Rhonda, Klare and Drew RUMBLE, Emily RUMBLE, Erin, Scott, Blain, Brook and Bria BACIK, Brent RUMBLE, Jackie, Kerry and Jessica RUMBLE. Survived by her sister and partner in crime Hilda DUNDAR, Whitby and sister-in-law Sara HIGGS, Kingston, brother-in-law Glen and Marilyn RUMBLE, Rodney. Predeceased by her siblings, Eileen PARKING, Evelyn MURRAY, Gordon, Walter and George HIGGS. Edith and Leighton enjoyed 29 years in the city of Guelph where she worked at Biltmore Hats keeping her boys in style. They were devoted members of Paisley United Church in Guelph and the Fourth Line Community Church. Lady Edith was an avid seamstress, Rumble Racing sponsor and fan, and life of the party. Her smile and infectious laugh, high heels, red lipstick and kisses on the lips were part of her trade mark style. The RUMBLE family will receive Friends for visitation at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street, Blenheim on Wednesday April 2, 2008 7: 00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday April 3, 2008 2:00-4:30 and 7: 00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service celebrating Edith's life will be held at the Blenheim United Church on Friday April 4, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Bruce COOK officiating. Immediately following the service, interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Friends wishing to honour Edith by way of a memorial donation may do so by contributing to a charity of their own choice. In his 52nd year, after a short battle with cancer on April 20, 2008. Loving husband of 28 years to Wendy. Devoted father of Becky (Ryan) BACK, Amy, Michelle, K.C. and Derek DEROND. Loving Opa of Kalib BACK. Predeceased by his father Marinus. Survived by his mother Paulina, and brothers and sisters Chris (Kelly), Wilma, Marty (Barb,) Diana (John,) and Richard (Tracey) DEROND. Brother-in-law to Debby (Ralph) MAIN. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A drywall tradesman all his life, he got much joy out of his work and will be missed in his field. Friends will be received at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), for visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. GOWDY, A. Claire (née BACK)
Surrounded by family at her home, on July 9th, 2008, in her 81st year. Predeceased by her husband, Robert, and her sister, Jean. Survived by her brother, Ted; sister-in-law, Jean; children, John, Elizabeth, Barbara and Mary; grandchildren, Sarah, Christopher, Robert, Emily and Laura; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann; sons-in-law, Ray and Christopher; grand_son-in-law, Chris; and by her nieces, nephews and many Friends. Claire's marvelous sense of humor, independent spirit and devotion to Tiger Woods never left her. She was a much-loved woman who accepted the inevitability of her death with great courage and humility. Her absence in our lives will be deeply felt. At Longworth Long Term Care, London on Saturday, March 29, 2008, Gertrude (HILL) GILBROOK of London in her 97th year. Loving wife of the late Joseph GILBROOK. Dear mother of Cathy McELLISTRUM and her husband Bob, Betty BACKWELL, Pat SENESE all of London and Roy GILBROOK of Arizona. Much loved grandma of Patty, Sherry, Steve, Joel, Beth, Duke, Kara, Debbie and Darryl and twelve great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Ivy ELLIS and Alice HARRIS. With her husband by her side and surrounded by her loving family, Alma Brodie (CORBETT) RYAN, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in her 82nd year. Loving wife for 62 years to James Stanley RYAN of Goderich. Mother of Alison (Gerry) PAOLIN of Niagara Falls, Mark (Lynn) RYAN of Port Albert and Wendy RYAN of Smith's Falls. Cherished grandmother of Carolyn (Dowds) McCONNELL (Ken) of Niagara Falls, Robin (Melissa) PAOLIN of Smith's Falls, Ian PAOLIN (Tiffany FLECKNEY) of Dryden, Brodie, Jaimee, Sydney and McIlwain RYAN of Port Albert and Katalin, Isaac and Emily BACON of Smith's Falls. She will also be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan McCONNELL and Anson and Sloane PAOLIN. Alma was predeceased by her son-in-law Brian DOWDS and her grand_son Yorkton RYAN. She is survived by her brother, Desmond CORBETT of Scotland, her brother-in-law William RYAN of Goderich and many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Scotland. Emigrating from Scotland where she met Stan during World War 2, the couple remained residents of Goderich for over 60 years. Alma worked at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich as a receptionist before retiring in 1991. She was a member of Victoria Street United Church for many years and was an active member of the United Church Women Family will receive Friends at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, in Goderich on Thursday, April 24th from 7-9 p.m. followed by a funeral service on Friday, April 25th at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment at Maitland Cemetery on a date to be determined. Peacefully on Friday, May 09, 2008 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Mary Katherine (née JOHNSON) KACZMARCZYK of Forest passed away in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of David C. KACZMARCZYK. Loving mother of David and Rose KACZMARCZYK of Arkona, Kellie and Steve BACON of Essex, and Kevin and Pamela KACZMARCZYK of Arkona. Sadly missed by mother Dorothy J. JOHNSON of Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Steven, Daniel, Zackary, Meagan, and Abby. Also survived by sister Patricia WATTERS of Corunna and several nieces and nephews. BACON, Gladys Isobel
(May 5, 1922-January 20, 2008)
Gladys passed away at Thompson House in Don Mills, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in England, she served in the British Auxiliary during World War 2, prior to coming to Toronto in 1947. She has been predeceased by her brother Ron in England, her twin sister May in Montreal, and her sister Joan in Parry Sound. She is survived by nieces and nephews in England and Ontario. In accordance with the wishes of the family, funeral arrangements have been completed by Heritage Funeral Centre (416-423-1000). Interment in Parry Sound will occur in the spring. Donations to Thompson House or the Don Mills Foundation in her memory would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff at Thompson House, her home for the past 17 years.
