and following a brief stint working for the Australian Consulate
in Washington, D.C. during the war, she and Bruce settled in
London, Ontario where they raised their family until moving to
Vernon in the late 1980's. Phyllis was an avid reader of fine
literature, but was comforted most through regular reading and
devotion of the scriptures. In her quiet moments, Phyllis entertained
herself and others by playing all time popular music of the 40s
and 50s on her piano. Phyllis had a quick wit and was a formidable
and hilarious player of Scrabble. She was a devoted wife and
mother to the very day of her passing. We are all very thankful
to have been blessed by her sense of care and love. The family
wish to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the
caring staff of Vernon Jubilee Hospital and to the excellent
care provided by her physician, Doctor David Naismith. Friends and
family are planning a celebration of Phyllis' life to be announced
at a later date. In lieu of flowers and other tributes, people
are encouraged to make a donation to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital,
