Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday April 21, 2008
in Vancouver at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband John. Ann is
survived by her sons Bill (Lynde) of Toronto and John (Lorraine) of Maple
and her grand_sons Andrew and Dylan of Vancouver, as well as her surviving
sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews. Ann will be lovingly
remembered by her family and Friends who had the pleasure of her positive
attitude toward life. Thanks to her caregivers at Chalmers Lodge and in
her final days at Banfield Pavillion. Special thanks to Sham Sami and to
Jan O’Brien. A reception was held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 1440 –
12th Avenue on Saturday, April 26 at 2 pm to celebrate Ann’s life. If
desired, remembrances may be made to Manitoulin Family Resources for
Haven House.

In Loving Memory of Ann Mary Sloss, April 2, 1909 - May 15, 2008, who
died peacefully at Manitoulin Centennial Manor on Thursday at the age of
99. Predeceased by husband Robert Roy Sloss. Loving step mother of Janet
& husband Andrew Sagle. Devoted to grandchildren Royce and wife Helen
Sagle, Sheryl and husband Blair Gilpin, Bradley and wife Lynn Sagle, Yvonne and
husband Ian Scott, and to her eight great grandchildren and four great
great grandchildren. Predeceased by all her siblings: William Newman,
Stanley Newman, Elsie Guilbeault, Charles Newman. Visitation was 7 - 9 pm
Friday at Mindemoya Missionary Church. Funeral Service was at 2 pm on
Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Mindemoya Missionary Church. Burial at
Mindemoya Cemetery. Donations to the Missionary Church, Centennial Manor
or the Gideons would be appreciated. Arrangements with Island Funeral

It is with deep sadness that the family of Anna Kathleen (Kay) Milne (nee
Drolet) announces her death on Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 in Sudbury.
Beloved wife of George Milne predeceased. Loving mother of Evie Fish and
Janice DelVecchio both of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Leslie Ann
Cassidy (husband Wayne) and Darren and Tyler Fish of Sudbury, Ainslie
Parsons (husband Bob) of Kanata. Very special GiGi to Sidney and Avery
Cassidy, Jordan and Jada Fish and Macrae Martin. Remembered fondly by son in
law Byron Fish and special friend Lauran VanVolkenburg. Predeceased by
her parents, Ed and Ida Drolet and siblings Laura, Edith, Dick and Ena. A
Memorial Service will be held at the United Church of Espanola on
Thursday, April 17th at 10: 30 a.m. with the Reverend Cory Vermeer-
Cuthbert officiating. Interment of ashes in the Espanola Cemetery at a
later date. If so desired, Memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson
Society or the United Church of Espanola. Arrangements by Bourcier

In Loving Memory of Ruby Sandra Anne Pitawanakwat, July 7, 1947 – April
20, 2008, who entered into eternal rest, Sunday, peacefully at her home
in Manitowaning at the age of 60. Loving mother of Karen Diane White
(husband Mark), loving grandmother of Randy Pitawanakwat (partner
Candace), Julianna and Jenna Mayes, all of Toronto. Predeceased by
parents, Philip and Victoria Pitawanakwat. Loving sister of Vincent
Pitawanakwat (partner Bonnie) of Whitby, William Pitawanakwat (wife
Winnifred) of Sudbury, Marie Rogers and Margaret Pitawanakwat, both of
Wikwemikong. Predeceased by Lawrence, Julian and Robert Pitawanakwat and
Gertrude Trudeau. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews and by her
godchildren. Rested at Saint Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni,
Ontario.Visitation was from 2 pm, Thursday, April 24, 2008 until the
Funeral Mass, 11 am – Friday, April 25, 2008 at Saint Anthony Daniel
Church, Kaboni. Father McCarthy officiating. Interment in Kaboni
Cemetery. Island Funeral Home. Sandy, as many of her family and Friends
knew her, would agree she had quite a presence. She was never one to be
shy, she was outgoing, and always spoke her mind. Sandra enjoyed telling
and retelling stories from the old days, you were always guaranteed a
good hearty laugh when she was in the room. She was a historian at heart,
she felt that history was important and so, she kept up with the family
tree. She enjoyed care giving, which lead to her achieving her Registered
Practical Nurse diploma. You could say that she was like a mother hen
helping anyone who needed to be tucked under her wing. She had moved to
Toronto to help take care of her ailing mother and while there worked in
several hospitals and nursing homes. Later she moved to Wikwemikong where
she worked with the Victorian Order of Nurses and she continued
practicing her nursing skills to many on the Island. She also worked as a
supply teacher and connected well with the students with her easy manner.
She will be fondly remembered and forever in our hearts.

In loving memory of Patricia Anne Doff, August 3, 1932 - May 9, 2008, who
passed away bravely at the Mindemoya Hospital at the young age of 76.
Daughter of the late Frank and Martha Hause. Pat was predeceased by her
precious daughter Lisa Hopp. She is survived by her husband and true
friend Bill Doff (Mindemoya) Loving mother of Tony Hopp (wife Janice) of
Kitchener, Mike Hopp (partner Justin) of Cambridge, and Tim Hopp (wife
Karen) of Brantford. Loving grandmother of Andrew Hopp (fiancé Nicole) of
Kitchener, Adam Hopp (wife Lisa) of Kitchener, and Cody and Dylan Laberge-
Hopp of Brantford. Great grandmother of Noah Hopp. Pat will be missed by
her sisters Mary Achtenberg (Jerry) of Kitchener, Theresa Hause of
Kitchener and her many dear Friends both on and off Manitoulin Island.
Pat and Bill moved to Manitoulin and retired happily on Lake Mindemoya in
1992. Like many, Pat endured adversity in life, but, always managed to be
upbeat with an infectious smile. Pat was not one to sit idle. She enjoyed
many crafts including aertex, ceramics and paper tolle. She also enjoyed
euchre and bingo (in moderation). Pat was a member of the Twilight Club
which she enjoyed very much. Special thanks to caring Friends Joyce and
Ray Digout (Spring Bay) for years of love and Friendship and to Monique
and Thomas Schmutz (Mindemoya) for continued love and support. Pat would
appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements
