ALKENBRACK, Wesley MacKinnon
Peacefully at his home, Napanee on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in his 90th year. Survived by his wife Beth (née GIBSON;) his daughters Catherine and Betsy; his sons-in-law Stephen QUIGLEY and Moussa MAGASSA and by his grandchildren Kelly, Matt and Robyn QUIGLEY. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church on Sunday January 6, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. followed by a reception at the Wartman Funeral Home, 448 Camden Rd. at Newburgh Rd, Napanee K7R 1G1, (613-354-3722; wartmanfuneralhome@sympatico.ca). The family will receive Friends at Trinity Church Sunday from 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations by cheque to the Napanee and District Community Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

At the Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, February 28, 2008, in her 84th year. Dear mother of Roger DUNCAN of Nailsworth, England and dear sister of Janie ALKENBRACK of Napanee; the late Sue SINCLAIR (Allan of Napanee,) Joe (Ruth) of Peterborough, Bruce (Lois) of Fort Frances and Bill (Pat) of Chetwynd, British Columbia Fondly remembered by her step-brothers Pat and Neil HARRINGTON, her nieces Carol and Beth and nephews Ian, Brad, Scott and Jay. DUNCAN, Murray Robertson
Formerly of Saint Thomas, passed away on Wednesday, April 30th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Lilian (ALKER) DUNCAN (August 25th, 1998.) He is survived by his only daughter Diana Christine (Duncan) and her husband Ed KNOTT. Loved grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Murray served overseas with the R.C.R. He worked at Canada Vetrified and was a sewer and water contractor. He is a 50 year member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Sgt. Mess and The Old Elgin Band and First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Church. Murray was born at Enniskillen, Lambton County on December 29, 1917, the son of the late Charles Henry and Lillian (COLE) DUNCAN. He was predeceased by a brother Melvin. Also survived by several nieces and a nephew. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas for visitation Friday (May 2nd) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2: 00 p.m. at Plains Baptist Church (Sparta Line) Rev. Margaret BELL officiating. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. A Legion service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 6: 45 by the Officers and members of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Remembrances may be made to the First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Church or to the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care).
