Peacefully on July 24th, 2008 at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg. A Veteran of the Canadian Navy, he was actively engaged as a professional geologist with both domestic and international companies and was keenly interested in his family, sailing and curling. He will be missed by his loving wife Birdeen. Dear father of William Forbes (Jacqueline ALEJANDRO,) Scott John (Pauline CRAIG) and Debra DEEN. Loving grandfather to Carley ALEJANDRO and Robert Joseph. Brother of the late Dorothy WOOLVERTON and brother-in-law to Ralph WOOLVERTON. son of William Forbes KERBY and Anna (nee: ATKINSON) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Very loving husband of Anne MacLENNAN, beloved father of Shaughna, Caeleigh and Kimberly (Paul ALEXANDER,) dearest son of Robert and Joan BOARA and brother of Elaine (Joseph LAWRENCE,) died unexpectedly on Friday doing what he enjoyed. He collapsed suddenly while running during his lunch hour. He is dearly loved and will be sorely missed by family, Friends, colleagues and coworkers. He was fiercely loyal, generous, quietly loving, and a perfectionist who demanded the best from himself and inspired the same in others. He is survived by a large extended family. Passed away on Friday, January 18, 2008 at his home in Waterloo, Ontario, surrounded by his loving and caring family - Audrey (ALEXANDER,) his beloved wife of 53 years, and sons Scott, Brent and Craig. Al will be greatly and sadly missed by son Scott, daughter-in-law Marlene and grandchildren Kate, Jane and Scott Jr. (North Vancouver, British Columbia), son Brent, daughter-in-law Denise and grandchildren Vanessa and Victoria (Oakville, Ontario) and son Craig, daughter-in-law Lori and grandchildren Kayla and Mellissa (Plymouth, Michigan), as well as brother Doug (Mississauga, Ontario) and sister Barbara (MILLER) (London, Ontario.) Al was predeceased by his parents Harold A. (1989) and Grace E. (Perry 1986). Al was born in Sherbrooke, Québec, on November 10, 1927. He lived in various cities in Quebec and Eastern Ontario until joining the Royal Canadian Navy and serving on the HMCS Red Deer during the Second World War. Al then settled in Montreal, joining the Royal Bank of Canada in 1947. He enjoyed a very successful 40 year career with numerous stops in Montreal, as well as New York City, Havana, Moncton, Vancouver and Coral Gables, Florida, where he retired as Vice President - Latin America/ Caribbean in November of 1987. In retirement, Al and Audrey split their time between Waterloo, Ontario and Sarasota, Florida. Al was extremely proud of his 3 sons and 7 grandchildren, traveling often to see them in many of their sporting and academic activities. Al believed in giving back to the community. Throughout his life he was involved with many charitable and volunteer organizations, including the Waterloo Home Support Services Program, where he was a volunteer driver for many years. Being an avid tennis player, Al joined the Waterloo Tennis Club and played with and against younger opponents right up until October 23, 2007. He was then hit with the scourge of cancer in early November 2007. Al's battle with cancer was short and courageous. His family would like to thank Doctors MOOLMAN, WARD and TAN, the nursing staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, the nurses on the 8th floor of the Grand River Hospital, the Community Care nurses (Sara, Paula and Joan) and the nurses at Bayshore Home Health and the Red Cross for their care and compassion towards Al and his family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice in Al's honour would be greatly appreciated. A kind, gentle and elegant lady, teacher to many and a caring friend to all ages, passed away at Beechwood Court, Mississauga in her 94th year, after a long illness. Youngest daughter of the late John and Pearl McMULLEN of Petrolia. Predeceased by Douglas, her loving husband of 66 years, her beloved son Frederick and dear sister and brother-in-law, Orris and Melvin BEECROFT. Iva was deeply loved by her daughter Pamela ALEXANDER of New Zealand, daughter-in-law Carol ROLPH of Garden Hill, granddaughters Jennifer RUSAW of Newcastle, Meredith SEABROOK of Yellowknife, Morgain HOLLINGHURST of Edmonton and Jalynn ANDERSEN of Vancouver and their families including eight great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her nephew Doctor J. BEECROFT and his wife Roberta and her niece Heather BEECROFT of Toronto and their families. Iva was a graduate of Western University (English and French) Class of 1934 and was employed as a teacher in Petrolia, Montreal, Sarnia and Mississauga. Her love of teaching English, French and Latin was the basis for a life long love of reading and her favorite novel was Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Iva had many interests including knitting, sewing, bridge, music, theatre and travel and was famous for baking bran muffins. She was a longstanding member of her church, Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire and the Retired Teachers Association of Ontario. She brought her family together on many happy occasions and her legacy of love, courage and strength is an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. Her "larger than life hugs" will be sorely missed. Iva's family wish to thank all the wonderful caregivers, both in her home (Seniors for Seniors) and Beechwood Court (Excel Care) who provided support and love during this difficult stage of life. In addition, appreciation is extended to her former neighbours as well as members of Saint Peter's Church who shared their love. Special thanks to Michael Lavelle and Chris Hyatt for their unwavering Friendship and loyalty through many years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Saint Peter's Erindale Anglican Church, 1745 Dundas Street, W. Mississauga with visiting beginning ½ hour prior. At the age of 40 after a long struggle with lung cancer passed away on February 13th, 2008 comfortably at home with loved ones by her side. Beloved partner of Shauna ALEXANDER and treasured mother of Matthew. Dearly loved daughter of Irene and daughter and step-daughter of Rick and Wendy. Nicole was a graduate of the University of Toronto, with a major in Sociology. She devoted much of her time helping others and spent countless hours volunteering. Born November 28, 1921 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Passed away on February 15, 2008 in Brampton. Beloved wife of the late John Douglas "Doug". She will be sadly missed by her daughter Linda and her husband George PUCE, son John and his wife Barbara and son Brad, granddaughters Alicia and Rebecca, brother Ernie ROBINSON and many nieces and nephews. Pearl grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario and worked as an executive private secretary to the manager of Provincial Paper Mill for three years prior to marrying the love of her life, Doug, in 1944. They shared 59 wonderful years together, holding hands every night as they fell asleep. Pearl was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother and a tireless helpmate to Doug during his working life. Though she suffered many health issues during her life, she never complained. Her generous spirit, ever ready wonderful smile, kind words for all and loving, humble manner endeared her to everyone that she met and touched during her 86 years. Mom was a genuine pearl. Forever in our hearts. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing from a heart attack of our dear husband and father on Monday, 7 April 2008, at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, in his 80th year.
son of the late Benjamin and Rachel (née SMULLEN) BENNET- ALDER. Beloved husband of Margaret Isabel (née STEWARD/STEWART/STUART) for 45 years, loving father of Alice, Brisbane, Australia; David, Toronto, Peter, Niagara Falls; and Rachelle FERGUSON (John), Auckland, New Zealand. Loving grandfather of Aurora BENNET- ALDER, and Liam FERGUSON. Much loved brother of Tina BRAUN, Oakville, Ontario, Leon BENNET- ALDER, Tucson, Arizona and Adele ALEXANDER, Royal Oak, Michigan; loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A gifted, passionate teacher of both French and English as a second language, he also served at the Ontario Ministry of Education from 1964 to 1989.
He was a good friend to many, delighting them with his sense of humour and encyclopedic knowledge.
Noël was a devotee of Sai Baba and had visited him several time in India.
A Celebration of his life will take place at the York Chapel and Reception Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto 416-221-3404 on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place in the chapel from 10 a.m. until service time.

Always the optimist, believed in the goodness of others, a coach at business and at play, trusted all to do the right thing, married 34 wonderful years to his soul mate Heather (née ALEXANDER.) In his quiet times an avid reader, he loved a good biography, his heroes were Gandhi, St. Francis of Assisi, Benjamin Franklin, Nelson Mandela, and Muhammad Ali. Born in Two Mountains, moved into Montreal to attend Loyola College, upon graduation Jim joined Northern Electric in Personnel Management. In the early 70's he discovered sales, and spent the remainder of his career in sales and sales leadership positions. From '73 to '87 Jim held a variety of senior executive positions with Pitney Bowes of Canada. In late '87, Jim moved from the corporate world and began a new career in the general insurance business. His main objective was to have more time with his growing family of Heather and their three young boys, Matthew, Russell, and Graham. In his professional life, Jim's key to his success was his ability to identify, recruit, train and develop his staff to their maximum potential. He coached and convened local soccer and baseball, but his real passion was coaching rep hockey with the Markham Islanders and the Leaside Flames Hockey Clubs. He felt it was a privilege to work with the players and he enjoyed every minute of it. He will be greatly missed by his family and Friends. Jim is survived by Heather and their boys, his sister Ann WALSH of Two Mountains, special family friend Susan CHATTAWAY and many nephews and nieces. His sister Lin BEECROFT passed away in 1991. The family wants to thank Doctor BEZJAK and all the medical staff at Princess Margaret Hospital for their wonderful care since Jim was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001. We also would like to thank all those responsible for Canada's great healthcare system. A very special thank you to Ted TOBIAS for his support, loving care and Friendship. On April 16th 2008, Jim peacefully passed on at home, surrounded by his sons, in the arms of his devoted wife. A celebration of Jim's life will take place in Markham at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave, 905-305-8508. Visitation on Sunday April 20th, 2pm-4 p.m. and 7pm-9 p.m. Service on Monday April 21st at 11: 00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Princess Margaret Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Passed away peacefully at Tyndall Nursing Home on Friday, June 13, 2008, at the age of 84. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan, and his parents Tom and Helen COTTRELL of Saint Thomas, Ontario. Loving father of Rick and his wife Colleen, Beth and her husband Bob PATON, Debbie, Carolyn, Pam and her husband Colin SPENCER. Dear grandfather of Shannon and her husband Steve PITT, Derek, Kelly, Matthew, Hailey, Owen and Jessica and great-grandfather of Madeline. Survived by his sisters, Roma O'NEIL, Alma COTTRELL and Jenifer PRENTICE- ALEXSANDRE. After service in the Canadian Armed Forces, David commenced his civilian career at Christie's Biscuits in Toronto. He later joined Ford Motor Co. of Canada in Bramalea, retiring after 22 years.
