At London Health Science Centre-Westminster Campus on Tuesday February 19, 2008. Juliette Barbier of Aylmer in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late William BARBIER (1991.) Dear mother of George BARBIER and wife Lynda of R.R.#6 Tillsonburg, Marilyn VAN ACKER and husband Larry of R.R.#5 Aylmer, and Karen FALK and husband John of R.R.#6, Aylmer. Loved by her grandchildren Sandra CALHOUN and husband Trevor, Ryan VAN ACKER, Duane BARBIER, Leah SLEEGERS and husband Andrew and Ramona FALK. Great-grandmother of Emma CALHOUN, Jenna SLEEGERS and Megan SLEEGERS. Sister of Mary VANDEWIELE and husband Gabriel, Anna BARBIER, and Charles VANDERHOEVEN and wife Dolly. Sister-in-law of Edna DELEEBEECK. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Art, George and Carl VANDERHOEVEN. Born in Wallaceburg, Ontario on November 29, 1923, daughter of the late Emiel and Eliza (MAGERMEN) VANDERHOEVEN. Mrs BARBIER moved to Tillsonburg in 1926 and lived in Aylmer and area since 1946. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers 7: 00 p.m. Thursday. Dear mother of Vera CATHERS and husband Fred of Toronto and Larry VAN ACKER and wife Marilyn of R.R.#5, Aylmer. Loving grandmother of Carrie KENNY and husband Tyson, Chris CATHERS and wife Kim, Sandra CALHOUN and husband Trevor, Ryan VAN ACKER and fiancee Jackie CROSBY and great-grandmother of Grayson, Rachel, Emma, Noah and Jaxon. WEISS, Calvin Milton
Passed peacefully into the hands of God at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the age of 82, with his loving wife Irene (GOTTFRIED) at his side. He was the eldest son of the late Milton and Marie WEISS. Loving father of Larry (Sandra) KURT of Ladysmith, British Columbia; Marion (Gord) KOEPKE of Owen Sound; Bob (Ann) WEISS; Muriel (Alan) PRAUGHT both of Kitchener; Robert (Leonie) KURT of Nanimo, British Columbia and Ken WEISS also of Kitchener. Proud Grandfather of Lisa, Lori, Jesse, Derek, Brian, David, Mark, Jeff, Chris, Mike, Lisa and Crystal. Caring great-grandfather of 14. Predeceased by his first wife Ruby WHITELAW (1961.) Brother of Mel, Esther ACKERNECHT Gerry; and, Joyce FERGIN all of Kitchener. In his retirement years Cal enjoyed small engine repair, reading and chatting on his CB. Cal will be sadly missed by his extended family and special Friends. Sincere appreciation is extended to Doctor BILLINGS, Pastor BIGGS and to the many nurses in Southampton and Owen Sound hospitals for their care and support. BRYDON, James Fasken, M.Sc., P.Eng.
Passed away at the McCall Centre, Trillium Hospital on June 8, 2008 at the age of 86 with his family by his side. There was no fading of his strong character to the end. Beloved husband of the late Marion BRYDON (2001.) Dear Father of Christine (Jack) and Jeffrey (Barbara.) Devoted Grandfather of Saskia (VANDERLOO) and Laura (BRYDON,) the apples of his eye. Predeceased by his parents, Alexander BRYDON and Margaret CARD, brothers Douglas and William and sister Marion. Survived by nine nieces and nephews. The support that Jim received from his sister-in-law, Catherine ACKMAN, and her family was unwavering. Jim was a proud chemical engineer who dedicated his professional life to PPG Industries Canada for 41 years. He was passionately interested in conceptualizing and implementing improvements in the scientific and mechanical world around him. A fiercely independent, analytical thinker, he was driven by a profound sense of duty and caring reflected in the many quiet, unsung ways that he contributed to and cared for the well-being of family, Friends and the community at large. Dad and Grandpa, you will be so sorely missed. The family wishes to express appreciation to Doctors Bruce HICKEY and Tom REBANE and to the exceptional staff at the McCall Centre. SHOREY, Roger McMullen
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Roger McMullen SHOREY as a result of a car accident on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at the age of 79. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Viviane ACKROYD, originally of Brussels, Belgium. Very dear father of Judith (Desmond), Mark (Anida) and Nicole (Steve). Beloved Grandpa of Conor, Celia, Noah, Jack and Eric. Younger brother of Kathleen of Peterborough and David of Cobourg. Predeceased by his sister Nancy. Born October 4, 1928 in Cobourg, Ontario, he had a long and distinguished career as a senior officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Canada and liason postings in Europe and in the Middle East. After retirement from the force he continued his career with Bank of Montreal as a Vice President of Corporate Security worldwide. He enjoyed a long and happy retirement on his farm near Metcalfe, Ontario, and what a great time he had. His woodworking, his tractor, his trees, his grandchildren, his horses and dogs were a source of great pleasure to him as was, of course, sharing his homemade wine with family and Friends. He will be greatly missed by his many Friends in Canada and abroad. He truly was a man for all seasons. Friends are invited to gather at a Memorial Visitation which will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, Saturday, July 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a private committal in the SHOREY family plot in Baltimore at a later date. No flowers please, but donations can be made to the Winchester and District Memorial Hospital.

Of London passed away in his 89th year at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Beloved husband of Madeleine B. Sapergia SHEILS. Predeceased by his first wife, Beatrice M. Rawlings SHEILS (2002.) Only son of the late Charles (1962 and Leila Claire (1992) SHEILS. Father of R. James SHEILS (Carol) of Aylmer and R. Glenn SHEILS of London. Step-father of D. Taylor SAPERGIA (Heather) and Daryl T. SAPERGIA (Tracy), all of Prince George, British Columbia. Grandfather of Randy SHEILS (Toni) of Springfield, Brenda ACKWORTH (Les) of Southwold and Barbara HANSFORD (Garry) of Dorchester. Step-grandfather of Sarah SAPERGIA (Dan WATT), Theresa SAPERGIA (Andreas HAHN) of Prince George, British Columbia, Laura SAPERGIA (David LOEWEN) of Smithers, British Columbia and Carol SAPERGIA of Prince George, British Columbia. Also survived by great-grandchildren Tyler, Robert and Kelsie SHEILS, Brittany and Jessica ACKWORTH, Kayla and Jason HANSFORD, great-step-grand_son Thompson WATT and great-step-granddaughters, Madeleine WATT and Teeghan SAPERGIA. Survived also by sisters-in-law Wilda IRVIN of Barrie, Marie McFARLAN of London and Alice McFARLAN of Clinton and brothers-in-law, Harry SMALL and David THURSTON of London. Sadly missed by many step-nieces and nephews. The Sheils family operated the family farm Sheils Lane, Dorchester, for three generations. Ronald's Holstein herd produced milk for the Silverwoods and London Pure Milk Dairies. He was a member of the Dorchester Presbyterian Church choir, Past Master of Dorchester Masonic Blue Lodge, Merrill 344, and Nilestown Masonic Red Chapter, as well as the Eastern Star. He studied violin at seven years of age and for many years played with the Wellington Street United Church Orchestra on Sundays under the direction of James Cressell, who led the Royal Canadian Regiment Army Band during World War 1. For many years he played for dances in Banner, Nissouri, Dorchester, Mitchell and Shelbourne. Friends will be received at the Bieman Funeral Home, Dorchester from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 1: 00 p.m. Private interment, Dorchester Union Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Charitable Organization of your choice would be gratefully appreciated and acknowledged.
