Frances was born in London, Ontario to Herbert and Elsie Louise (FRANCIS) BOYCE, she excelled in sports and academics, graduating with honours in French and German from The University of Western Ontario in 1940. After marrying Homer on her 21st birthday she worked as a war time censor in Ottawa, lived in Chatham, Ontario until moving west to Edmonton in 1951 where she began her career as a high school teacher. Later her family returned to Ontario in 1961 where Frances became the head of Languages department at Aldershot High School in Burlington. In 1985, Frances retired to Grand Bend, Ontario to devote herself to her Friends, family and community. Frances will be remembered for her positive outlook, worldly travels, golf, bridge and love of life but mostly for her inspiration and concern for others. She will be dearly missed. Cremation. The family would like to thank Doctor O'CONNOR, the staff of Exeter Hospital and Lambton Outreach for their care and attention to Frances. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the T. In his 82nd year passed away Saturday, April 12th, 2008 after a short illness. Beloved husband of Judith, father of Larry WELCH (Lynn) of Poplar Hill, Brenda MUTTER (Harold) of Wasaga Beach, Vikki SEARLE (Mike) of Komoka, Randy WELCH (Anne) of London, Cheryl RASTIN (Dave) of Mount Brydges, and Chris WELCH (Kim) of Victoria, British Columbia and he was also the beloved grandfather of 17 grandchildren. Sadly missed by his sisters Dolly BOUK (Jack) of London and Marjorie LUTTIKHOF (Bill) of Lambeth and all his nieces and nephews. Many people got to know Charlie through his association with the Little Beaver (Byron) Restaurant. Charlie was also a member of the Arthur Currie Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in Strathroy and a member of the Strathroy Seniors Centre. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4th, 2008 at 1: 00 p.m. at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home in Strathroy. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. 87, passed away at his residence, Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, Saint Thomas on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (née WELCH) HONSINGER (1984.) Father of Jim HONSINGER (Wendy,) and Terry HONSINGER, and grandfather of Tim HONSINGER, and Jay HONSINGER (Laurie,) all of Saint Thomas. Great-grandfather of Gregory, Tristan and Taylor HONSINGER. Brother of Ruth TUFF of London, late Max HONSINGER, and the late Urlin HONSINGER. Also survived by sister-in-law, Sharon TOOLEY of Saint Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews. Born in Saint Thomas, January 22, 1921, he was the son of the late Clifford and Norma née SMILEY) HONSINGER. Paul was a retired employee of Timken Canada. During the Second World War, he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of Lord Elgin Branch #41, Royal Canadian Legion, Saint Thomas. WELCH, Doctor Mary▲ Katherine " Kate"
Dr. Kate WELCH died suddenly on June 2nd, 2008. She is survived by her three daughters, Sydney, Perryn and Madeleine, and her husband Stephen KRUTH, as well as her mother, Barbara WELCH and her sisters Deborah, Jillian and Islay.
Born in England in 1956, Kate spent her childhood in Winnipeg where she first developed her interest in science and her artistic talents - and a life-long love of animals. After high school, Kate attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1979. After graduation, she completed an internship in small-animal medicine and surgery at the University of California at Davis before returning to Saskatchewan to complete a master's degree in veterinary pathology. She taught at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine briefly before moving to Guelph in 1985. Most recently Kate worked as a veterinary pathologist at the Canadian Co-operative Wildlife Health Centre, based at the University of Guelph, and as an adjunct professor at the Ontario Veterinary College.
Veterinary medicine was not her only academic pursuit, and she found time to study art at the University of Guelph, completing her degree in Fine Arts in 1992. Her photography, printmaking and painting brought her great joy. Her artistic talents also found expression in her gardening, and she ran her own garden design business for a number of years. She spent many hours nurturing her plants in her own garden, and it was featured in the Guelph Garden Tour in 2005.
Kate was an avid believer in physical fitness and a talented athlete. She participated in biathlons, cross-country skiing, and had just recently learned to surf. She was a regular runner and enjoyed yoga. However, horses were her great love. She learned to ride as a child and, as a young woman, went to England to train for her British Horse Society certification as a riding instructor. She continued to own and ride horses throughout her life, and over the past few years had dedicated countless hours to training her horse Bonty. Kate's love of horses also lead her, and her horse Motley, to the Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre not long after they arrived in Guelph. Kate recently served as a very active member of Sunrise's Board of Directors and Motley went on to become a favorite of the Centre's riders.
In April 2005, Kate was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. This life-changing event caused her to live her life with more conviction than ever before. This year, she celebrated her third cancer-free year. She became a passionate advocate for the importance of early detection of the disease, and worked closely with Ovarian Cancer Canada educating others and acting as a spokesperson.
No one was more important in Kate's life than her three daughters, and raising them was a primary focus of her time and energy for many years. She was justifiably proud of the accomplished young women they have become.
Kate did nothing by half measures. She was a woman of strong convictions and extraordinary energy. Once she set her course, she was single-minded in the pursuit of her goal. Her passion and commitment will be greatly missed by her family and her many Friends.
Arrangements are underway for a private family funeral. A celebration of Kate's life will be held on Monday, June 23rd, at 7: 00 p.m. at the Guelph Arboretum. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honour to either Ovarian Cancer Canada, 101-145 Front St. East Toronto, Ontario M5A 1E3 or Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre, 6920 Conc. 1, R.R.#2 Puslinch Ontario N0B 2J0.

Peacefully, Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, at the age of 70. Much loved husband of Linda (STODDART.) Dear father of Suzanne WELCH (Peter) and Glen (Tanis.) Adoring 'Poppa' of Gabrielle WELCH and Pippa SHORTT. Survived by brother Dr. Jim SHORTT, Sarasota, Florida. Will be missed by brothers and sisters-in-law, Gail and Claude LALONDE, Ian and Lorna STODDART, Leslie SHORTT and nieces and nephews Michelle and Paul LALONDE, Dr. Karen STODDART, Allison STODDART, Andrew STODDART, and Scott SHORTT. Bill was the son of Doctor Charles SHORTT and Winnifred (WORSNOP) SHORTT. He graduated in Civil Engineering from University of New Brunswick in 1962 and from the University of Western Ontario in 1964 with an MBA. He worked for the T. Eaton Co for many years, the Toronto Board of Trade and since 1994 USC Registered Education Savings Plans Inc. Since 1998 Bill and Linda lived at Windstone Farm in Beckwith Township, where Bill was able to fulfill his dreams of huge vegetable gardens and growing the 'best garlic'. Died at Riverside Glen, in Guelph, Ontario, of old age. Predeceased by his wife Shirley WELDON, his sister Alma and his brother John. Survived by his children Patricia, Sheila, James and Susan; grandchildren Christopher and Laura; great-granddaughter Cayley, and many extended family members.
Len was born in Lindsay, Ontario, attended school in Toronto, and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2. He was stationed in Winnipeg, where he married Shirley. After the war, he earned a B.A. from Victoria College (U of T), graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the bar in 1951. Leaving private practice in Toronto, Len became General Counsel, head of the legal department, and later, a Vice President, of the Dow Chemical Company of Canada.
Len's professional life was characterized by more than 40 years of leadership, service and integrity. In Sarnia, he served as Alderman on City Council, Chairman of Saint_Joseph's Hospital Board, Chairman of the Centennial Fund Committee, a member of the Board of Directors at Lambton College, President of the Lambton County Law Association, and President of the Sarnia Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Rotary, and served as Rector's Warden at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church.
Len was also a director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and President of the Association of Canadian General Counsels. After retiring from Dow, Len and Shirley moved to Oakville. In his "retirement", he served as a Deputy Judge, Small Claims Division, in Halton County and was Executive Director of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada. After Len retired from Small Claims Court, Len and Shirley moved to Guelph.
Len enjoyed life tremendously; his interests over time included stamp collecting, music and dance, photography, world travel, history and politics, and contract bridge. He was a devoted husband and father, loyal Friends, and proud Canadian.
Visitation at the Gilbert MacIntyre and son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph, Ontario, on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 1 to 2 p.m. The Funeral Service and Reception will follow in the funeral home chapel. Mervyn PLUMMER of Duncan, born in Collingwood Township, a son of the late Earl Milton and Wilda Viola (née WILKINSON) PLUMMER, passed away in Meaford on Friday, July 4, 2008 at the age of Mervyn was well known in the local area communities and surrounding area as he was always interested in vehicles and equipment and he loved to drive. Before returning to farming Mervyn enjoyed a brief career in trucking which included a bread delivery route, livestock cartage and gravel trucking for area construction projects.
After returning to farming Mervyn still enjoyed his vehicles and was well known to area implement dealers as he was always interested in what was new in the industry. He also drove many students for several years on a local bus route. Mervyn also enjoyed the outdoors and the pleasures of nature and hunting. He was a devoted and valued member and supporter of Kolapore Calvary Church of the Nazarene.
Mervyn was the beloved husband of 36 years of the former Lois HALLAM and he will be lovingly remembered as Dad and Grampa by his son Paul and grand_son Seth of Quesnel, British Columbia, daughter Connie and her husband Marc DEN BOK and their son Andrew of Duntroon, and by his son James and his wife Michelle also of Duncan.
Mervyn▼ was a loved brother of Eunice PLUMMER of Creemore and Marjorie (late Gary) WELLER of Douglas and he predeceased by a brother Ernie PLUMMER and will be remembered by his wife Audrey of Collingwood.
He will also be remembered as a dear son-in-law of Sadie HALLAM of Feversham and brother-in-law of Barb and Walt SHIER of Feversham, and Bonnie and Wayne DAVIDSON of Orangeville.
Mervyn's family received many Friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, The Valley Chapel, in Thornbury on Monday afternoon and evening and funeral services, officiated by Pastor Terrence GOUDY, were conducted at Kolapore Calvary Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, July 8, 2008.
Special music was provided by Roger and Lora DINSMORE, and Terry and Jan CARSCADDEN and by pianist Carrie CARSCADDEN. son Paul delivered remembrances of his Dad on behalf of the family and nieces Melanie CATHCART and Karen Davidson offered selected scripture readings. Former Kolapore Pastor Mark ROYALE closed the service with prayer and delivered the benediction.
A service of committal and interment followed at Feversham Presbyterian Cemetery with nephews David and Bruce PLUMMER, Lee WELLER, son-in-law Marc DEN BOK and sons Paul and James PLUMMER serving as pallbearers, Mervyn's▼ daughter-in-law Michelle PLUMMER and his daughter Connie DEN BOK served as flower bearers.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sari VAISLER (née GASCO) on Monday, February 18, 2008 in her 88th year. Sari passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Sydney, and by her sister, Florence RUBIN. Loving mother to Barry and Wendi, Elissa and Irving, Shelley and Kenny. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Shannon, Kelly, Sean, Ryan, Bram and Rachel, Eric and Adam, as well as her brother Sydney GASCO. Sari was foremost, a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was so proud of her family, as we were of her. She was a pillar of strength to us all, until the end. Our family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Harle and the Palliative Care team, who helped us care for Sari at home, which was her wish.
