STOHL-
COLLOMBIN,
Ena
P.
Granny passed away peacefully in Victoria, B.C. on Saturday March 22nd
having recently celebrated her 96th birthday. A positive thinker
with a love of many things: - good music -- an accomplished concert
pianist at age 18, literature -- she read the complete Bible
and Encyclopedia from cover to cover, she willingly gave sage
advice, enjoyed stimulating conversation but above all she loved
her family -- Bev (Ann), all of her grandchildren and their wives
as well as her 9 great-grandchildren. Sadly she was unable to
go on her planned trip to England but instead traveled on her
own private journey.
A service will be held later this week, and since she believed
that cut flowers are a "waste of both beauty and money" Friends
may wish to make a donation to the charity of their choice. Our

HARRIS recalled as popular town fire chief
By Sun Media, Thurs., May 8, 2008
Wheatley -- Firefighters from across Southwestern Ontario are
expected at tomorrow's funeral of the Chatham-Kent fire department's
Wheatley station chief.
Robert James
HARRIS, 40, died Monday of cancer.
"Robert was highly thought of and did a good job for Chatham-Kent
as a firefighter," said assistant chief Ray
STONE.
STONE said
HARRIS came from a long line of firefighters. His
late father, Donald
HARRIS, was also a fire chief.
HARRIS's casket will be carried on a fire truck from Wheatley

Firefighters from outside the area have volunteered to staff
the Wheatley and Tilbury halls to allow local firefighters to
attend the funeral,
STONE said.
A benefit dinner for the
HARRIS family is planned May 24 at the
Wheatley Arena.
"Robert is going to be greatly missed," said West Kent Coun.
Brian KING.
HARRIS joined the Mersea, Romney and Wheatley fire department
in July 1985.
He worked his way up the ranks from firefighter to captain and
in 2002 was promoted to station chief of Station 20.
His full-time job was with the maintenance department at Point
