Suddenly on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the University Hospital (London Health Sciences Centre), with his loving family by his side, Ray Malcolm PATTERSON of R.R.#1 Brownsville, at the age of 60 years. Born in Tillsonburg, son of the late Charles PATTERSON and the late former Violet EPPLE. Ray was a dedicated S.W. Oxford Municipal Services Mechanic and employee for the past nine years retiring at the end of February. Ray previously was an Ontario Hydro employee for 11 years. He served his community of Brownsville and S.W. Oxford Twsp as a dedicated Brownsville Firefighter for twelve years. Ray was an avid outdoorsman who like hunting, trapping and scuba diving. Recently, he once again offered his services as a diver to assist the Kiwanis and town with the Lake Lisgar Fountain Installation. "Beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa and good friend, Ray valued his family, neighbours and Friends greatly." Beloved husband of 27 years of Shirley (FIRBY) PATTERSON. Grandmother to Julia. Sister-in-law to Barbara HOGG, of Perth. Born in Campbellford, Ontario of Scottish parents, she grew up in Perth, and graduated from Victoria College, Toronto in 1944. From 1945-55 she taught music and English at Glebe Collegiate, Ottawa. Her interest in music, literature and art, as well as her gifts as a teacher were an inspiration to all, including the many students she taught throughout her life. Private interment Beechwood Cemetery. CROWLEY, Ann (1944-2003)
Run for Ovarian Cancer Memorial July 5th marks the 5th anniversary of the passing of our very dear friend Ann CROWLEY, as a result of Ovarian Cancer. When she was diagnosed with this dreadful disease Ann felt compelled to bring all of her considerable influence and energy to making other women aware of the signs and symptoms of this disease. With a handful of Friends and family, Ann started the Run for Ovarian Cancer to try and raise awareness and to generate funds for research into a cure or early detection for Ovarian Cancer. Her good work was multiplied by the efforts of other London women diagnosed with the same disease, women like Elaine Pensa, Kim Sinclair and Nancy Ford. In 2008 these grass roots efforts have added over $100,000 to the money raised since the Run's beginning, bringing the total to over half a million dollars! This money goes directly to support a translational cancer research initiative at London Regional Cancer Centre in co-operation with the Gynaecology Department of University of Western Ontario and London Health Sciences Centre. Researchers and care givers assisted by Doctor Trevor SHEPHERD are working diligently to unlock the key to early detection and ultimately a cure. The executive committee of The Run for Ovarian Cancer remembers and honours Ann CROWLEY for her inspiration and the positive impact that it continues to bring to our community and to women everywhere.

Born on September 26, 1927 in Pelly, Saskatchewan. Passed away peacefully on April 4, 2008 in Victoria, British Columbia. She is survived by her brother Robert DUNDAS (Shirley) of Vancouver, British Columbia and her sister Ann SHEPHERD (Ronald) of Victoria, British Columbia as well as many nieces and nephews. Judith was educated at Victoria College (University of British Columbia), University of Wisconsin and the University of London. She published numerous articles on poetry and painting in the Renaissance and was the author of several books. From 1969 to 1997 she taught at the University of Illinois where she was professor Emerita of English. A devotion to gardening throughout his life gave George a joy and vigour younger than his years, but his greatest pleasure was raising his children, works in progress still to this day. Attracted to a rural community, he was concerned with equal and effective representation of his clients before the law and deeply involved in community service, especially through the Shelburne Rotary Club.

Loving▲ father of Ruth (Dwight) TURNER, David (Nada,▲) Geordie (Victoria) and John (Nicole). Cherished grandfather of Sarah TURNER. Devoted▲ partner of Brenda McCLEARY. Predeceased by his brother Ralph and son Peter. A devotion to gardening throughout his life gave George a joy and vigour younger than his years, but his greatest pleasure was raising his children, works in progress still to this day. Attracted to a rural community, he was concerned with equal and effective representation of his clients before the law and deeply involved in community service, especially through the Shelburne Rotary Club. The family will receive Friends at the Doney Funeral Home, 318 Main Street East, Shelburne, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. Cremation with spring interment at Creemore Cemetery.

Great aunt of Mary Ellen and Cory DEMERIS; Nancy and Scott SHEPPARD Tom and Liz BROADWELL; Ben BROADWELL; Joel BROADWELL; Beth BROADWELL and Darren DICKSON/DIXON; David and Jodi BROADWELL. Of Saint Thomas, passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, February 21, 2008, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Bert L. CASKEY (2001.) Dear sister of Muriel KENNAN of Dallas, Texas, Madelynne BLACKBURN and her husband John of Burlington, and Peggy JEFFREY of Sarnia. Also fondly remembered by sister-in-law, Maxine PRINGLE of Sarnia, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Dale PRINGLE and by brothers-in-law, Noël FITZGIBBON, Irl KENNAN, Howard SHEPPARD and Douglas JEFFREY. Born in Moore Twp., Ontario, September 7, 1920, daughter of the late Neil and Florence (MacKAY) PRINGLE. Helen was a Registered Nurse, having been a graduate of the Memorial Hospital, Saint Thomas. She was a long-time member of First United Church, Saint Thomas, and was an avid curler at the Saint Thomas Curling Club for many years. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. We are sad to announce that Mom passed away on Monday, March 3rd, 2008 at Strathroy Middlesex Hospital at the age of 88. She resided most recently at the Country Manor in Thedford. Previously she and the family lived in Port Lambton and Sarnia. Mom was predeceased by her husband, William Thomas (Bill) CLEAVE. She will be missed by her five children; Carole CLEAVE of Lake Valley Grove, Babs and Brian COLLIER of Errol Village, Marnie and Nick MECHALKO of Lazy Acres, Tom CLEAVE of Georgetown and Martin CLEAVE of London, formerly Sarnia. Marian adored her grandchildren - Kacy and Rob WEEKE, David and Brooke COLLIER, Mark and Dawn FAIRBAIRN, Jay and Julie SHEPPARD, Nathaniel SHEPPARD, Jenna and Mandy SHEPPARD, Andrew and Di MECHALKO, Mary and Derrik MECHALKO, Tyson CLEAVE and Carrie LANE and Mindy CLEAVE. Her special joys were her thirteen great-grandchildren. Marian leaves behind her older sister Babs LEROY and three nieces and their families in California. She is also survived by Jack and Fran CLEAVE and many nieces and nephews in Canada. She was predeceased by Harry and Verna HUNTER Frank and Jean CLEAVE. Passed away on Friday, March 21 at the Extendicare Nursing Home in London. He was in his 98th year. He leaves brother Frank of Guelph Ontario, his sister Kathryn of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, his daughter Carolyn SHEPPARD (David) of London, 2 grand_sons Stephen of Port Stanley and Michael (Jill) of Thorndale and 2 great-granddaughters Megan and Lindsay of Thorndale. Jed was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and lived for a number of years in Truro, Nova Scotia where his daughter Carolyn was born. As Jed wished, there will be no visitation or formal service. Cremation has occurred. Family and Friends will miss his humorous antics and his keen sense of humour. The celebration of his life can be made through donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Extendicare for the excellent care Jed received.

Her grace and dignity over the past two and a half years have been a testament to how she lived her life. Deeply loved and loving wife of Brian and devoted mother of Owen and Emily. Predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Nelson CUNNINGHAM and her parents-in-law, Betty and Norman SHEPPARD.
