remembered by many relatives and Friends whom he nicknamed throughout
the years. George served in the Canadian Armed Forces, overseas,
where he entertained troops in the Canadian Army Shows during
World War 2. As an accomplished trumpet player he played in many
bands, including the Johnny Downs Orchestra, where he was often
heard playing at the Stork Club in Port Stanley. Recently George
and the members of the Johnny Downs Orchestra, were the first
to be inducted into The Stork Club Big Band Museum and Hall of
Fame. George ran the Fred J. Weekes and son Insurance Agency
in London for over 50 years following his father's retirement.
He was a lifelong member of the Union Lodge No. 380 Ancient,
Free and Accepted Masons of London. George happily spent his
winters with his wife in North Fort Myers, Florida. Cremation
has taken place. A memorial gathering to celebrate George's life
will be held at the family cottage on Saturday July 12, 2008
from 2: 00 to 5:00 p.m. in Port Stanley. In keeping with George's
style and tradition "keep it casual". As an expression of sympathy,

Dorothy was a piano teacher in Tavistock
for more than sixty years; was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Sebastopol-Tavistock where she was a member of the Evangelical
Lutheran Women. She also played the pump organ for services at
the Historical Trinity Anglican Church in East Zorra. She had
good memories of the enjoyment she had during the years she was
farming with her husband Lloyd. She married Lloyd Henry
WILKER
at Trinity Anglican Church, East Zorra on August 25, 1951. He
died on May 11, 1985. Dorothy is the loved mother of Rosanne

Club. Laird happily retired from Jennings Insurance to pursue
fly fishing, duck hunting and skeet shooting. He will be sadly

Richard was a graduate of Antioch College (Ohio). He joined the
staff of the University of Waterloo in 1966 as an academic counsellor
for the Faculty of Arts. He served as president of the Staff
Association for several terms. He retired in 1994 and was bestowed
with Honorary Member of The University of Waterloo. Dick worked
tirelessly as a volunteer over the span of his entire life. Never
dissuaded by the enormity of a worthy task, he was responsible
for the creation and founding of numerous organizations such
as the Canadian Unitarian Council, Unicamp, The Willowdale Fellowship,
The Alfred Adler Institute of Ontario and many others. Dick never
arrived empty handed and made sure that there was always room
at his table, a pallet on his floor and a boat full of gas.
Since retiring, Dick shared his time and talents, volunteering
for Beaver Creek Correctional Institute as Community Liaison,
and as a board member of Muskoka Family Services. The acts of
kindness, caring and citizenry Dick has shown his beloved Muskoka
community are too numerous to mention and too special to be forgotten.
