FALCONER, Thomas S. " Paddy"
(Royal Canadian Mounted Police Reg. N. 13351)
Passed away June 19, 2008, peacefully, of old age, in his 94th year. Mourned by his loving wife of 62 years, Frances, his daughter Eileen MERCIER (Charles HANTHO,) his son Jim (Kristi GOURLAY,) five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his five siblings and his son-in-law Ernest MERCIER. Born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in 1914, he and his family emigrated to Edmonton in 1929. He joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in April 1940 and retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1966. He finished his working career with the Immigration Service in Fort Erie, Ontario and finally retired in 1979. He lived and worked in a world of right and wrong, of good and bad, where he played a small but important part in making that world a better and safer place. He loved and was inordinately proud of his family and their accomplishments while minimizing the importance of his own. We will miss his stories and lessons drawn from the great literary and historical texts he loved to read, while trying hard to remember them all. There will be no funeral service, at his request. Donations, for those so inclined, could be directed to the Frances Falconer Nursing Scholarships at the Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation.

HANNESSON, Michael Carl Paul, B. Comm., C.A.
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the sudden passing of Michael Carl Paul HANNESSON on May 15, 2008.
He will be sorely missed by his wife and soul mate Myke (MEREDITH,) adoring daughters Laura and Signi, "stellar" son-in-law Jason (Michael's words) and beautiful, precious granddaughter Hanna. He will also be missed by many extended family members and Friends who were included in the family circle.
Michael's career was vast and varied and we know that many will miss the banter for which he was known - not to mention the hard questions. He considered himself semi-retired (not necessarily true), as he never turned down a chance to mentor and advise young people on their career paths and education.
As always he continued to travel, as long as he could access his e-mail, a courier service and telephone, but of course with a hammock and beach nearby.
We will celebrate Michael's life on May 27th at the Beach Grove Golf Course in Tsawwassen, British Columbia from 3 to 7 p.m., children are welcome. Out of town guests please contact the family for arranged accommodation. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Mickey Hannesson Scholarship Fund at www.wpgfdn.org.

As life goes on its way
I often talk about you
with love and sad regret
For I, who loves you dearly
Never will forget
The many things you did for me
In your kind and loving way
You gave me years of happiness
No one can take away
To me you were someone special
Someone good and true
You will never be forgotten
For I thought the world of you.
- Lovingly remembered by husband Harold
